Not Enough Space

Recommended Posts

When I try to play Football Manager 2019 it keeps telling me that I don't have enough space and I need to free it up.  I don't get why when there's a lot of space on my hard drive and I don't have any saved games on there.  I've screen shot the message and done a DxDiag on the computer.  Has anyone else ever encountered this problem before?

Wow- looked at the dxdiag and your machine has 16GB of RAM but the page file shows 30.5 GB of RAM being used and only 670MB available, so that is your issue.  You must have every app on the machine running- so start by turning off everything that is non urgent and clear out the apps that are loading at start up.

As others have said - it's the RAM that is being used here, nothing to do with disk space.

The message for the error says it's looking for 3.8mb (3801604 bytes) of memory and it hasn't got any.

IN addition to the post by @XaW I would recommend that you run CCLeaner https://www.ccleaner.com/

I suspect the large page file is just a symptom of the issue at hand tbh... reducing the page file would probably be the right call for this case, but the issue, as Frazt has alluded to is probably the amount of other apps or malware possibly going on in the background at the same time... all they need to do is check what's running process wise and cut it all out i suspect.

Just had a look at the link that XaW posted my guess is that the save game is corrupted and it could possibly be a memory leak, although i'm no expert by any means

shame the OP hasn't been back really, would have liked to have found out what the problem was

I've got the same problem as well for my son's game, I'm not a major comp tech, my friend came over tried fixing it, worked for half an hour and the same thing keeps happening. I haven't got a clue what to do next, it's a brand new computer he got at Christmas, and only other thing he uses it for is for homework for school.

If you change your virtual memory does this stop the issue occurring? Details on how to do this here - https://www.pcworld.com/article/2840886/if-windows-virtual-memory-is-too-low-you-can-increase-it-but-there-are-trade-offs.html

If that doesn't help, best to contact support here for further help - https://support.sega.co.uk/hc/en-gb/requests/new

Thanks.
