DazRTaylor
End of Season Review Season 2022/23 Rot-Weiss Essen Season Summary A good first season where a fourth place finish meant qualification for the domestic cup next year. Season Details League Table - We were always in contention for promotion, though we fell just short. League Fixtures 1 & 2 - A poor second half of the season cost the club any chance of promotion. Pre Season Friendlies - With only two losses in our eight games, it was a pleasing pre season campaign. Squad - Good enough though there are still some holes that need filling. Squad Dynamics - As lovely as always. Transfers In 1 & 2 - I overhauled the squad, primarily with free transfers and loans. Transfers Out - I moved quite a few fringe and second team players on, freeing up some wage budget. Youth Candidates - An excellent first intake with attacking midfielder Lukas Bonmann YP23A1 looking like a fine prospect. Finances - We have slipped into the red though not by much. Key Players Yannick Langesberg - Central defender who played way above his normal level. Julian Günther-Schmidt - Signed on a free transfer from Saarbrücken, the striker had a good first season at the club. Cédrick - Another free transfer acquisition, the DR Congo international can play on either wing and had a great campaign. Lukas Kunze - Signed for a club record £33,000 from Vfl Osnabrück, the central midfielder was exceptional. Mehmet Kurt - The best loan signing we made, the defensive midfielder arrived from Wiesbaden for the season and played very well. Next Season A promotion push is essential. Tecmo
A bit of a frustrating 3rd season in Scotland. Started out great, then got some extra cup games and then the 4-3-3 we were using pretty much stopped working. And then we lost our best attacking midfielder to a 4 month injury so back to our midfield diamond. Still sitting in 2nd over halfway through. _JHTB_
Donegal Celtic Season 10 – Danske Bank Premier League – 1st Best XI – Squad – Key Player – Hot Prospect Overview Transfer Window: Incomings: We had a very quiet window this season, I was very happy with my squad overall so didn’t feel the need to make too many signings, only three signings that weren’t for the future, all three were loanees (although we did retain a few loanees from the previous season). A new goalkeeper was the top of our list and Gemma was who we ended up with, not streets ahead of who we had already, but an improvement, nonetheless. To go with the Argentine Gemma, we also brought in two other South American youngsters in Gilberto and Paulo Jose from Brazil, relatively cheap in wages and pretty good. In January, we made another loan signing, Humphries, from Tottenham, but he was very much a fringe player. Outgoings: Like the majority of our previous seasons’ outgoings, most were again on loan this time round. We did however, make our record sale £30.5k for Caton, which looks worse when he is actually our record incoming transfer and that was for £54k. We did actually accept a £2.8m offer for Doyle from Southampton but I asked the board to renegotiate and they withdrew their offer, probably a mistake in hindsight as every other offer for him was like £23k, but I want to keep him around. Europe: I think we got our toughest qualifying draw this season, but we did manage to prevail against Ludogorets, HJK, Dinamo Zagreb and Cluj. All of these ties were pretty close, but we didn’t lose a single leg of any of the ties so did eventually manage to make the group stage of the Champions League which is much earlier than I’d have anticipated us making it. The Champions League is hard, we were drawn in a group with Real Madrid, Inter Milan and Hertha Berlin. About as tough a group that we could have got which saw us comfortably beaten in our first 3 group games. I did in the end start working on a tactic that we could try utilise. We did still lose our last 3 of the group, but they were closer losses so I was happy enough with them. League: Completely dominant performance from us in the league, beating every team with no real hairy moments that would have seen us lose our invincible season. One of the two draws was actually a game we should have won, but I can’t complain all too much. We also only conceded 12 goals this season as well. Cup: Much like the league, we were mostly untroubled in the cup competitions this season either going on to win the League Cup and the County Antrim Shield without conceding a single goal. The Irish Cup was not the same story, it took us till extra time to beat a 2nd tier team in the 5th round, but it was the same outcome in the end, us reaching and winning the final. The final itself was a frustrating ordeal, comfortably dominating the match to in the end only winning it on penalties, but a win is a win nonetheless and we’ve now won every domestic trophy on offer to us. We also this season won the Irish Champions League for the first time making the only games we lost in all competitions this season were in the Champions League Group stages. Next Season I’ve already converted a couple of the loanees to permanent signings for the new season, so I anticipate I’ll not be massively busy in the transfer window again this season. Most signings I think will just be for depth, but, I’m not going to say no if the right player comes up to strengthen the squad. I may also be happy to sell some players this summer just to try and stop us being as reliant on money generated from reaching group stages of European competition. Next season, we’re obviously going to aim to retain all our domestic titles, but I think I’d prefer to qualify for one of the lesser European competitions next season as they will give us a better chance of increasing our coefficient (and eventually get easier passage into Europe). Players of note Ross Watson – Watson is prolific for us, 40 league goals for us in 32 games is a fantastic feat, though, 13 of those were from the penalty spot. For the league he’s fantastic, but I can’t help to think that for European Competitions this will be a position we might need to improve as the seasons go on. Stuart Crooks – Another great season for Crooks this season, consistently a good performer for us at the heart of defense. He also managed to secure himself 2 international caps this season. Rhys Guppy – A fantastic season from the academy product. 17 goals and 13 assists in the league he’s now cemented himself as our starting player on the right wing. He did attract some interest in January, but we instead managed to tie him down to a long term contract which I’m happy with. Youth Watch Sam Doyle – Doyle, like Guppy is now a mainstay in our starting eleven, he’s been developing nicely this season, but was unhappy for a lot of it due to me rejecting a bid from Udinese in the summer. After failed transfer attempts in January he eventually dropped his concerns and agreed a new contract. Matthew Mulligan – Unfortunately Mulligan rejected the loan deal we’d set up for him so only ended up a fully fringe player this season. I may be tempted to sell my 3rd choice centre back and have Mulligan take that spot. Barry O’Connor – O’Connor has developed a lot in the under 23s this season, he needs a loan next season, but I’m considering whether he will leapfrog Mulligan in the pecking order, but in truth both of them would benefit from regular game time. _JHTB_
Oh, and also, we're getting a new stadium of less capacity than our old one. _JHTB_
And just like that, our record sale. The board had accepted an offer from under me without me having the opportunity to protest it, thankfully Barnsley also bid but for a lesser amount and I was able to persuade them to offer more money. Of course, given I negotiated the deal with Barnsley I had the opportunity to cancel the transfer altogether, but it's a lot of money for us and I think (as good as he is for us) he has reached his potential. I wanted to give one of our young centre backs some playing time but Oliver was a team leader so couldn't really drop him without issues now I can blood a youngster more readily. aldojags
@_JHTB_what a season! Dimestic stuff seems easy for you know, just need to close the go ap in Europe which im sure you’ll do judging by quality of the loanees you’re getting now, i agree a season ir 2 in europa conference wouldnt hurt just to get some wins and build up your reputation. Champions league is difficult and with your smaller budgets it’ll take a while. But great save so far, some of the players especially the home grown ones are great. Thebaker
2028 Table | Squad | Transfers Brought in a new GK who was a disaster and as a result made a terrible start to the season. After 18 games the team had 18 points with 18 goals scored and 25 conceeded and was in the relegation spots. We then won 6 in a row and ended the season 14 games unbeaten. In the last 12 games the team had 30 points with 28 goals scored and 5 conceeded to finish 3rd overall. In the swedish cup 1st rd the team was away to league topping Eskilstuna at the end of the poor run and lost 2-4. Finances are beginning to look dire as costs continue to mount. The board did surprisingly agree an increase in junior coaching which i hope will increase the starting CA of the youth players. Currently they are too low and just never increase to be good enough to play in the first team. The first non-swedish youth player apppeared this year. One of the reasons for the improvement was the sudden increase in goals from set pieces as Palmquist just couldn't stop scoring. My best player Kruger has unfortunately left at the end of the season after 79 apps and 17 goals as the team was not good enough. Youth product Nilsson (99 apps, 25 goals) also left as he was no longer good enough. DazRTaylor
End of Season Review Season 2024/25 Excelsior Maassluis Season Summary A season of triumph as, with an army of loan signings, we secured promotion to the top flight by winning the league. Season Details League Table - We were more than strong enough to secure promotion with two games remaining. The title itself was secured on the last day. League Fixtures 1 & 2 - Whilst we didn't lose many games, we did draw more than we should. TOTO KNVB Beker - We were convincingly beaten at home by top flight AZ Alkmaar in the second round. Pre Season Friendlies - Losing three of our nine games was not ideal, though it could of been worse. Squad - I have secured quite a few of our loanees for next season too, so I feel we re more than good enough to compete in the top tier. Squad Dynamics - As lovely as always. Transfers In 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5 - I completely overhauled the squad. So many loan signings, many of which never played for the club as a scatter gun approach was used. We found enough gems though. Transfers Out - None. Youth Candidates - A fairly decent intake, with central midfielder Gerrie Iliohan YP25F6 looking like a fine prospect. Finances - After making a small profit this season, we have a comfortable bank balance and with the prize money on offer in the top flight, this should only improve further. Key Players Eros Maddy - One of the few players we own, the left winger never let us down when called upon. Vladimir Rusu - Portuguese Under 21 international right back signed on loan from Sporting Lisbon for the year and had a great time. Roberto Neves - Another Portuguese Under 21 international, this central defender had an excellent season after signing on loan from Benfica. Guillaume Martins - Arriving from Genk on loan in January, the Belgian Under 21 international played with maturity beyond his years. Domingos Soeiro - Yet another Portuguese under 21 international, the defensive midfielder had a solid season after signing on loan from Leicester City. Next Season A nice, safe, mid table finish would be just fine. Unfortunately, the board is starting to annoy me, firstly with Oliver above accepting from under us, and now again with homegrown lad Doyle, another £2.3M transfer or so which in isolation is ok, but I managed to secure a £10M bid for him from Brighton so it's not like teams weren't willing to pay more they just bit at the first offer (actually second I protested the first time round after a £1Mn was accepted). @DazRTaylor I got confused looking at the league table at first, guess left is home, right is away? The Art of Drowning
FK TYUMEN Season 7– Tinkoff Russian Premier League – 3rd League Table Overview We were never really in a title race, in fact before the winter break we looked like we were going to finish lower than the previous couple of years. I changed the system after the winter break to a slightly edited version of a formation I used in FM21 and we were unbeaten for the final 9 games and almost gave us a chance of winning it. I think if we would have held on at home to Zenit instead of drawing we would have gone on to win it. I'm hoping the good form will continue into a new season and maybe we can put up a prolonged challenge. Annoyingly 3rd only enters us into the qualifying rounds of the Conference League Transfers Transfers Part 1 Transfers Part 2 Ratnikov our only big money signing, he is 18 and came through the Standard Liege youth system but looks like possibly the most promising young Russian player in the game. Others are Russian squad players and a young Turkish left back who will be first choice. Important to get as many good Russian players as possible due to the foreign limits here. Yet another profitable window but financially we still rely on selling players to stay in the black, really need some European money. Key Players Rondinele Azevedo - He has really stepped up this year, by far our best player now and really valuable at set pieces. He's also a couple of years away from gaining Russian citizenship providing Brazil don't call him up. Silas Nwankwo - 22 goals for the Nigerian striker this year, he's pretty irreplaceable at the moment, would hate to see how bad we'd be if he got injured for a prolonged period. Ivan Flores - I tried playing him as part of a strike partnership with Nwanwko earlier in the season and it went well for him, unfortunately the system didn't really work for us overall though so he's back to playing as an Inside Forward on the right again. Britrock
Hyeres 83 FC - 2025/26 season review Yet another disappointing season. I was aiming for promotion but in reality that was never on as Valenciennes and Le Mans ran away with the top two places (Le Mans were 15 points clear of 3rd place). I had a terrible season, at one point I was changing tactics almost every other game trying to make something happen. Looking at the results there were a lot of boring games - we didn't score at all in 10 games and only scored once in 16 games! There were 10 1-1 draws! We still somehow ended up 8th highest scorers though, because we managed to win 4-0 three times and 5-1 once among the other games! One aim for next season is to score more goals consistently! We got through to the 9th round of the cup again, losing to Nimes this time (Ligue 2 team). Spoiler Star player was probably Louis Carnot, a newly signed midfielder who had 15 assists and 8 goals (mostly penalties), Balla Sangare kept banging in the goals again, this time finishing top scorer in the league with 21. Aaron Kamardin was great at the back, but now hates me because I played him as a ball playing defender and not a central defender as promised. More proof the promises system is totally broken in FM. Hopefully by next season he'll have forgotten about it and be willing to move past it. Spoiler I really struggled with the season, it's really trying my patience getting out of this league. We're still semi-pro with no chance of going professional, so we're at a huge disadvantage there. The attendance has barely moved since I arrived, so there's just no money coming in to the club to improve wages and sign better players. We're still stuck only able to scout France so I can't even pick up cheap youngsters from abroad to help. It's a bit of a spiral at the moment that I'm not sure how to get out of! I'll keep plugging away slowly as I've invested too much time now to start another save! Edited December 29, 2021 by Britrock

aldojags
Season Review 2026/27 Table | Fixtures 1 & 2 | Club Vision | Facilities | Finances | Manager Profile 2nd season in the Bundesliga, pleased with the improvement (12th last season to 9th this season, 38 pts to 45), but frustrated as I was in a good shout for the 7th placed Europa Conference slot, but just lose far too many matches and concede far too many goals to ever seriously challenge the top teams, I thought I'd be able to improve on goals conceded this year, but it wasn't much better - 70 last season, 68 this season! 68 goals in 34 league matches, you can't do much when you average 2 goals conceded a match, that is mental! But overall a good solid season where we were never in danger, despite the continued financial disadvantage we're at compared to rest of the league, we punched way above our weight. Overall story of the league was that Dortmund won the league, ending a run of 14 consecutive league titles for Bayern Munich. Facilities - getting an upgrade already to our new stadium, which makes total sense as we were at 99% capacity for the season, so whilst I am sad to see £10m go out the door that i could have spent on players, I appreciate that we need to grow the club with an eye on the long term, not going to be a quick fix winning the Bundesliga so best to take the long view I suppose! Money - was haemorrhaging money all year, but that's due to the cheap admission prices in Germany and poorer gate receipts I think, and you don't get TV revenue, just the money at the end, I got £50m for where I finished in the league, which wiped out my debt, so I am happy with that. Team Mostly same squad as last year give or take 3 or 4 new signings of note. Best new face to show you was Jonas David (realise his attributes are covered in that slide - left it in so you could see his season stats, but here he is so you can see all attributes), a German CB who was previously at Hamburg in the league below, he wasn't a regular for them but he was going on a free and I liked look of him - he initially got in team when I was playing a back 3 at start of season on the right as a wide centre back, and he never looked back and was our best player this year in my opinion, even when we moved to a back 4. Yordanov was a striker signed on a free from the Bulgarian leagues and I was really pleased with what he was able to do, if I recall correctly he scored a hat trick on his debut, or may have been his 2nd game, but it was early. I probably shouldn't have given him a four year contract but I was desperate at the time for warm bodies who wanted to play for us, but he did well! Stoisavljevic arrived for £650k, did ok too for a first season, like Yordanov probably going to be replaced within a year or 2 once I get more money and access to more talented players, but he'll do for just now! A good age too. Last new face who featured regularly was my 16 year old home grown midfielder Kevin Meissner - I think this boy is going to be class, I'm going to play him every week and see where we go, I think in 3-4 years he could be a target for some big clubs. Scored a great free kick during the season too so he's going to be a goal threat too despite me playing him in a defend duty as a CM. Everyone else in the squad pretty much same faces I've had for couple of seasons. Youth Intake Intake Like every intake in FM, predicted to be a golden generation, and I really like the look of the top 3 players from it. I definitely remember screenshotting the preview but cannot seem to find it in my folder. Leandro Allheilig - looks promising! Oliver Ganz - going to be the first to taste first team for me, my right backs are both over 30, and out of contract after this year, giving serious thought to handing him the position next year maybe when he's 17, he's going to be a Bundesliga calibre player in a few years i'm sure. Tim Maier - looks good. And strangely one of my youth trialists got capped for German youth team whilst on trial with me! Didn't sign him! Also - with German national team issue on FM, can newgens get called up for senior team or will it always be blank? Part of a save for me is watching my youngsters get capped but will be a shame if the German team is blocked off? Just full of greyed out players just now? Next season Given how close I was to 7th and getting into Europe, that is my target this year. I have no right to expect to do it, the budgets of some of these teams are ridiculous, board will be happy with midtable and maybe I will too and just keep adding young talent to the squad and make a push for Europe in 2-3 seasons. I have made some good signings, I am definitely going to be stronger, but I have no budget left and still have glaring holes in areas of the team, probably most notably both full back areas. New signings - Borukov - another striker arriving on a free from Bulgaria! I think he looks great. Michelis - £1m for this Greek CB - I want CB's who can pass, he'll play on the left beside Jonas David and hopefully we'll stop some of the bone headed loss of possessions that we regularly do - has anyone else noticed this? I play out from the back, but once a match my CB's do something nuts and put the opposition through on goal! Zeman - young midfielder from Czech Republic on a free - i am going to play him as number 10, I think he looks to have huge potential. Bidstrup, tidy midfielder arrived on a free from Brentford. And last but by no means least, the biggest outlay financially in my time, by quite some distance, Andi Zeneli, a 21 year old Swedish midfielder from Brondy, for £8m rising to £10m, I wanted something different for the middle of the park, too many average journeymen, but this boy appeared on my scout reports, and I knew he had to be mine, spent all my transfer budget on him apart for the £1m for Michelis above, and gave him a ridiculous wage that we cannot yet afford, but I am getting impatient and fed up of feeding on scraps of bosmans and other teams cast offs! I think Zeneli will be a stud for us. Season Div Pos Cup Ave Att Europe WC/Euros ECC EC EC2 Ballon D’Or Highest world transfer 2022/23 3. I'm actually a little bit tempted to sell him if I can get a decent fee, there's this Japanese striker who I've been eyeing up for a few years now, he's not interested in joining me yet though. Definitely need to get him in, he is outstanding!

_JHTB_
Donegal Celtic Season 11 – Danske Bank Premier League – 1st Transfers – Best XI – Squad – Key Player – Hot Prospect Overview Transfer Window: Incomings: I converted a few of my loanees into permanent signings this year with Gemma, Trabelsi and Kaue all now owned by the club outright which puts on a bit more stable footing. In other main incomings for the summer window we only had the loans of Jones from Manchester City and Diallo from Leicester. We did make a few transfers in January, but only really Martinez made many appearances. Outgoings: Our first major transfers this summer, both instigated by the board which was disappointing, but did also allow for us to not have to rely on European football for income. First out was Oliver who went to Barnsley for £2.3m, he went straight into their team playing Championship football so gives me some notion on my squad’s strength. Later in the window home grown right back Doyle left again for £2.3m, however, they did offer us a loan back so it didn’t cause us much disruption. Europe: This season was actually our worst showing in the Champions League qualifying, a straightforward victory over Valur of Iceland, but a tough draw against Olympiakos saw us relegated to Europa League Qualifying. Our two ties there gave us no issues though and we found ourselves in the Europa League Group stage. We got a quite nice group draw alongside Rangers, Anderlecht and Astana and we actually were unlucky not to top the group. Us, Rangers and Anderlecht each won all our home games and beat Astana twice to see us all tied on 12 points atop the group. Unfortunately, Anderlecht beating us 2-0 to our 2-1 saw us 3rd in head to head though we ended with the best goal difference of the group. Third, of course, did see us into the Conference League knockouts where we faced Austrian outfit LASK and won the tie pretty comfortably to get to the next round where we faced French giants Lyon. I thought we were going to get blown out the water, but it was a close fought tie eventually losing 2-1 on aggregate after extra time in the second leg. League: We lost for the first time in over a season this time out which was disappointing, but we are getting ever closer a perfect season as we won the other 37 games. We conceded a few more this season, but that’s because I decided to go a little bit more attacking in general, 144 goals to our name. Cup: We didn’t actually win all the cups this season, the League Cup and County Antrim Shield both have games which fall within the international break which I chose not to postpone when given the option due to call ups. This meant a not full choice team for both games and ultimately two losses to Linfield. We did retain both the Irish Champions League and the Irish Cup with no real issues however. Next Season By my calculations we have enhanced our Nation Club Coefficient to 20th following our European exploits, but we need to get to 17th for the next boost to qualification places so, I’m aiming to have another similarly promising European Campaign if I can. Maybe finally another Northern Irish team can make a group stage though I’m not holding out much hope. My squad as a whole is far and away the best team in Northern Ireland so again no wholesale changes will be necessary, plus we’re at a stage where players who can improve us cost more than we are willing to pay, we really need an overall reputation boost for the club (and hopefully before long the league). Both Club and League are only 2 star reputation. Players of note Rhys Guppy – What a player, I’ll be devastated when the board inevitably sell him from under me, but Guppy has gone from strength to strength this season. 21 goals and 15 assists in the league with a further 17 goals and 5 assists in all other competitions, all from the right wing. He is contracted for 5 years but I think the board will bite too soon on offers for him unfortunately. Barry O’Connor – Another homegrown talent, following the sale of Oliver last summer I decided to take the plunge and play O’Connor over our previous 3rd choice centre back. A good decision, he managed 7 league goals for us this season and a 7.69 average rating in the league. He’s another I’m anticipating interest for this summer. Karoly Somogyi – He’s been with us a few years now, and in fairness arguably should have been covered in other seasons, but he had a great season this time out 17 league assists from the heart of our midfield. I was contemplating selling him last summer but I’m glad I offered him a new contract instead. My main issue is his wage demands and relatively short contract length means I may have to consider selling again. Youth Watch Sam Doyle – Although Doyle was a nailed on starter for us this season, it’s also his last at the club as I won’t be renewing his loan next season. A good advert for our academy as we got £2.3m for him, but I anticipate he’ll be sat in Southampton’s U23s rather than playing next season. Matthew Mulligan – Mulligan has stagnated due to not being able to secure any loan for him. I think I’ll be looking to sell him to a domestic team for the good of him and hopefully the league as a whole. Pat Daly – Like Mulligan, Daly has been in need of a loan to realise his potential, but as none are forthcoming, it’s looking like a permanent move away may be in the offing. aldojags
Great season @_JHTB_always enjoy your updates sounds a bit like my bulgarian save in this thread last year - took a few years of just plugging away slowly building reputation of league until you hopefully get past point of board over ruling you. Happened to me a lot in beginning was infuriating but eventually i got high enough rep that i could hold onto players a bit more. Rhys Guppy has a huge future, he’ll play in the premiership i imagine!
The Art of Drowning
FK TYUMEN Season 8 – Tinkoff Russian Premier League – 1st League Table Europe Early Fixtures Route to Final Overview Joy and heartbreak this season as we finally won the league but fell at the final hurdle in a surprise Uefa Conference League run. We were helped this season by having a far greater depth to our squad, it meant there wasn't much of a drop off in quality if we ever got injuries or suspensions. In fact we mostly used the Conference league to play a 2nd XI and still got some really good victories there. Getting Champions League money will be so vital to us, we made a big profit on transfers again but yet again ended the season in the red as we lose money at such a rapid rate. Not helped by only getting around 6k fans in our 13k seater stadium for most games. I'm considering a bit of a clear out now too, Nwankwo dropped off a bit this season so I may try and get some younger players in to fill the foreign player slots. Key Players Ali Sohrabi - Glad I got him to renew his contract but he is now one of our top earners, very solid centre back though who has been with us since he was 18. I do like having a left footer at left centre back. Martin Plsek -Sohrabi's first choice partner in defence, Czech international cost just £60k and was not only part of a solid defence but also takes a mean penalty. Rondinele Azevedo - Another strong season from the Brazilian midfielder, and less than a year away from gaining Russian citizenship

I found the conference league incredibly frustrating last year when managing in Greece. I think I got to the final 3 years in a row, only to run into an English or Spanish team who made us look like a bunch of amateurs! Good luck in the UCL, the money is insane compared to the conference league!
The Art of Drowning
Cheers guys, yeah it's a funny one as it's a tournament of some teams who are really weak but others that are far too good. I had high hopes against Brentford having knocked out Spurs but we didn't really turn up in the final and deserved to lose. I've done what I said I'd do and had a bit of a risky clear out, including selling Nwankwo, big chance it backfires as barely any of the money was added to the transfer budget. Tecmo
The Spartans - Scotland - 2024/2025 Expectations met and we're happy. Didn't win the league but fought through the playoffs to get promoted to League 2. League Table We started the season strong with 4 wins and a draw to move into first. A loss to Clyde dropped us behind them and that's where we stayed for quite awhile until injuries and too many games in too short a span dropped our form a bit and put us in 3rd. We went back and forth with Stenhousemuir and ended up falling behind them at the end but we were comfortably top 3 the entire way. We got Stenhousemuir in the semi final, a team that we failed to score against in our four games, 3 0-1 losses and a 0-0 draw. Well, we broke the hex in a big way, putting 4 on them at home in the first leg to win 4-0. Cruise control and resting some players in the 2nd leg we lost 0-1 but advanced easily. Albion Rovers proved a much tougher challenge in the final. We played them pretty evenly away in the first leg but a late goal saw them win 2-1. The second leg saw my goalkeeper save an early penalty and we controlled the game with 42 shots, 21 on target but finished regular time up 2-1 so 3-3 on aggregate. No breakthrough in extra time so it went to penalties. My goalkeeper made another penalty save on the first shot but they returned the favor on our 3rd. Tied 3-3 after 4, their player blasted a shot over the net and my centerback slotted his penalty home to give us the win and promotion! Cups Premier Sports Cup - Not a fan of this, makes for a difficult preseason. Lost all four of our games in the group although we did give a couple bigger teams scares. SPFL Trust Trophy - Much better here, we beat up St. Johnstone's U21 team 4-1, then beat Stirling 1-0. Then we pulled off a pretty big upset away against the Rangers B team, beating them 1-0 and getting us to the quarter finals for the first time. We welcomed Arbroath from the Championship and the extra games caught up to us, seeing us lose 1-2 for a score that probably flattered us. Scottish Cup - A favorable second round draw put us up against Loussiemouth from the Highland league and we won 4-1. This put us up against Kelty Hearts, who have made it all the way to the Championship after being one of the playable teams for this in FM 21. We played them very tough at their place, taking an early lead before they tied it just before halftime. One of their players got a red card in the 67th minute but we were unable to take advantage, ending 1-1 to force a replay at our place. We were outplaying them until one of our players took a straight red just before halftime. They scored the first goal shortly after the half and we actually managed to get that goal back shorthanded but we just couldn't hold on and fell 3-1. Key Players Blair Henderson - Have to start with him as he won his 2nd career League 2 Player of the Year award and also led the league in goals for the second consecutive season. 19 goals along with 4 in the cups. He is signed for two more seasons so we'll see how he does in League 1 as he is about to turn 31. Innes Lawson - A player I signed from Edinburgh University, I've had my eye on him for two seasons but he refused to talk to us because of our rivalry. Finally listened and I snatched him up for a 8.5K fee. Very well suited for a left winger AML and that's what I promised him when I signed him. Started the season playing a 4-3-3 to accommodate this but we started to struggle and he tore a hamstring to miss 3 months so we moved back to the 4-4-2 diamond. When he returned I played him as a striker and he thrived scoring in his first game there and scoring 3 goals in the playoffs. 10 goals and 3 assists on the season but for some reason my board thinks he was a bad deal. More concerned about how he's going to react to playing out of his promised position. Harley Ewen - Signed on a free from Rangers, played mostly defensive midfielder for us although he can play centerback quite well too. Definitely helped the defense but we'll see if I can keep him next season as he is now wanted by several bigger teams. Harry Gordon - The engine of our midfield, has been with us for three seasons after signing from Hearts. Wanted to move to a bigger club this season but no one actually came in for him. Youth Intake We had our first two regens get called up to the Scotland U18 team. Particularly excited about GK Michael Kennedy, he served as my backup and cup goalkeeper this season and did very well. Ideally I'd loan him to a League 2 side next season but we'll see. Another good intake this season highlighted by left back Michael Anthony, who might be good enough to be our backup at that spot next season. Finances Hanging out just on the positive side, our wage bill has been increased by 50% so I'm guessing we will go negative next season. Looking Ahead I think we'll be sticking with our 4-4-2 diamond so my big need is going to be new fullbacks on both sides. There are a couple left backs playing in League 2 that I really like so I'll probably try poaching one of them. Probably have to look at upgrading at goalkeeper as well. My 19 year old was a hero in the finals but my coaches still see him as not even being League 2 standard. And Kennedy isn't quite ready yet so a loan may be in order. Will be interesting to see how my strikers do next season playing together fulltime for the first time. Ideally we can survive without dealing with the relegation playoffs, so 8th or higher is the goal.

jmarchand
Season 6 | 2027-2028 | Pushing up the SuperLig After surviving in the Super League last season, I was looking for consolidation and to start pushing up the league ladder. The media was still betting that we'd be relegated and were tipped at finishing 15th, with a 450-1 odd of winning the league. While this wasn't our expectation, a mid-table finish was in my mind. The board and everybody else was tipping us to fight bravely against relegation, we were in a nice spot in which we were in position to crush everyone's expectations and do much better. The Foreign spots were not shrunk like I had thought last year and still have these 10 foreign spots (with 6 max on the field at all times). Foreign players are like <insert your favorite thing to collect here>, you always want N+1. They have so much appeal, I always find a better one that what I had previously... Which leads to registration nightmares twice a year, to the point where I've been specifically looking for Turkish players in the last part of the year (without too much success, though), as I have confidence in my current foreign players to continue to lead the club and develop well. Transfers Talking about bringing too much foreign talent, I present exhibit 1. In the In column, we got Dejan Risetski for free, our next year starting goalkeeper (John Rivera) and Antoine Semenyo from Bristol. We also smashed the transfer record for Walter Tolosa. More on them at the bottom, in the notable players section. Yes. In the Out column, we cashed out on Mura Can Sevim, who failed to make an appearance for us after being on loan in the 2.League. He has some good potential, but not quite at the level we need, so I cashed out when a good offer came in. Nat Mills and Al-Matrooshi were loaned out to allow us to cope with foreign spots, there's a non-zero chance that Mills will be back with us next year, but if the right offer comes, I'll certainly take it. League Performance Turns out that a mid-table finish was really not out of reach for us...! Révélation We were still very well beaten by the top clubs - Besitkas and Trabzonspor were very strong this year - but we were not really nervous when facing the much of the rest of the league. That's a good spot to be in and challenge for one of the last European spots next year, Basaksehir FK is not untouchable. Galatasaray really had a bad year and Andrea Pirlo was sacked with 4 games remaining in the year, when the fell out to 6th place. Contrary to last year, we didn't slump even if we got a pretty good cup run, so that's also encouraging for the future. Turkish Cup A favourable draw in the cup saw us progress to the Quarter Finals, one round further than we've went previously. We then drew up against Trabzonspor and we couldn't match them. The Team The asymetric tactic has been working great for us, some kind of hybrid between 4-4-2 and 4-3-3 and instead of changing the shape, I've mostly adjusted the instructions to suit the oppositions that we were facing, which worked pretty well. One thing that doesn't show well in the Best XI screenshot is that Ramirez and Salman are inverted, leaving a bit more space to the winger. Probodziak got overtaken by Semenyo during the course of the year, but is the one what still shows up there... Révélation Individual highlights Niko Lippold - DC, DM, MC - 1 goal, 2 PoM, 7.15 avg. rating After a great initial season, Niko Lippold kept going strong, playing mostly in the defence, but making a few appearance as defensive midfielder when needed. He also agreed to a contract extension, getting rid of his 1.2M€ release clause, bumping it to 14M€, when a rival club in the Super League actually made an offer meeting that release clause. Dodged a bullet here...! Révélation Zain Al-Din Salman - ST - 21 goals, 5 assists, 5 PoM, 7.16 rating The Syrian international was our top scorer this year, showing a nice progression with 21 goals and he continues to do develop well. He has not yet attracted interest from other clubs, so I'm looking forward to keep him for a few other successful seasons. Révélation Walter Tolosa - DM,MC,AMC This is what our record signing fee of 1.3M€ was for. He played only the second part of the year, but was already quite dependable on the midfield. I think that I haven't yet found the best way to play him, but I love his potential. Révélation Antoine Semenyo - 15(4) apps, 2 goals, 9 assists, 2 PoM, 7.14 avg. rating An older signing that I'm used to do, Antoine Semenyo came in from Bristol City on a free transfer in the winter transfer window and was immediately proved to be a great partner to Al-Salman, with 9 assists in 15 games. He also has awesome free kick taking abilities, which is our only option in the squad... He singlehandedly allowed us to meet our "Make the most of set pieces" board orientation which was added this year, barely, but we got through. Révélation Dejan Risteski - DC - 4 goals, 1 assist, 255 clearances, 6.99 avg. rating An inspired signing from Australia, recommended to us by the same agent who got us Nat Mills two years ago. He was a regular in our defence, pairing with Lippold and doing very well. For some reason, his stats were enough to make him win the NxGn award, which is a bit broken in my opinion, there's no way that this guy is the best U19 player in the world... Still, he's been great for us so far and looking for more and better in the next years. Révélation Other News - Finances are still great, balance is at 10M€ at the moment! - The board is improving the infrastructures, now that we have cash on hand, which is a great improvement over the last few seasons. I even don't have to argue for it. - Still a somewhat bad Youth Intake, but I hope that recent investments in the setup will allow them to improve. Still no Daniel Matas v2 in sight, that's for sure. Looking Back: - Survive in the SuperLeague, despite restriction on foreign players: SUCCESS! - A better attacking midfield: The late addition of Semenyo allowed me to check that objective as a success. - Be responsible defensively: Still too much goals conceded (5th most in the league), but that was somehow compensated by a very good attacking setup. The Art of Drowning
FK TYUMEN Season 9 – Tinkoff Russian Premier League – 1st League Table Europe European Fixtures Overview So as I mentioned before I decided to go for a bit of a gamble this year and sold a lot of key players to raise the club some much needed money, unfortunately I barely get any percentage of transfer fees and didn't have much of a transfer or wage budget to begin with so it was definitely a risk. Out went our first choice striker (Nwanwko), first choice right back (Diagne), first choice right winger (Flores) as well as some good squad players like Meeks and Alhassan to raise some much needed funds. Of our signings, Videneev had just turned 17 and went straight out on loan, Kovac came in on the left wing for a bargain £850k (He has since gone on to be named first in that next gen list), Espinosa came in from Peru in Centre Midfield and to replace Diagne I made the purchase of Zuev permanent from Viking. I signed him on loan for our u21's for the 2nd half of last season just to get a better look at him and decided he was ready to step in at just 18 years old. I also signed a young Paraguayan striker called Gimenez on the cheap last season, I wasn't able to register him in the league but he got a lot of Conference League minutes and some league cup games without pulling up any trees, but with no money left I had to hope with a bit of settling in he would be ready to step up. Gimenez took his time to get going but in the end we didn't really rely on our strikers as we shared goals all over the pitch, the league was honestly a 5 way race for a lot of the season but we went into the final game at home to Rostov knowing a draw would confirm us as champions. We fell behind after 6 minutes which left me sweating but took the lead 7 minutes later and went on to win 5-1. In Europe we were drawn against Real Madrid, AC Milan and Lyon in the Champions League and I started dreaming after an opening 6-2 away win at Lyon. We then really took the game to Real Madrid and probably had the better of the game, they however had Mbappe who absolutely destroyed us on the counter as we lost 5-2, that was as good as it got in the Champions League but a 3rd place finish took us into the Europa League. We knocked out Ludogrets, RB Leipzig (very impressively) before losing both legs to Leicester in the quarter final despite being the better team both games. Transfers Transfers As I mentioned earlier, a big clear out but not much of an impact on my transfer budget so we had to be creative with our recruitment. In the winter window I added more depth on free transfers such as Robles (GK I didn't register in the league last year and won't be able to this year either), Zhilyue (Chinese striker, back up option chipped in with some goals), Rodrigo (Braziian with 6 Armenia caps so doesn't count as foreign) and Aguilar (American I'm hoping will go the way of Meeks and make us some money). I've tried to reinvest any money we do make into our facilities, currently we have: Excellent Training Facilities Superb Youth Facilities Exceptional Academy Coaching Exceptional Youth Recruitment Key Players Rondinele Azevedo - Note his nationality, I continued about a week further in and he's now been capped by Russia Ali Sohrabi - Another solid season from the Iranian Vladimir Ratnikov - The Attacking Midfielder was signed from Standard in Belgium, we're his first Russian club and this was a huge breakthrough year for him performance wise, he also got capped in the same game as Azevedo Yet again I've been given next to nothing to spend, and am having to make a profit in the transfer market. Despite this we are over how wage budget thanks to several expensive contract renewals. We're really not helped by average attendances of around 7000 despite having a 13000 all seater stadium. jmarchand
Catching up on the progress of the saves, after a couple of weeks away... Some great progress all around! @The Art of Drowning Great job on the championship and a pretty good European performance. Great wins against RB Leipzig! @Britrock Congrats on getting out of the National! That was a tough one to get out of! Now, for better days! @_JHTB_ Guppy looks like a beast. Hoping that you'll be able to keep him for a while. Great performance with Donegal Celtic!

Just the 3 U21 caps, but given he's English it's not as surprising he isn't in the main team reckoning just yet, though wouldn't bet against him getting there in the future. 7 hours ago, jmarchand said: @_JHTB_ Guppy looks like a beast. Hoping that you'll be able to keep him for a while I don't know exactly how long we can keep hold of him. I'm currently giving him a new contract every 6 months to try and limit interest in him. This summer we got a bid from Arsenal for him and Manchester United were showing interest. Thankfully the offer from Arsenal was not even enough to tempt the board to sell so for now he's ours, but I'm sure we'll lose him before long. A solid improvement in the league for you this season also, I know what you mean regarding foreign players, I'm certainly mainly looking abroad for my signings, though my restrictions are extremely lenient comparatively. What's the time required for players to gain nationality? In the long term that might be something you can use. @The Art of Drowning, nice title defense, that and European Journey should set you up well financially, you should be able to improve your percentage transfer revenue gained as well. On attendances, I think you're growing well enough, from what you've posted it's gone up 1k in the last year where I imagine you're still catching up to the top clubs in reputation, that and the fact you're over 1000 miles away from a lot of the teams you face so would guess limited away fans. At the stage I am in, I'll consider this as a bonus as the players I have in the pipeline aren't close enough to be strong enough on the long run. Thebaker
2029 Table | Squad | Transfers Started this season really well with 16 points from the first 6 games but this dropped off but after 19 games the club were still in 2nd although already way behind Vasteras. 1 win in 9 than took the club out of the promotion picture and into midtable, as Taby showed the opposite form. Probably less surprising when the gap in resources is seen. In the swedish cup the team were at home in the 1st rd to D1S Karlslunds and with 10 men sneaked past on penalties after drawing 1-1, Karlslunds had 25 shots on goal. In the 2nd rd the team were drawn at home to top flight Goteborg with the match switched to away for 35K and 50% gate receipts. The team held its own and were 2-1 up when Goteborg equalised in the 92nd min. In ET my team were exhausted and lost 2-3. Finances improved markedly this season due to the cup game. Most of the good work was due to the partnership between Noori and Nordfeldt who early on decided to leave and then pre- signed with another team halfway through the season. 2030 Table | Squad | Transfers The standard in the league in this season was lower as there were no relegated teams and 3 promoted teams. I was therefore disappointed that the team struggled at the start, being unable to create chances or score. Just 10 goals in the first 11 games whch inc 4 in 1 game and 4 0-0s. A series of draws through out the season meant the team was always behind the top 2 teams, often due to my CM's either getting sent off or being subbed to avoid a sending off. No team ran away with the league this year as they all struggled with form and a 4-0 win in the last game of the season put my team up into the playoff spot. In the playoffs the team faced Sandvikens, winning 2-1 at home and then drawing 1-1 away which should have been more comfortable as we were a lot better than them over the 2 matches. This secured promotion and hopefully a big change for the team. In the swedish cup the team beat D1S Utsiktens 3-0 away in the 1st rd before being drawn at home to Allsvenken (top league) Orebro in the 2nd rd. This was switched to away but the team were well beaten 0-3. Finances stayed steady due to the cup match as spending also increased. My midfield is not providing enough as shown by the fact my GK had as many assists as any 1 player from midfield. Fleming and Wood left at the end of the season as my team wasn't good enough for them. I didn't get the best out of Fleming and Wood played well at the start without any actual contribution before improving a lot by the end, putting him on corners was a mistake i corrected with 8 games to go. Noori played well without hitting the efforts from the previous season and i was impressed with Cakaric's efforts. Him and Wood scored 7 direct free kicks. I will also highlight Ahlstrand who looks a bit limited and is lacking in a few areas but generally has always performed well. It has made me rethink what to look for in GK's, previously i looked for handling and reflexes, but agility, anticipation and balance must also be important. _JHTB_
What a disappointment, I was on track for a perfect season, that's to say unbeaten and winning all of our games domestically. Incidentally, the 58 game unbeaten run was indeed a 58 match winning run.
