It doesn't seem to benchmark quite as strongly as the M1 chip in the newer Macs, but it's a very capable CPU and will allow you to play in 3D if you want to as well.  I think this is likely as good as you will get within the budget.

Hi guys, what’s your thoughts on this laptop for FM 22??

Other than updating your games drivers, head over to Nvidia website and download their driver updates.

Else you can visit the support forum on these forums.

You could try this first

I have the same specs but a TI version of the 1050.

I get between 48-56 fps on high settings. Not enough to match the refresh rate of the screen so its not smooth but doesn't bother me.

That CPU is showing its age but can still do a job as along as you don't load too many leagues.

Thanks guys. I went through the NVidia and windows settings to try and optimise everything where possible but it was still lagging on auto framerate. I dropped the framerate down to 25 however and it seems to be stable in game after playing through a few matches. I think the CPU is struggling to keep up with the graphics which is leading to the lag - I turned the NVidia fps counter on and could see it dropping all the way down to 10 or 11 when it wasn't locked and then it would struggle to catch back up. Playing at 25fps is fine for me if it's smooth and removes the lag so I think I'll stick with that.

I have a modest budget of approx £400 and really looking for something that will process FM at a good speed, but I play with 2D match engine so graphics not an issue. I’m not really going to be using this for anything other than FM and a bit of browsing.

I have come across this - only has an i3 processor, would this be sufficient and could I do better under £400? TIA

Been looking on this thread for a while now, thought I would ask for a recommendation before ordering anything....I am finally due an upgrade from a 6-7 year old MSI, MS-16GH.

My budget is between £6-800, it will only be used for FM22, 3D ME, 4-5 leagues on a large database.

Medion Erazer models look ideal...

Contact Nvidia support - they will be able to give you the correct graphics driver. I had similar issue with LA Noire - and Nvidia support were brilliant.

Do you have any other alternatives priced around the same?

As the one you linked to was a 13 inch laptop - I think for the same price you can get the Macbook Air M1 with 512gb storage - it will be far better than what you linked to.

Outside of 13 inch this would be very good indeed

I loaded 9 nations, 20 leagues, large database, I think that's around 50000 players, 3 stars and it's super fast.

That's great to hear.

It's about the same as my 4 year old Dell that has an i7 7700hq - 8gb RAM.

I play about 100 seasons - currently playing 30 leagues, and about 50000 players.

Superfast for me too - I paid £799 4 years ago.

It would run it - but Black Friday will be coming up soon - plus Christmas sales.
Can you wait a few more weeks/months and save a bit more?

Hello guys

Iam clueless when it comes to computers so asking for some help please

Iam wanting a desktop only to play FM and browse the internet occasionally, I like to load up all the badge, kit, player faces graphic packs. Also a large database with 6/7 leagues loaded.

With only playing FM I don’t want to spend a fortune if Its going to be overkill for FM. I have a budget around £700/800 but will pay more if needs be. If possible I would like to be able to play fm for 3/4 years before upgrading/buying a new computer.

Any help would be much appreciated thanks.

Thanks for the reply :)  The one laptop I originally linked to you was priced at £670. I don't think I can get a new MacBook Air M1 with 512gb storage for that? I would love to be able to purchase that though!

Do you have anything priced around £600 mark that would be suitable?

Thanks

So you've gone from £800 to £1000 back down to £670 down to £600???

Apologies for any confusion.

I want to play FM2022. I haven't played FM on pc/laptop for about 9 years

My laptop is old and won't handle anything past FM09

I want a PC preferable or laptop and my budget is around £700 all in (pc monitor)

I'm not tech savvy at all I don't even know if PCs at that price will run FM22 to a decent standard (I won't be playing 3d, but I want it to run fairly quickly.)

The pc will only be used for FM and storing pictures and music on

I'm getting a new pc in the next week or two. It will have an AMD 5900x, the guys building it can overclock it for me.

So would an overclock result in increased processing speed of Football Manager?

I do like to load a large amount of leagues and players...usually around 150-170k. So a performance increase would be welcomed especially when 4+ seasons in.

Hi guys. I am looking for advice on a new laptop. I only use it for FM and basic browsing, emails etc

I don't want to spend that much on it and don't need anything special, just to be able to play FM at a decent speed.

Any advice on what to go for? I want to spend around £400 ideally.

Cheers

Although it says Windows 10 Home for the OS.

When I compared this one to your one - it didn't show an OS for my one.

So maybe check that out before buying.

Other thing is this one is white - so could look dirty from fingerprints after a while.

And it's a 16 inch screen - not 17 inch.

Don't overclock just yet - wait and see if it's performing ok without overclocking.

If you want to boost performance and max out performance for benchmarking - then maybe.

But it's a good processor and shouldn't need overclocking for FM.

It won't matter if you do it now or later - just see how it's going first.

Only difference is colour - as far as I can see.

Should be ok for FM.

With a low price you're making sacrafices

No dedicated graphics card - so match settings for 3D on low-medium (more towards low)

Smaller Hard Drive - 256gb might fill up quickly.

So, I am finally upgrading my ageing PC for a new year of glorious FM hate/love adventures, and I am looking to buy one of the new Adler Lake processors. I get I'll have to buy a new motherboard, but with the new atx12vo standard, will I have to buy a new PSU, replace my Asus Xonar sound card, buy a new graphics card (GTX 1080), and so on as well? I have tried to google, but it's just a crazy jungle of words to me.

When it gets going it really gets going and is pretty audible, but those have been rare occurrences that I can't really pin down to specific in-game events. It is not when a match is running in 3D so I assume it relates to specific processing spikes, however when I've had the AMD Performance Metrics running, it shows that the CPU utilisation is usually only at around 8%.

It has a few profile options (Gaming, eSports, Power Saving and Standard). I'm just on Standard. The Power Saving mode reduces noise apparently. The fan has only kicked in about five times in almost 50 hours of FM22 Beta.

Hi all,

Been reading with interest and thought I'd reach out for some help.

I haven't played FM since 2016, but going to get back into it this year.

Looking for a laptop, 15 inch, that would run the following reasonably quickly:

Large database

Around 8/9 playable leagues

Graphics aren't a huge concern, as play in 2D, but would like to be able to watch 3D highlights even if low quality.

Budget of up to £600, but would like to spend less if possible.

Will only be used for simple browsing and word processing besides FM.

Thanks!

From a bit more digging through recent advice, it seems these 3 are all pretty good.

Which would you recommend most, and anything better for the same (or ideally less) money?

From my understanding, the Erazer has the strongest processor?

Processing speed is more important than graphics for me - will play 2D.

Thanks again!

Thanks again!

Thanks for these. I'm looking for similar to you and same budget

From a bit more digging through recent advice, it seems these 3 are all pretty good.

Which would you recommend most, and anything better for the same (or ideally less) money?

Having had my Medion Erazer from box.co.uk for a number of days now, I can definitely recommend them to anyone who is debating whether to take the plunge.

I got this one and it's running like a dream. If anyone has any questions about it feel free to tag me and I'll get back to you.

How many leagues and nations you loaded and what did star rating show I know that can be miss leading tho lol

According to userbenchmark it's the Erazers. How reliable is that an indicator though?

When it gets going it really gets going and is pretty audible, but those have been rare occurrences that I can't really pin down to specific in-game events. It is not when a match is running in 3D so I assume it relates to specific processing spikes, however when I've had the AMD Performance Metrics running, it shows that the CPU utilisation is usually only at around 8%.

It has a few profile options (Gaming, eSports, Power Saving and Standard). I'm just on Standard. The Power Saving mode reduces noise apparently. The fan has only kicked in about five times in almost 50 hours of FM22 Beta.

You might be able to adjust the fans in the startup. Check it out.

I currently have a Lenovo Yoga 510. I don't know the spec if you would need that. Would this be able to run FM22? It is on its last legs though. Might buy me some time until the sales :)

Need the spec

Hi, i currently use a Windows 10 device with FM21 via Steam. If i purchase FM22 the same way can I use the same purchase if i bought a MacBook as my next upgrade?

Yes. It's linked to your steam account. You can back your games up to steam cloud too. Play on any computer, any time, anywhere, just login to steam.
