Worth saying Guéhi was really good, had a huge area to defend given the way we were set up and never really looked exposed. Didn't miss Maguire at all imo.

The mentality is just off isn't it? Not thinking about how to score a goal, panicking about being dispossessed and being done on the counter. -
The thing is the way Pickford plays will give him an easy ride from the media, a keeper who is better/more confident on the ball but has the odd blunder (because that is the nature of playing that way sometimes) gets absolute dogs abuse from everyone.

I don't understand what was going through his head but his approach in the last year or so has been so different to what worked so well from 2016 through to 2022.

Watching him lump it up to Kane who didn't even challenge for the header let alone win it made me sad.

I know most of the alternatives to him at the moment are either crocked, old or don't get on with Steve Holland, but this felt like a tournament too far for him.

Hopefully Colwill can get some game time as well. Don't think we're short of left backs at all but we do need these players to manage their careers well over the next couple of seasons.

Do transfer fees mean anything anymore? Cucurella is definitely not a £62m left back (whatever that means), we see him every week in the league!

France are scary but I think we can go toe to toe with them, and we did do at the World Cup. Spain are probably the worst match up for us in world football.

Us and France are the major talent producers at the moment, and thats not just down to luck so I'm confident that we will be up there for a while yet. Need to identify some passers though.

Pickford does the saving and claiming crosses bit of the job very well, so well I'm prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt and blame the management for the long kick tactics.

It looked worse because of what Kane was in this tournament. We only really had Saka with some pace up front and even he isn't really that sort of player. Out of the players in the squad Gordon was a slam dunk selection for me, unbelievable Gareth didn't use him at all. Or just don't play Kane and have Watkins up there.

Yes, I think we have three centre backs who can do this as well.

I think we were saying pre tournament that there is so much quality in the team that OK for some positions you might not have the perfect player but you just need someone to do a job so the really good players can do their thing. Gareth decided not to take that approach and we ended up looking very bad.

Not as headsgone as after 2021 but still a bit deflated. Another moment passes us by.

They were getting in some great positions as well where if the England player doesn't win the header or make a big challenge they had an overload going on.

Come on, our captain and striker doesn't even make it to 60 minutes when we're chasing a goal, I'm not really in the mood for your edgelord act so lets leave it there.
