6 players missing for England tomorrow. So a chance for the fringe players in the team to stake a claim, especially at CB where both Maguire and Stones will be absent.

Half-time in Portugal, Croatia not only leads, but made Portugal look pedestrian.

Both teams with best lineups, more or less.

I thought noone can be worse than Fernando Santos, but mr. falling upwards Roberto Martinez outdid him. Just disgustingly bad for a team with so much talent.

It's not looking good, but we've played much much better than this very recently.

I think we've not faced a decent defensive test for a while and look weak off the ball (a genuine concern), particularly having no answer for Croatia's fullbacks forward runs. Couple that with everyone saving their legs for the real tournament and it was a pretty bad first half.

I still think we're gonna play good football at the tournament and expect us to pretty easily clear our group, but I'm not convinced of our ability of keeping clean sheets against the top sides

Way better second half from Portugal, except Cancelo who looks completely washed.

Leao has to play ahead of Felix.

Bernardo is so much better in midfield.

This game gives a lot of optimism to Croatia, especially with the group system, I think four points are very achievable.

First ever win against Portugal, took 28 years.

Serbia properly FM'ed Sweden... Somehow kept a clean sheet. I'm still wary, though, fully expecting us to revert back to our shambles self five minutes into England match. Watched too much of these folks to learn not to expect anything but misery.

France have drawn 0-0 to Canada, managed by Jesse Marsch. More credence to the "don't read too much into pre tournament friendlies" notion.

Or maybe it's the first step in Canada's sensational run towards the world cup trophy at home in 2 years time.

Finally updated the scores in the OP.

Romania 0-0 Liechtenstein I am putting down as another don't-read-too-much-into-it blip, still quite fancy Romania for the runners-up spot in Group E.

Czechia bagged a 99th minute winner against North Macedonia in their final warm up game for the tournament. That's a fifth win in a row.

We open against Portugal on Tuesday in Leipzig.

Milik was out already and now both Swiderski and Lewandowski had to be subbed in the first half. Things are looking dire for Poland if those are out, too.
