titchuk
I know the last one's only just finished but based on what you saw and the direction different nations are going in, who do you reckon? Edited July 16 by titchuk

JJ72
Shorn of Southgate's dreariness, England will march to victory under Howe/potter/poch/etc delete as appropriate. Or not...
Federico
Spain Will dominate for few years I'm afraid. It's gonna be hosted in England... Again? I hope we won't see the scenes of Wembley 2021 anymore.

Well technically 2021 was hosted by half of Europe, it's just that London got all three of England's group games, plus two round of 16 games including England's, both semi finals and the final, so it effectively was a home tournament for England. hairwad
Strikers' ages by then become an issue for England Kane (34.9) Toney (32.3) Watkins (32.6) If we get Shearer and Batistuta regens before then, then ok no problem. Edited July 16 by hairwad

Er, the Batistuta regen will be Argentinian (possibly Italian as second nationality)

There'll be some kid we've not heard of who'll burst onto the scene by then. Or there's some random mid 20s player in League 2 that suddenly starts developing. CFuller
I'd like to say England (you never know, Rhian Brewster might eventually come good )... but I have a feeling Portugal's new generation could blossom just in time for Euro 2028. Vitinha, Nuno Mendes, Goncalo Ramos (if he escapes PSG), Diogo Costa and Joao Felix among others will all be in the 26-30 peak age bracket. Antonio Silva and/or Goncalo Inacio will likely be established centre-backs in their mid-20s. And you'd like to think by then that they aren't wheeling out the 43-year-old Wrexham captain Cristiano Ronaldo for another Euros. The only question mark I have is Roberto Martinez. Surely he won't waste another country's golden generation? Edited July 16 by CFuller

titchuk
I put Germany, they feel in a similar position to how England were in 2018 - following on from a few poor tournaments and fans disengaged with the team, now a new squad, connection with the nation re-energised, good young players who are going to be better for the experience. Except that they're German, so of course they'll take the extra step that we couldn't.
