1. There's an issue with the cups in this version, I will update soon, hopefully today.
2. Sure, by all means, but for many of the teams my research is pretty minimal (there often is not that much to go on online, I just read club websites, news articles and wikipediapages mainly). Could you please credit (or even link) me for my work?
3. I'm planning on releasing an update that is somewhat more stable. Just keep an eye on this page or steam, it might be easier to verify. My reason for making lower league teames semi-pro is that many players in the provincial division are paid for playing, but you do you. You would also have to do some financial balancing (I'm mainly thinking of sponsor money on the country level, the lowest teams get is 70.000 a year, which would be lot for purely amateur teams).
4. Well, I did not 'create' the teams, they exist in real life, but I did create this file. Would you like to use the file for a personal project or what exactly is your plan?
5. FM 23 Steam link: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2980126791 A full rework of the Belgian Lower League Pyramid, containing all teams and B-teams, all competitions in the Belgian Pyramid (up to level 9 (4th provincial), including regional cups and youth leagues) with a dynamic and regional relegation and promotion system which has been streamlined and simplified, the complete Belgian Cup/Croky Cup starting from the first round, awards for all competitions, new media sources, new names for newgens, all places in Belgium and data updates to Belgium in general for more accuracy. NEW IN THIS VERSION: * A lot of local derbies were added * Added some smaller regional cups * ‘Year founded’ was added to most A-teams * Added details to a lot of clubs (club icons, kits, supporter objectives, affiliated teams…) * Further improved stability NEW IN UPDATE 1.1: * Many small corrections (unreadable colour combinations, founding years, names…) * Almost all teams from the base-game database now link to their correct ID for logopacks. - Be sure to use a recent logopack, specifically for FM23, as there were quite a few changes to Belgian teams in this year’s game * Further improved stability of the relegation system, hopefully the issue where no new fixtures are generated anymore after a random number of seasons is now completely fixed * Fixed an issue where some players contracted to teams at the start of the game did not show up at all * Team history should now work on all levels * On the lower levels B-teams are no longer allowed to use players that have already played for the A-team in the same week SETUP: * Put the file in this folder if you download manually (on windows): My Documents > Sports Interactive > Football Manager 2023> editor data * Use advanced setup when starting the save, make sure you have the file checked for loading. * In the advanced setup, check 'add players to playable teams' to fill the new lower league teams. * The game MUST be played with the lowest possible Belgian Division (Vierde Provinciale/Quatrième Provinciale (BEL)) playable for everything to work properly. * It is advised to edit the 'loaded' players (dropdown under 'Approximate Player Count' ==> 'Advanced') and add all categories of Belgian Players. * The game will need some time to generate players for the lower league teams, after which you can play the game normally. * Works great with Zealands NewGAN Facepack! * English as ‘data language’ is recommended RULES: The highest three division levels are more or less like in real life. Below that level, teams play two rounds (home and away) and the champion at the end is promoted. Only on the fifth level (3rd division), two of four divisions have two promoted teams instead. The system is set up as such that teams will be grouped by region automatically each season, the system will also relegate more or less teams per region depending on the number of teams from that region that are relegated from the divisions above. This means that the number of teams relegated from each division can fluctuate, all teams in the relegation zone are thus at risk of relegation. Each province has a regional cup, teams that get far enough in these regional cups, qualify for the national cup (Croky Cup) in the next season. As of now, the composition of the lower provincial levels is dynamic, when setting up the game for the first time, different teams will play in series A, B, C… of the same province every time. Sometimes B-teams get force-relegated as their A-team is relegated from a level above. In some scenario’s the dynamic relegation does not account for this properly. To compensate for this, an extra team from the same province from the level below will be added to the division, to keep everything stable and in working order. When the system gets into trouble, it will correct itself by moving teams as necessary. 6. This update just dropped, it says they fixed an issue in verification! Let's see! https://www.fmscout.com/a-fm23-update-23.5.0.html?fbclid=IwAR17P3NjdNRDsqve7AEqB9gbEr_7i4_BiDqWK-rYS4Ze9jSpgrVDnpUdaBM
7. Seems like that just removes the country entirely when setting up the game, so that's not really helpful. I have the same issue as you with the Europa League.
8. Just to clarify, to delete the nation rules you need to delete the entire 'record' under <list id="files">, it ends just a few lines above <string id="file_type" value="comp"/> (be carefull not to delete the start of this record). Then you search 'verf' and replace it by <list id="verf"> <string value="23.4.0"/> </list> 23.4.0 being the most recent update of the game. Then you save your xml, import it back into the editor (should now be verified) and save the file again in the editor without changing anything. Now you should be able to load it in game!
9. I figured it out, you have to search and replace the characters in the finale XML-file (which you'll have to import into the editor) by their numeric character reference in XML, for my examples that is: Search Replace by á á Á Á à à â â ä ä ã ã ç ç Ç Ç é é É É è è ê ê ë ë í í î î ï ï ñ ñ ó ó Ó Ó ò ò ô ô ö ö Ö Ö ø ø ú ú ü ü Ü Ü
10. What about other 'special' characters like "é, ç, ë, ô, ï, î, è, ö, ü, Ö, ã, ä, ó, í, ê, Ü, É, â, á, Ç, ú, Á, ñ, ò, ø, à, Ó"? They seem to be causing errors for me. Do I have to replace them and if so, by what?
11. O hey! Good Job! I think you were already close, or was I wrong Back to updating my database it is
12. It'll have to wait a little bit longer, but I'll try to look into it!
13. I'm a bit busy now, but I'll try to look into it this weekend!
14. When I test in the editor, three teams are relegated from Ykkönen.
15. Explain to me how the system is supposed to work. I'm not at all familiar with Finish football (even had to look up which division in your file is the second one).
16. It is as I thought, you do not need to set any stages in the parent competition. It should just be empty, you'll have to delete that 'stage 0 - ????' there. Just click on 'stages' and then 'clear', that should do the trick. Teams that are in the child competitions are automatically recognised as playing 'in' the parent competition, so no need to set that up.
17. No, that should not happen regardless. Something might be set up incorrectly. Can I look into your file?
18. I use both, I have a parent competition for that level, then a child competition per region and most of these have several groups for parallel competitions on that level and in that region. It seems to help to keep teams in the correct region.
