ielamahae
This is a follow up on a post about multiple tactics. The conversation took a different turn from what I expected and the suggestion for future FM's wasn't made as clear as it could. I truly believe this could take FM to another level: It might be too late for FM17, but there should be more team formations per tactic in which each formation be attributed to a specific phase of play. When a team attacks it has one formation with players assigned specific roles, when the team defends it has a different shape with different roles for players. For instance, a team attacking in a 4-3-3 formation and defending in a 4-1-4-1 formation. With each set of formations the transitions from attack to defend will generate different team shapes with the intent of preventing counter attacks. In future FMs we could have each set of tactic (from the three available) with two main formations and some way to work the transitions between each. So the Box to Box midfielder in the 4-3-3 example could come back to defend in the 4-1-4-1 as a CDM-Regista, etc. For each attack and defense situation you would get more possibilities to work tactics to neutralize the opponent's play and create more chances. Right now, you can only choose one formation for each tactic, and you can only change the formation when the game is stopped (fouls, ball out of pitch, kick-off, etc.). It would be amazing if the team could change shape during different phases of the game because of the two formations you setup.
pedrosantos
If you start from a 4141 formation you are defending like a 4141, but you can assign roles and duties that will set that 4141 to a 433 when your team has the ball. Then, when your team looses the ball, players set themselves back to the 4141 formation. Maybe, what you might want or feel need for is to tell players to act a specific role when the team is attacking and some different role when the team is defending. Also, as I posted at the other topic, TI could give a lot of help if they were more clearer regarding the defensive / offensive shape instead of being all together in the same current screen. herne79
There's no need to open a duplicate thread and copy/paste your post from there to here. As stated in the other thread, the formation you see in the Tactics screen is your defensive formation. This could perhaps be made more clear in game. Please continue the discussion in the original thread - if everything is kept in one place it's much easier for everyone to keep track and for SI to review.
