I really enjoyed watching both these teams in the last Euros. Can they step up and do it again this time around?

I feel like you guys are underestimating Switzerland.

Well-known defense that's been together for years, led by Sommer who just had a season with highest save percentage and most clean sheets.

Bologna trio Freuler, Aebischer and Ndoye coming off a historic season. Same goes for Xhaka.

The only issue is attack, Duah has no experience on this level, while Okafor and Embolo aren't traditional strikers. Still, they'll be ready to contribute off the bench.

On paper their Switzerland's lineup is way stronger, even though Szoboszlai should be the best player on the pitch.

A win here almost guarantees qualification.

I feel like Switzerland are always underestimated a bit

Normally grind their way through the group without looking that special, but they were just awful in qualifying. Fortunate to get six points on the board in their first two games; then in the 8/10 games after that they only managed to beat Andorra.

Five draws and a defeat in their last six non-Andorra games. Playing the likes of Romania, Israel, Kosovo and Belarus. They didn’t even have a big name team in there.

Sometimes I feel like we often put way too much emphasis on qualifying, especially when it comes to established teams.
We all overestimated Scotland due to their great qualifying campaing and look what happened last night.
Out of those five draws, only one was really bad with them salvaging a point at home against Belarus.
Romania scored twice against them in stoppage time, Kosvo also equalized deep in stoppage time, Israel just before stoppage time and their only loss in final game against Romania didn't really matter.
Obviously they're not on the peak level from some years ago, but it's way easier for them to play against teams that actually want to play, rather than breaking down defensive setups.

Hungary has been playing well as of late, but their group wasn't any stronger.

I'm just hoping for an early goal, otherwise it could very well be a dull affair.

No Haris Seferović? :(

At least there's no Behrami, his absence instantly makes Swiss team way more likeable.

Behrami's spirit lives in Widmer, though.
