Looks like one of these teams will have to grind out a result without playing very well. Didn’t see that coming.

They started wiping cards only after the quarters so that players couldn’t be suspended for the final after two yellows. Now you can only ever be suspended for the final if you get a straight red in the semis. WC26 I reckon they might have two separate wipes. One after the group stage, and another one after R32-R16-QF. Because there is an extra game going in. Otherwise you could get two bookings across six games and then still miss a semi final.

Sounds like a ploy to get Rice and Mainoo and Gallagher all into the same midfield. Wingbacks won’t seem so exciting when we are camped on the edge of our box defending a 1-0 lead and Kane and Bellingham are seventy yards upfield with nobody else anywhere near them.

Clearly offside. Another "victory" for VAR, even though without VAR the linesman would be giving it straightaway. -
Unless something changes it will be pretty hard to defend this year... even if we win. It looks like it would still be him choosing a squad that he doesn't really seem to understand, then somehow getting away with it. Rather than having an actual plan and then digging his heels in to select players that fit with it... even if they aren't the 'best' based on club form. At the moment he's not really doing all the things I've always championed him for. But if we turn up and beat Switzerland 3-0 then it's all forgiven.

There’s really no point. People are too far gone. He will still be a failure because we didn’t swagger through with a load of 5-0 wins, and because he wasted those previous tournaments that any decent manager would have won as well.
