August 2024 Results League Table Squad Thoughts It has been a really bright start to the season for us as we go unbeaten in the month and pick up two wins including one of the wins against Rio Ave. Two players to single out here at an early stage and they are Ateef Konate and Latyr N'Diaye who have set the early form for the side. I will take survival this season, and the early season form suggests we can get that this season.

I just felt we needed to improve the team a lot to have any chance, and I still expect us to struggle to avoid relegation. We did start our campaign this month, and that was to exit the League Cup at the first possible opportunity, although to be honest it was expected. We have a pretty big team now and I am not sure we managed to improve in every area I wanted but I think we probably have a lot more quality now in the team than we did before.

They would have been able to organise buying back the controlling interest from this other third party and presumably there would likely have been no issue then. Although they might still have decided to split at some point.

There was some sort of disagreement between the SAD which is the company that owns the club and the supporters which I think had ownership over the stadium, rights to the club etc. There was some sort of deal done back in like 1999 or something which meant they sold a controlling interest in the club to another company which meant that the SAD and the club were beholden to this other company. The relationship between the board and this third party turned sour. At some point the relationship between the SAD and the club turned sour and they took each other to court concerning the right to purchase back the controlling interest, the court judged in favour of the SAD. The contract that resulted from that judgement expired in 2018, and when that ended they both went their seperate ways. The SAD kept the team and their league affiliation in the top division at the time. The board and the club started a new club, and kept the stadium and the rights to the name etc.

Lol. fair enough. I know there are quite a few people who don't like what happened with the Belenenses split.

Season 2023/24 Update FC Porto narrowly won the Premier League from SL Benfica, to make it league title number 32. FC Porto beat Estoril in the Portuguese Cup final to make it Portuguese Cup number 19 for the club from the north. SL Benfica beat cross town rivals Sporting 1-0 in the League Cup final to make it an 8th League Cup triumph. FC Porto won the Super Cup at the start of the season beating Sporting 2-0 to make it Super Cup number 24 The Champions League final is between Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, so no involvement from Portuguese Clubs The Europa League final is between RB Leipzig and Inter Milan, so no involvement from Portuguese Clubs The Europa Conference League final is between Rennes and Borussia Moenchengladbach, so no involvement from Portuguese clubs. Honours Board Alentejo Update Third Division Juventude de Evora were promoted to the Second Division Campeonato de Portugal No teams from the Alentejo were promoted from the division Serpa and O Elvas stayed in the division Atletico Reguengos, Castrense and Arroches Benfica were relegated to the District Leagues District Leagues Beja - Despertar were promoted to the Third Division as league champions. Evora - Lusitano de Evora were promoted to the Third Division as league champions. Portalegre - Villa Athletic were promoted to the Third Division as league champions.

Think they only have an Under 19 team now.

May 2024 Overall Best Team Supporter Profile Update Stadium Plans Thoughts The club is growing slowly and the interesting news is that due to the big crowds we had last season we are now looking at potentially getting a new stadium. That was part of the general strategy so I definately endorse this move, although it could be some time until we know the actual formalised plans.

Yeah, pretty sure it was Campomaiorense the last side from the Alentejo to be in the top division, and that was because there was some coffee baron who bankrolled the club for a while.

Cheers, I am not counting Coruchense as Alentejo. I think by the old districts they were Ribatejo. I know it is close inbetween area between Lisbon and Alentejo. Only clubs I can manage are clubs from the Alentejo region. Plus still a long way to go with Juventude. It is all good getting to the second division but there is a long way to go to getting to the Primeira.

March 2024 Youth Intake Results League Table Squad Thoughts Just a couple more games to complete the season and we finished with a draw and a win to finish things off. It has been a great season for us, the three main strikers really done a good job this season with 25 goals for Correia, 17 for Sanchez and 18 for Chico. It's been an all round great performance from the side, there were times when we relied on the attack to outscore the opposition and then their were months where clean sheets were the main factor in our success. Hopefully we can survive our first season in the Second Division next time around.

February 2024 Results League Table Squad Thoughts We managed to get the job done and get promoted with our final game of the month. Despite losing to Uniao de Leiria, the fact that we managed to beat Sporting B, really gave us a massive chance to secure promotion and we managed to do that when we beat Moncarapachense. Juan Balanta, Andre Dias and Marco Correia have done the best this month.

January 2024 Results League Table Squad Thoughts A pretty perfect month brings us as close to promotion as we have been this season. We did not concede a goal all month and it is credit to the likes of Rodrigo Monteiro that that was the case. We now sit 8 points clear of Varzim and 10 clear of Sporting B.

December 2023 Youth Intake Preview Results League Table Squad Thoughts A tough month sees us drop a bit of ground and now the league table is very much as close as it gets. I was disappointed to lose at home Varzim and we were unlucky against Benfica B. Varzim are still undefeated this season but have a ton of draws. There are ten games to go and we are still in the hunt but we can afford very few mess up from here on in. In terms of performances Correia has probably been our best player but it's not been the best month.

November 2023 Results League Table Squad Thoughts We had an unexpected loss this month to Oliveira do Hospital but the remainder of the results were good enough to keep us in the hunt. Luis Sanchez and Juan Balanta have been the best two players this month, with Mario Correira not too far behind.

October 2023 Results League Table Squad Thoughts Another good month for us, moves us up into the promotion spots and we are slowly building a little challenge for promotion. We did get knockout out in the cup to Second Division Farense, in what was to be honest quite an unlucky loss overall. In the league we have produced some very nice displays and winning every game but the Sporting B game is a great set of results. Goncalo Batista has been back in the team and he has been on a rampage this month producing goals and assists. Chico, Correia and Sanchez have both been very good this month as well. Whether this form can last, is still to be seen but so far it has been so good.

September 2023 Results League Table Squad Thoughts It has been another decent enough month, where we played some of the top sides in the division such as Benfica B, Varzim and Sporting Braga B. We won none of those ties but we did win the others and that keeps us up near the top of the table. This month Geraldo Matsimbe has been pretty good from defensive midfield and prime reason we managed to draw the games against Benfica B and Varzim. Correia has also been pretty good this month, he bagged two against Paredes in a very fine performance.

August 2023 Results League Table Squad Thoughts It has been a great start to the league campaign as we bagged ourselves 3 wins and loss. The loss to Estrela da Amadora was to be honest quite unlucky I would say, we led the game and they were fortunate to get their goals so I won't dwell too much on that loss but elsewhere we have been great and got the results. A big opening day win against Belenenses, and the wins against Lank and Caldas. It's also very nice to see that we have some very nice attendances at the games, getting close to sellouts for both home games. In terms of the squad the first guy who needs to be mentioned is Chico, who already has five goals to his name and has been brilliant early on in the season. His strike partner Sanchez has also had a nice start to season. Abreu, Brian and Monteiro can also be proud of their efforts so far in this early season.

July 2023 Transfers Brian - the young right back comes in from Sao Paulo, as a cover option but possibly he could force his way into the team. Juan Balanta - The Colombia versatile midfielder comes into the club. I like the fact that he can play both right and left wing, and so he should be a great option off the bench for us or to cover for any injuries Miguel Abreu - A player that I felt would add a lot defensively as he can play both centre back and defensive midfield for us. Andre Dias - Left back cover, or could possibly start. Mario Correia - We needed options up front and I think Correia has all the hallmarks of someone who can contribute to our cause this season. Carlos Kameni - A player many will know from his time at Espanyol. He is very old now at 39 years old, but with goalkeepers the drop off is not as extreme as with outfield players, so I would not be surprised if he did a good job for us. I expect him to start for us. Chico - Another striker competing for a starting role, can also effectively play off either wing. Wallisson Bahia - He looked like one of the best pieces of business we did, but his wages are pretty high too. He can play strike, right wing and right back. I expect him to play off the wing, but the added versatility is helpful. Carlos Mosquera - Another Colombian, who can play centre back and defensive midfield. Looks a good player, but has got a bad injury since arriving and will not feature for at least 3 months. Luis Sanchez - Another striker into the fold and another Colombia. He looks like he has some very good physical attributes if we need to beat the opposition with pace and strength. Victor Hugo - Left winger, the Brazilian looks a handful to play against. We could have signed him last season if we had the money, but we didn't. This season I decided to bring him in. Team of the Year Awards Results Thoughts A lot of signings during the window as might be expected from a club that has just been promoted. I think we have done a decent enough job, but our morale is a little shot at the moment, I suspect from players leaving and coming into the club and that has not helped. Our first friendlies have been frankly dreadful results and we will need to pull our finger out.

Season 2022/23 Update Trophy Updates The league was won by FC Porto as they made it 31st league title. The Portuguese Cup was won by Sporting CP as they beat FC Porto 2-0 in the final. That is Portuguese Cup number 18 for the Lisbon side. The Portuguese League Cup was won by FC Porto, it was their first time lifting that trophy The Portuguese Super Cup was won by FC Porto. The Champions League is yet to take place and is between Manchester City vs Red Bull Leipzig, and thus features no Portuguese side The Europa League was won by Manchester United as they beat Arsenal in the final 1-0. The Europa Conference League has yet to take place and is between Real Sociedad and Fiorentina and again does not involve any Portuguese side. The updated points table is below. Alentejo Update The Portuguese Championship Juventude de Evora are promoted as league champions Serpa, Arronches de Benfica will remain in the division Lusitano de Evora and Vasco Gama Vidigueira have been relegated to the district leagues District Leagues Beja Division - Castrense have been promoted from the Beja area as league champions. Evora Division - Atletico Reguengos have been promoted from the Evora area as league champions. Portalegre Division - O Elvas have been promoted from the Portalegre area as league champions.

Campeonato de Portugal Champions Playoff Final - June 2023 Thoughts Well we managed to win the Fourth tier of Portuguese football against the pre-season favourites. It was a much closer game than the scoreline would suggest as going into the final ten minutes the scoreline was 3-2, but we then managed to just keep scoring to take the score to a rather flattering 6-2 scoreline. Rivaldo Semedo who started the season as a bit of a misfits, ends it with the man of the match performance in the final for his goal and two assists on the night.

May 2023 Results League Table New Contract Badges Squad Thoughts We were on the verge of gaining promotion and despite a pretty brutal defeat to Vila Mea, we would manage to gain promotion and we would also manage to over the month get back in front of Vila Mea to qualify for the Champions Playoff, the end of season finale. Fortunately the board have massively increased the wage budget, which has meant we have been able to get some of the players we wanted to sign new contract, although the likes of Zarantonello is still holding out at the moment and I am unsure we will be able to get him in. We have also started the early work of scouting for new players for the coming season. I think this month we have to give the props to Rivaldo Semedo, who has been really coming into his own and Harlem Salas has continued to impress me with his end of season form. Marcos Soares also deserves a mention this month as he has been excellent from right back. We are promoted to the Third Division and it is just the Champions Playoff Final to go which happens early next month.

April 2023 Record Goalscorer Results League Table Squad Thoughts We returned to some lovely form this month and just when we needed it at the business end of the season. Xande who had mostly been coming in off the bench got himself the goals to become the all time top goalscorer for the club. In terms of our form we to win all but one of the games this month, and the only draw was away to fellow Alentejo side Serpa. We look good value to be promoted at this stage as Maria da Fonte have to make up a mountain of points on us. Although if we want to win this phase we will need to stay ahead of Vila Mea who are just a couple of points behind us in the league. In terms of performances this month it is hard to look past Harlem Salas who has been superb this month, he's got himself goals and assists this month and almost been mesmeric on the right wing.
