They can only be used within 3 stops, are you sure you didn't try to make a 4th stop?

Although 5 subs are available, as @XaW said, they can only be used in up to 3 game stoppages.

Feel free to exploit half time as a fourth break if you dont want to make 5 subs in 3 bunches, I manage in serie a at the moment as well and I find it useful to make a sub at half time to keep things fresh whilst still giving me the 3 game breaks in case things go tits up
