Joy_in_Leeuwarden
I have a B team and have found it quite annoying as they've surprised me a few times by renewing the contracts of a few players I assumed were on the way out. I know this is my own fault! Good progress @OlivierL, all about surviving that first season and the willingness of the board to fund things makes it even better. We've just started in Liga 3 and I can back up XaW's claim that (so far!) the leap in quality is not particularly noticeable.
OlivierL
Africanos Bragança - Portugal - Youth Intake - Class 2024 Preview Last class was better but determination wise, this one is much higher. also some good personaliteis Almeida 24A has the best PA , Borges 24F has the best Ca . with 3.5 CA but with a bad personality / determination i'm not sure if he'll become good.
OlivierL
INTRO | S1 Africanos Bragança - Portugal - Season 2 (2023/2024) Review - 4th tier - Campeonato De Portugal Squad| Youth Intake 24 | Transfers | Finances| Fixtures 1 | Fixtures 2 Campeonato De Portugal : We finished 6th this season with more points compared to last season. In the relegation stage we won more and got 4 more points compared to last season. This means that we have had a limited progression but still have a long way to go to compete for the promotion stage. We could now often field 11 players with a bench full of grey players. But as soon as a player was suspended, I had to sacrifice real players. As a result, 7 players want to leave on free transfer, four are effectively out of contract and I will not be able to keep them. With Borges i'll lose a key player. Taça de Portugal: Lost in the second round . U19 : Our U19 won the Bragança league and are promoted to the second tier U19 . Key Players Pereira had a good season and is a homegrown DC. Barros is our best player but he won't sign a new deal. Academy graduate with most Appearances (This season) Semodo 22C had a good season with 12 goals. Miscellaneous No upgrades(bad Finances) but at the start of the second season i got a B squad. Won't use it at the moment but this will be good for the future. Aim for next season I also hope to fill a bench with academy players to get rid of those grey players for good. The quality is still poor and I will need a few more seasons to compete for promotion. Joy_in_Leeuwarden
Start of 2025/26 Season Well, my approach has been the polar opposite of the other two people to take on this challenge so far. For the second summer in a row we had a revolving door policy as I had tens of trialists at a time to try and find players who could make a good fist of promotion at the first time of asking. The policy seemed to work, nine of the starting eleven in our first match of the season were debutants, and several got off to an immediate good start. After we thrashed Gondomar 6-0, we had a defender who had scored 4 goals and a winger with five assists from the first two games. Instead of sitting back I continued to further strengthen the squad and found real quality in midfield in the form of Fábio Martins and Jordan van der Gaag. Apart from Salgueiros who were very much too good for us to deal with, we've held our own and are looking good value to progress to the promotion stage. So then, similar to last seasons start. I figure I've now chosen the path of 'promotions now, Cape Verde players later' but there's still a couple of youngsters who are rated pretty highly. What is annoying is our continued refusal to perform in cup matches, that's one win in four seasons now. It took a long time to convince him to join, but van der Gaag is the best player we've had at the club by a country mile. A few more players of this quality and we'll have a team that will be second tier standard, let alone this division. And he hasn't truly bedded in yet!

Again i had more players to use but it is still a puzzle at certain positions. The fact that youth players are sometimes homegrown after two seasons is very annoying. But we make slight progress year after year so it remains fun. We had a tough time in the relegation stage, but in the end we stayed in the league and our city rival Bragança dropped out of the fourth tier. They kept me out of the top two in the regular stage so.. karma ! Taça de Portugal: Lost in the second round again. U19 : Our U19 finished second in the second tier but finished last in the promotion stage. Key Players Oliveira is our best defender now and captain. i hope he can lead the defence in the next years. Graça is our number one goalkeeper and had a good season. Academy graduate with most Appearances (This season) Ramos 24H is had a good season up front , scoring 12. Miscellaneous Again no upgrades. Only some increases for allowed coaches and wage. Received two of three job interviews. two from 3th tier, one from 2nd tier. Aim for next season I will be able to bring in some good youth players again because they are finally homegrown. It will be the last year of four senior players, two of whom are regulars. They won't talk or sign for two years now, so I will lose them at the end of the 4th season. And I don't have any replacement(s) yet. Novafluff
Season 1 2022/2023 Decided to give this nice challenge a go and after 6 reloads I finally got Africanos Braganca to appear. I am gonna keep my reporting quite small thou mainly table and top scorer and youth intake + best youth player from academy for now Table We had a rough start but we kept getting better during the season as we found our way tactically and a few more signings so had a good feeling going into the relegation group. The relegation group we had ab it rocky start with 1 win and 2 losses in the first three games but after that we got a nice 6 game winning streak which basically secured our survival and in the end we top the group 13 points clear of relegation. Renewed contracts of all players i want to keep and have a good feeling about battling for promotion next year Youth Intake Nothing to mention here really Lopes and Barbosa get contracts but i didn't expect much as we haven't invested anything into the youth side yet as i want to build a stronger club financially first. All in all an okay first season. We found our way of playing during the relegation group and with a few extra signings i believe we can push for promotion next year. The economics are quite good as we make an £86.6k proft and our balance stands at £186.6k, we are building a strong club in the long run and my focus will always be to keep the finances in the green even if it means selling of top talent

Joy_in_Leeuwarden
A very strange second half to the campaign. We briefly looked unstoppable although Salgueiros could not be budged, in fact they never lost a game. We then lost our goalkeeper to injury after he'd achieved six clean sheets in a row and it immediately went very wrong with a 4-0 defeat to perpetual irritants Merelinense. But the possibility of back-to-back promotions is still alive. We've drawn Varzim in the promotion group and they are going to prove hard to topple. They've just handed us our first home defeat in 14 months. I would prefer to be in better form going into the next stage but hopefully some r&r will see us regain our December form. OlivierL
i'm really struggling in the third tier. Maybe it was better to get some good intakes first, before i got promoted. I need a great escape or i'm back down in the 5th season. This really is the hardest challenge i every faced *Homegrown rules in the first seasons *Getting 'poor' players from a foreign nation in a (sub)top nation with better teams *To make it even worse almost no prize money and the sub rule in 4th tier (only 5 allowed in the relegation of promotion stage was another diffucult one for the homegrown rules). But i'm loving my Africanos !
Joy_in_Leeuwarden
I've played youth-only numerous times from FM15 onwards but after making absolutely miniscule progress in FM21 am enjoying the novelty of buying e.g. a fullback who can bring the team up a level in one stroke. Joy_in_Leeuwarden
2026 Youth Intake A reasonable intake headlined by the highly adaptable Luís Silva. The first hints that we might get our first international soon? Silva will get minutes this season, I'll play him on the right wing but in the longer term I could see him as a playmaker for sure. Miranda could well be a solid backup at the back next season. Varela and Lima are perhaps the next most likely to make the first team, but not for several seasons yet:

This is our best class . Sanchez 27A had the best PA but the three that scores above 40 are Tavares 27H (future B2B or maybe i could use him as a IF ?) & Almeida 27B gives me new options up front. I expect to be in this division for a few more years before I can compete for promotion. Taça de Portugal: Lost narrowly in the third round against Vizela from LIGA NOS. Novafluff
Season 2 2023/2024 Dissapointing regular season where we play a lot better than the year before but only manage to scrap together 4 more points than the first year. But i knew we were to good to go down and we showed that in the Relegation group with 33 points won all home games and only lost one away after all was done and we rotated quite a lot. Next season needs to be a promotion battle. Since we didn't invest in our youth setup the intake were as expected weak with only one getting a contract and he will most likely never see senior football at our club. I had few expectations there as Lourosa and Belenenses are much better. This was the situation after 4 match days, I still had to go to Sintrense and then at home against Lourosa: We won at Sintrense which was to be expected in our current form and Lourosa played equal against Belenenses. I had to win on the last matchday because Lourosa had a better goal difference in case of a draw. Barbosa 23B scored a great goal after i changed my tactic and secured the promotion ! We lost the Championship play-offs against Marinhense but that doesn't mean anything. Taça de Portugal: Lost again the third round against Montalegre U19 : Our U19 finished 2th in the second tier and finished third in the promotion stage.. so they got promoted to the first division U19 ! Key Players Again the same two key players : Pereira had a solid season at the back and Graça had a good season with 12 clean sheets. Academy graduate with most Appearances (This season) Tavares 27H had a great first season and he is our main midfielder and assisted 5. Miscellaneous & Finances No upgrades this season. Our balance is the only thing that is not growing at the moment, we are in deep red. In the second tier, you get 300k to participate but I don't see much prize money either, so it will remain a problem and a slowdown in our development. Joy_in_Leeuwarden
Season 4: 2025/26 League: Spoiler Fixtures: Spoiler This season we looked good value to secure back-to-back promotions as the squad was overhauled once again with players far higher than a standard we'd ever seen at the club before. In the promotion stage two precious wins over Varzim gave us hope but was not enough to see us top the group. That meant that we had to face off against Salgueiros in the playoffs, who of course had managed to go unbeaten during the regular season, and beat us in last year's Champions Playoff. I knew this would be two tough encounters and, after scraping a draw in the home leg, Spoiler they unfortunately managed to find an 88th minute winner at their stadium to end our dreams of reaching the second tier. Salgueiros themselves came unstuck in the final, so it seems likely we will have to find a way to beat them next season. Taça de Portugal: A bye in the first round, and then defeat to Merelinense in the second. This competition is not our friend. Standout Performers: Jordan van der Gaag Spoiler By far and away the best player at the club, I still struggle to believe he agreed to join and I have to hope no-one triggers his release clause. If I had just two more players of a similar standard I think we'd dominate the league! Martim Rocha Spoiler Following the departure of Ni Rodrigues in the summer I was very lucky to sign not one but two decent central defenders, Martim Rocha and Rodrigo Beirão (who achieved the unique feat of scoring a hat-trick from defence in his second game for the club). Rocha serves as my stopper and looks like he'll be good enough for Liga 2 soon enough. Hopefully we can keep pace with him! Fábio Martins Spoiler My mezzala is getting on a bit but on his day he sometimes transforms into our biggest goal threat. I'm hoping I can get one more good season from him. Best Youth Prospect: Luís Silva Spoiler The standard of youth players has gone up so quickly that those from the first two intakes have barely any chance of seeing first-team action. So 15 year old Silva looks the player most likely to break through at the moment., having played three league games for us. Looking forward to seeing if he can push on next season. Season Su mmary Any Other Business: No improvements off-pitch but I now have my national B licence. Baby steps... Next Season: Quite simply, I want to win promotion! Novafluff
Season 3 (2024/25) We had a wonderful championship series where we started superb and got into a good position and we never after that went below 2nd place so promotion playoff seemed secure all the way. But once we got into the playoff series it got telling two things that will need to improve for the next season. 1st our defense is not sharp or wide enough to really make it. 2nd i need more depth in the squad overall. Next season we will aim for promotion as with a few recruitment i think we can dominate next season Next season i think i will try to start upgrading some youth training and recruitment as with new sponsor deals probably coming for next season i think we can once again afford it.
OlivierL
Africanos Bragança - First International call-up - 13/11/28 Our first academy player that has been called up by Cape Verde ( U20). https://gyazo.com/2cc3eae7694d6c4f7e716123f14a7a46
OlivierL
Africanos Bragança - Youth intake preview - Season 7 - Class 2029 My wishlist was : a leftback and goalkeeper. This is really urgent because two first teamers are going to retire soon. And a first team winger/striker and a central defender. That is all i'm asking for And this preview seems to cover it all.. if the A's are for real this time . Edited January 3, 2022 by OlivierL
OlivierL
Africanos Bragança - Portugal - Youth Intake - Class 2029 Preview A much better intake with really good personalities and determination. I needed a good DL and i got a good prospect. Also a very good DC and target forward ! Antunes 29A and Dos Santos 29D are our two best players from this intake. future DC with a resolute personality and a future Dl with '12' on determination. I think they both can make it. Silva 29B is the third best of this class and could be my future 'resolute' target forward . Edited January 3, 2022 by OlivierL
OlivierL
INTRO | S1 | S2 | S3 | S4 | S5 | S6 Africanos Bragança - Portugal - Season 7 (2028/2029) Review - 2ndtier - Liga Portugal 2 SABSEG Squad| Youth Intake 29 | Transfers | Finances| Fixtures 1 | Fixtures 2 Liga Portugal 2 : Never really got into trouble and very satisfied with our final position in the league. Hopefully I can repeat this next year. Taça de Portugal: Lost again the third round against Sp.Braga Taça De Liga - Allianz Cup: I have made it to the group stage and that is where you can make some money (prize money or playing at a bigger club with shared gate receipts. I received some good money after play at Sp.Braga (7627 att.) and at home against Sporting CP in the stadium of my rivals Bragança , for 2086 people. U19 : Our U19 finished 11th in the 1st tier and had to play the relegation stage. They got relegated back to 2nd tier. Key Players And again Graça and Pereira as our two key players. Academy graduate with most Appearances (This season) Veiga 27G played the most games and is a really important defender for us. He is the first player that received a Cape Verde call-up but he could be next one that leaves for free.. i have him for one (+2 option) years but he wants to move to a bigger club. Miscellaneous & Finances New kits after our second promotion. MEO is a mobile and fixed telecommunications service and brand from Altice Portugal, managed by MEO - Serviços de Comunicações e Multimédia. The service was piloted in Lisbon in 2006 and was later extended to Porto and Castelo Branco. And now in Bragança . No upgrades this season. We got a new chairman but he promised not to do anything special. Our finances remain a major problem. I am well below the wage budget but still in the red. Board seems happy with 1.2m in red.. Aim for next season I am bringing in three promising players who should lift our level and i can keep everyone except our top striker Evora 25J. He wants to go to a bigger club for two seasons and I could not extend him any longer. he is leaving us on a free transfer.
