vivu Posted November 14, 2022 Author Share Posted November 14, 2022 (edited) Apr & May '26 Heartbreak on last match day as we narrowly missed out on playoff spot (we were in the spot when we scored, but Paderborn and 1860 scored late winners). The poor performances in April hurt us. I am really proud of the effort put in by my team, especially in the final 2 matches. Next season would be interesting if we can hold on to the core of the current team. I am really scared of the current chairman though (Money grabbing Ar**h**e has the tendency to cash in on key assets). Really hope he moves on before inflicting more damage. Key Ins: A solid squad player with loads of potential. Would come in handy in case some of the teams interested in my current players come in with offers Brighton wasted 6million on him, but he never made the grade in PL. He can be key in our promotion push He was picked after an agent offer. He has never played outside Mexico before, but can provide us with valuable experience and cover across all forward positions. An excellent replacement for Olivieri. Former Czech international has been a steady performer for Slavia Prague and a really good pick for us (even though I do not use AMC position in my tactic, he will be filling in for the IF positions) I spent big as DL was a position where we needed quality and depth and he has experience in Bundesliga. He never made the cut at Arsenal but would make a good cover option in defense for us. Team was impressive through the month, fighting back from an early goal against Heidenheim and thoroughly thrashing Wehen. The St Pauli match was weird one as they dominated first half and we had a goal disallowed and second half was all us and they had a late goal disallowed. Transfer Update We made healthy profit by moving over the transfer window. Moved on fringe players mostly, but Zan Zaletel and Luke Hemmerich were first team members who were team leaders. Incoming Highly rated youngster was available on a decent price and I moved in, but the board was pissed with the transfer. He was not quite ready for first team football, so moved on to 3rd Division on loan. Outgoing Koch did not have best stats, but he was a very solid performer on low wages. I really didn't want to lose him, especially on deadline day, as I did not have a suitable replacement lined up. Rejected the first bid and he got agitated, so agreed on 5 mill asking price. When Almeria came back with a bid close to it, I put in a sell on case and loan back for end of season at no cost and to my surprise they accepted. Luke was a stalwart at RB for us, but he was entering last year of contract and wanted unrealistic wages. Also his injury record was pretty bad last year. I am gonna miss my Vice Captain. We were only outplayed by Wolves during the period. Basaric had a moment of petulance against Werder an earned an early bath within 30 mins. We took the lead but faded in the second half. That seems to jolt the team out of a really bad spell and we ended the month regaining top form. Had another intervention by the board, but thankfully I had a sell on clause already in The young Slovenian had a host of clubs after him including Manure. Gladbach was the only one who came in. They started with a lowball offer of 3 mill+40% profit which I countered with 15 mil+50% sell on. They came back with 7mil+50 and the decision was taken out of my hand. I was unable to find a suitable alternative in the window and decided to give couple of my youth team members a shot. One of them gave decent performances so far.
