Kev, in your opinion would it likely run FM25 or would a better dedicated card be needed?   Any better that you could suggest?

FM25 is a complete unknown really, but I would suggest a dedicated graphics card to be on the safe side.

Something like this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Medion-Erazer-Crawler-Gaming-Laptop/dp/B08L55KL2D/ref=sr_1_3?qid=1696958468&refinements=p_n_feature_eighteen_browse-bin%3A27370276031%2Cp_n_feature_twenty-four_browse-bin%3A27399086031|27399087031%2Cp_n_feature_thirty_browse-bin%3A66003145031&rnid=66003062031&s=computers&sr=1-3&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.23648568-4ba5-49f2-9aa6-31ae75f1e9cd

Sorry, Kev.  Final question, if I upped my budget to around £800 is this as good as I could get?  Reviews are very good and seems to have all I’d need and the screen quality and size seem a big plus.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/ASUS-Vivobook-K3605ZC-i5-12450H-GeForce/dp/B0BSXDV24B/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=3O8HQT3OXDMV6&keywords=asus+laptop+vivobook+16+k3605zc&qid=1696960401&sprefix=asus+laptop+vivobook+16+k3605zc%2Caps%2C126&sr=8-3

You could get something with basically the same spec (aside from the display) for £700: https://www.argos.co.uk/product/3268753?clickPR=plp:1:20

This is one I have added to my shortlist. Seems to have a decent processor and 16GB of RAM which I'd prefer too.

I've set myself a budget of around £700 for a new laptop as my current one is pretty slow, especially on FM. Ideally want one that allows a large database size with not long processing times, and one that can also easily manage the demands FM25+ may bring. Is this probably the best one to go for in this price range?

Edit: also to be used for other stuff like Microsoft Word/Excel etc, but I'm assuming these "gaming" laptops are capable of such too.

It was the best overall deal I could find in terms of specs vs price, looking at Argos, Currys, Box, AO and Very.  Although the system requirements are an unknown for FM25, I can't imagine them increasing too drastically as SI have always tried to make the game playable on a wide range of hardware, so based on what I expect the system requirements to look like, this laptop should have be fine for FM25.

And yeah, this will handle basic stuff like MS Office apps without a problem.

Hi, looking to get a new laptop for fm24 and everyday use.

Is a surface pro a good Option? Saw this on currys

https://www.currys.co.uk/products/microsoft-13-surface-pro-9-intel-core-i5-256-gb-ssd-forest-10242781.html

It's fine as a portable option for FM23/FM24, but can't say how it will fare when it comes to FM25 as we don't have an indication of what the system requirements will be yet.

It is however considerably overpriced in terms of its spec.  You could get a much more powerful gaming laptop for a lower price than you'd pay for this.

Hello everyone, I’ve been looking to buy laptop for uni and fm but also don’t want to have to worry about being crucified by the required specs for fm25. Most I’m looking to spend is around £1000 range which fits perfectly into a MacBook Air M1/M2. Obviously no one knows for sure about the requirements for 25 but if anyone knows a bit more about specs than I do would one of these  MacBook Airs potentially be able handle the new graphics that will be in fm25

At this point, it's really hard to say whether any integrated GPU will be enough.  We don't have any indication yet on what the system requirements will be for FM25.  If you're buying now and are thinking FM25 and beyond, then your safest bet is going to be buying a gaming laptop.

However, we do know that the 2D view will still be available in FM25, so that should help at least as long as people don't mind using the 2D view.

Hi everyone,

Have been reading through a lot of recent posts in this threads and narrowed my selection down to a few laptops. Sorry I am really not a techy person so I’m sorry if these questions sound daft! I’m looking for ideally £500 and I know the specifications haven’t been released for FM25 but really don’t want to have to upgrade my laptop next year as FM is the only reason I have a laptop! From reading the previous posts it seems the main advice is a dedicated graphics card.

I seen this one comes recommended which is in my budget which I’m edging towards:

https://www.box.co.uk/82K101J7UK-Lenovo-IdeaPad-Gaming-3-Intel-Core-i5-8G_4378161.html

Few alternatives at a push would be these below, however don’t want too spend too much as our wedding is approaching and may not go ahead if I blow the budget :D Would be keen to know the main benefits also why it would be worth going for these or if the one above should be suitable.

Any thoughts? Thank you in advance.

In that case, does anyone have recommendations on gaming laptops within the £1000 range that doesn’t look too gimmicky ? Since I wanna use it for Uni too. Thanks

The best one is the 3rd one, but you shouldn't have any issues with the first one so as you're looking to keep to a budget that is the one I'd suggest you go for.  :)

Hello. Keen to buy a new gaming PC (rather than laptop) and this seems to be the right place to ask!

Main games I will play are FM and Pro Cycling Manager (similar in terms of requirements).

I'd like a machine that is ideally upgradeable as and when I need it (for a noob) - and is ideally "future proofed" for if I want to for instance play more graphic intensive games.

Also keen for advice on monitors.

Budget about £1000 but could stretch a little.

Something like this would be good and would be upgradable later on:

In terms of monitor, what's your requirements?

Thank you for this. A few questions if I may:

  1. I already have a Windows 11 License Key. If I were to buy this and select to remove Windows, it saves nearly £100. I could then add the recovery image option on the USB drive for £5. Would that allow me to install Windows myself easily onto the machine when it arrives?
  2. After posting I went back a few pages and FINALLY found somebody asking you about desktops and you recommended this one --> https://www.box.co.uk/Cube-Mythic_4740361.html?config=2336001,3608339,4086959,4537730,4898838 . I have gone through and seen all the different options. Is there a reason the one you've recommended here is superior to this?
  3. The monitor I have already is this --> https://www.amazon.co.uk/Philips-line-278E1A-DisplayPort-speakers/dp/B07TPFVXWJ. Will it do the PC I buy justice?

Has the new laptop for FM 24 and FM25? finally arrived.
Surely it won't be much for some of you but for me it means a big step forward.

Asus Gaming Tuf Dash F15
Intel Core i7 12650H
16 GB Ram DDR 5 4800 Mhz
SSD 512 GB NVMe, PCIe Gen3 x4
NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 3050 4GB GDDR6

Knowing that the SSD could be too small in the near future and in order not to open the laptop so as not to lose the warranty, I did the following.

Buy an M2 NVME 2 TB, place it in a carry case and connect it to the Thundebolt 4 port using a USB C cable.

On the secondary disk I installed FM23 and so far everything works wonderfully and with excellent performance.

What opinions do you have of the Laptop and the M2 NVME connected to USB?

Or this one looks decent? Is the processor sufficient?

It is, the one at Box will be better.

I was going for the upgradeable idea, forgetting that Box had the ones like this which will also be nicely upgradeable!

The monitor you already have will be absolutely fine.

If you already have a licence key for Windows then it should be easily installable the way you desribed.

Thank you

I ended up going for the Cube one from Box - with a 1TB SSD ; Intel i7-12700F ; 16GB 3200 RAM ; GeForce 4060

Came to £975

do you approve? Possibly not too late for me to change it!!!

So... I was going to update my PC for FM24 a few months ago, but decided to wait for Intels 14:th gen processors. Internet says October 17:th, but isn't it awfully quiet about them if they are only days away?  Should I just buy a 13700K?

Totally up to you. The 13700k is fantastic, so up to you if you want to wait for the next generation.

would this one work?

My apologies for the website being in Dutch, i couldn't find this laptop on the English website.

Yes, that will be absolutely fine.

And no need to apologise for the site being in Dutch.  Thankfully Chrome has a translate tool, which is very handy!

Yes, will be fine for FM24.

If you're thinking further ahead to FM25 though, not sure how it will be with the 3D graphics when that comes around.

Going to buy a new screen for a new computer and mainly for playing FM24. So I guess color and contrast are important factors in choosing a screen to buy? Update frequency not as important, not gonna play any CS or any first person 3D games.

Max 500 euro budget and max 27 inches screen. What kind of screen panel type do you recommend for FM? IPS or VA? TN seems to have too bad colors in comparison with IPS. Any nice reading? Thanks in advance!

It's hard to suggest what to go for, when I have no idea what your preferences for various things are - it's not quite as clear cut as recommending PC specs.

I'd recommend having a read of this and then deciding what will work best for your own needs:
