phd_angel
I occasionally go to my games folder to delete old saves and backups that I'll never open again. As I have backup rolling setup on, this amounts to many backups of ongoing saves which keep accumulating. This morning I had 5 Gb in old files I gladly deleted. If I may ask out of curiosity, go to your games folder and tell how many Gb you can save by deleting useless save files. Thanks.
starbugg
250 mb from my Beta save, I could delete it but I have become quite attached to it for sentimental reasons.
rinso
3.75gb for me.. it's jumped a lot as pc crashed when saving the other night, so save corrupted and had to pick a back up n carry on. another advert for rolling 5 file auto save right there... I lost a week of in-game..
FrazT
I use the rolling 3 game autosave and this doesn't cause too many issues in the games folder- however, I use File History to take a daily back up and this clogs up the backup USB stick very quickly and regularly needs to be cleaned up/
H_a_a_k_o_n
oh, i never delete. And keep 3 game autosave and change name every year of savefile and keep olds. That way i do have the possible to go back in time if needed to check history. 18 seasons in (fm22) so i guess i am clogging up a lot of GB. But safety first :-)
Daniel Evensen
On another note, I try to back up my save once a week or so just in case something awful happens to my computer.
Maviarab
Are you playing a computer from the 90's? if you need to save a few GB you have bigger problems too worry about lol. Less VR Porn and more FM saves! Edited March 10, 2023 by Maviarab
Weed07
I never really thought about save sizes but looking I've found: FM23 - 5.05Gb FM22 - 12.6Gb FM21 - 11Gb FM20 - 27.6mb (I only played this briefly on Xbox game pass as I was enjoying my FM19 save too much to move on) FM19 - 11.1Gb FM18 - 1.22GB FM17 - 4.78Gb FM16 - 2.28Gb FM15 - 2.24Gb FM14 - 1.2Gb I have rolling 3 autosave thing set up plus I'll often save new versions of my saves as back ups, I've had too many saves corrupt over the years and my PC is old now so prone to crashes so I like to have back ups. I'm going to have to have a clean out of those as its taking up over 50Gb of space. Interestingly (or maybe not), it wasn't really until FM19 where I started having really long term saves (50+) rather than lots of smaller ones so the save files are a lot bigger in those folders. Those older saves are precious, man. You really should stick them online somewhere for those of us who like messing around with older games to poke around at. kingjericho
I only do one save at a time so it isn't really a problem, but any tips to clean up space are welcomed.
