Ackter
Now, I know nothing about cricket, but has there every been a cricket score low enough to be a football score? What other possibly stupid sayings about footie annoy you.
Confused Clarity
I know @Jason the Yank hates "2-0 is the most dangerous scoreline to defend".
Icondacarver
The zonal marking versus man marking pundit debates can get in the bin.

Any sentence uttered by a commentator that contains "just about" is always wrong.

DJ
Whenever the vast underdog get a result people invariably say: 'they deserved it'. Hell no. In about 90% of the cases they totally fluked it.

Mr Adam
Not quite the same but commentators being adamant about something, then seeing a replay the proves them wrong, and then doubling down on it always winds me up. The best ones always admit they were wrong with a bit of humour. My favourite one was when a ref gave a penalty and Andy Gray was unusually apoplectic about it being a shocking decision. Then they showed a replay that it was clearly a foul and he changed it to “a little bit of contact”, then “accidental contact”, then “the ref can’t even see the contact so he’s clearly guessed - terrible decision. We can’t have referees guessing”. Edited December 11, 2022 by Mr Adam

In the same vein I remember the first world cup where they used goalline technology and Jonathan Pearce and Martin Keown were commentating and Pearce was totally baffled by it and how a goal hasn't been given.
