    So long time no updates. I was on holidays :). So new season of Polonia...my 5th championship (7th for Polonia). Not as easy seaosn as year before. But we ran away in last few rounds. Until round 25 it was quite close with Lech Poznan. We did have a very painfull loss of 0-3 at home against our rivals Legia this year. We lost a very imporant player in JARON, our left back who went to Watford...for 30 million EUR! I never thought anyone would pay that for him. So I lost our best back, there are no current replacemnets who even come close to his level. I guess he was better than I expected...so I started giving out better contracts with higher min fee amounts. JARON did get relagated so i'm curious if he's going to stay or move yet again. No movement other than that in first team. CEGIELKA took over first spot on LB and WOJCIECHOWSKI joined first team as rotation back.

    Few of our players got a few morre caps. GROMEK our star striker who scored 31 goals in 30 league games  has now 3 caps and he scored his first goal. Our old hero HALUCH has broken teh record of most league goals in poland. He has now 200 Ekstraklasa goals in 356 games. He could have left at beginning of the year as his min fee was matched but he choose to stay. I hope he can get up to 250 goals!. My in-game son Jacques OLISADEBE has made a few caps and stands now on 7 caps! WOJTASZEK also made his debut and second cap this year. I'm surprised our star defender DABROWSKI who has offers around 20 million has yet to make his first cap.

    After last year win in the cup we went again back to the curse as we lost in second round.

    Yeah...we beat Bayern! Quite lucky season as we passed with only 7 points. We lost both to Liverpool, Won against BAYERN at home lost away, srew Krasnodar at hgome and won away.

    In first knock out round we played REAL MADRID, with our former wonderkid..LUSIUSZ in goal (he just transferred for 47 milion). We lost 1-2 and 0-3. Really a level too high.

    Now this is not as bad intake as I feared. Two foreigners...and finally a Nigerian...altough born in Spain. SEVCIK looks like a really big talent.

    ADENIRAN, the Spanish Nigerian...Fairly Proffesional, decent Technique and Acceleration. Lets hoep I can train him into our new back as we need one after the loss of JARON.

    Best Polish regen of the year, PAZDAN. This is a bulldog kind of player. I like him already..a.ltough his misses a bit aggression.

    And the possible wonderkid...SEVCIK. Slovak youth, from same town as our affiliate. Passing already 15! I have high hopes for this kid to be the core of my midfield together with OLISADEBE for years to come.

    cool. yeah i was born in Lodz  :) but live in NL so I do not follow  all the news.  hope their project will succeed. In Denmark they are making alot of money with it.

    you ware right :D. Papp does indeed look like he will bring in some big bucks.  what countries do you advise outside of europe? I was thinking Nigeria (for RP reasons).

    Domination has started. Three trophies! League, Cup and SuperCup!. My 4th League championship and 6th for the club!. Only Lech Poznan could keep up with us. Legia again a horrible season. 87 points. by far the best seaosn so far. Only two changes to 1st 11. Old-timer (27) BOGUSKI lost his 1st 11 spot (but I will keep him as a coach). WOJTASZEK moved back from midfield to CB and his spot was taken by our Frenchie, FALLEMPIN who had a decent rookie season. Thankfully we hvae the champions league monies...as we are getting really big offers. GROMEK got a few around 13mln, JARON and WOJTASZEK got around 10 mln offers. But for now i'm not going to accept any of them. We do not need money and I do not have anyone to replace them on short notice. My youngsters finally got the recognition from Polish National coach! But more about that later.

    Cup we finally broke the 3rd round curse...and went all the way to WIN it. My first cup. Won the final from Lech Poznan 1-0 by an own goal.

    What a draw....<put here the disapointed indian PwC manager meme>. We didnt even do that bad. We won the first gaem from Juventus 5-2 and we drew Man U at home 1-1. The rest we lost and ended 4th in the group. Let's hope for a better draw next year.

    Yes! Finally after a few call-ups some of my players made their first cap for Poland! GROMEK even scored on his debut. RUTKOWSKI made his debut in the second friendly. JARON with his debut...and my ingame son Jacques OLISADEBE...in footsteps of his father....2 caps for Poland! :D. Sadly SARNOWSKI is 2nd choice behind LUSIUSZ who is now 1st choice goaly at Paris SG and wanted by Real Madrid!.

    Our youngster MAKAROV also made his debut for Lithuania, our second Lithuanian A-International after BUTKUS.

    So I finally managed to convince the board to build a new stadium....in retrospect I could have made a booboo. If we lose too much money with building it...I could be forced to sell some players.
    Our training facilities got degraded to superb. I will wait a bit before I will expand them again.

    nope. play with original database. I just waited 2 seasons for them to promote. first save the first year and see they are promoted to II liga. Save...wait another seaosn...and get a bit lucky to see them promote again. took me only 5 re-runs

    Great season. 3rd Championship and the 5th for the club! We seem to win every 3 years?! Best seaosn so far point wise! 76...one more than our former record. From december we ware leading and didn't give it awat, altough past was only 3 points behind Piast for most of the season. They ware the unexpected contender, having an averege team. Legia and Lech Poznan (champion from last year) ware very disapointing, especially as a their team was on par with ours beginning of the season. We started the seaosn with some though choices. One of team leaders...and Georgian A-International STURUA left for France for a very low fee. He had a big contract and my youngsters surpassed him by more than a star. It was time. 23 Caps and 1 goal for Georgia. 236 league games for Polonia in Ekstraklasa and 3 goals! Club legend. I hope to bring him back to the club after he retires. 2nd  choice to do was to sell KLEPACKI and go all in for 17-year old DABROWSKI as 1st 11 CD. That turned out ok I guess and DABROWSKI still has 1,5 star to grow. Sadly our other A-International BUTKUS choose to leave to M'Gladbach for 1,9mln. He was rotation anyway and I agreed to the bid...to put my ingame son into the team! PRZYBYLSKI had a good rookie season on RB but missed a bit too many games due to injuries. Same applies to MROZEK. my in-game son. Jacques OLISADEBE had a brilliant rookie season. 31 games, 4 goals and 6 assists! But most importantly he's really imporving alot. From 2 stars to 3,5. Sadly his potential is only halve a star more. Still this way he can stay a 1st 11 player for his whole career at Polonia!. I gave the young lad the same number his old man was playing in 2000 at Polonia "11". At attack GROMEK joined first team and is already 4 stars...bringing HALUCH back to only 3!. RUTKOWSKI replaced TOMCZYK who gold sold in winter break to Nijmegen for 2,5mln. We really do not need the money but his salary was high and his contract was ending next season. And RUTKOWSKI was halve a star behind. 

    New record in the cup! 3rd round!!! (technically ecualised our record) still horrible. The cup games come at really bad point inbetween champions league and many league games. (excuses excuses)

     

    Biggest sale of the season. Tomczyk for 2,5mln.

    Crazy...just crazy! we passed on to 1st knockout round!. We eleminated winners of last year AC Milan!. We lost twice to Man U. Won at home from Milan last away. equalised M'Gladbach at home and won in legandary game away 0-1!.

    In knockout round we played Real Madrid. That was really a level too high. Lost at home 0-1 and 1-3 away. Still a brilliant run! I truly believe I finally have a team that can dominate Poland for the next seasons. The next step is to have some youngsters that can give us a regular CL run.

    Disappointing season overal. We were leading the league from round 20...just to give it away in last few rounds...and lose the #1 spot on the last weekend. 75 points. Our best season so far...point wise. And again 2nd spot. This time lost it to Lech Poznan (who got their 11th championship!). Widzew got sadly relagated again. ZAKLIKA was MVP this year in what might be his last year at Polonia as some italian clubs are showing interest. TOMCZYK nearly left at the begining of the season as I accepted a 1,5mln offer for him but he wanted to stay. New in best 11 are our Lithuianian A-International BUTKUS our new left back JARON (who replaced WLODARCZYK) and our new goaly SARNOWSKI (who got a call-up for A-team for Poland but did not earn his first cap yet. And it might take a while, Polish first goaly is our old wonderkid who went to PSG, LUSIUSZ. Still not bad for his rookie year. He's up to 4 stars and relagated rest of teh team by halve a star. I just hope I can keep him longer than I could LUSIUSZ.

    Cup was again a disaster, lost in penalties in round 2. The Cup curse continues.

    Champions League saw for first time ever two polish teams in the tourney...and they did bad. Both Polonia and Legia ended 4th in the group. We at least booked our first ever win (and 2nd one) in the tourney. In qualies we had some decent contenders but nothing major. AGF (DEN), Fenerbace (TUR) & Sporting Lissbon (POR). The win against Benfica (POR) was extreamly sweet.

    So our French owner left and sold the club to KRUPNIK. The Chicken soup guy will lead the club to further glory...I hope. So far we expects me to spend the CL money on new players...so lets see if I can keep the job.

    So maybe our best season so far...was not enough for championship. Legia was just amazing. Only 2 lost games...they ware unbeaten for most of the season. They really earned their 18th championship!. But...we qualified for Champions  league...somehow. I guess Poland gained spots in Europe. We are going to draw strong countries so small chance to pass compared to championship spot. HALUCH was again MVP. Our young capitan was sadly injured again for more than a month and we really felt when he was not playing. Also he earned his first TopScorer trophy and 2nd best player of the season. LEWINSKI was sold to Israeli club as he didnt want to extend his contract and TOMCZYK was on par with stars. Rookie season for TOMCZYK was ok. But nothing crazy. Oldie KOLODZIEJ wanted a new challange (at 22 years old!) Inter Miami came and offered a decent but not great amount. STACHURSKI took over his spot and KLEPACKI (who was at loan at Rakow) took over the rotation CB spot. Next seaosn is going to see many changes. The great youngsters form 2 seaosn ago have grown up...and are on par with stars with some 1st team players (or close to it) but have 4,5 star potential so few players are going to join first team.

    Cup was again horrible, lost in first round to Slask Wroclaw. Europe went AMAZING. We managed to beat Shakhtar Donetsk (UKR) in qualies!! We peaked at the right moment and earnd ALOT of money....LIKE ALOT! Over the whole year 17mln! (and that is after we improved our youth facilities!).

    Could have been worse! Really a bad draw, but we still managed to draw Inter Milan (ITA) and Real Madrid (SPA) at home!. It can only go better in the future!

    Ahh yeas we did win teh Polish SuperCup!. My first Cup with Polonia!. The average of 8k is higher than our stadium capacity of 7k, that is becuase for euope we used the National Stadium in Warsaw (51k cap).

    Two new ones! I got tired of getting my Nigerian clubs rejected so I accepted a Bosian club with Exceptopnal youth coaching...and Ruch Chorzow who will be a great club for loaning players out.

    and let me introduce you to....Jacques 'Jacek' OLISADEBE! High bravery and work rate....also his ability is going up well. Half Polish, Half Nigerian. With me as Father in relationships! :D
    so EXCITED....he actually can become a 1st team player. this is only 2nd time i got this in FM...and last time my in-game son..had ZERO potantial.

    (Technically Jacek = Hyazinth, but I like Jacques more)

    Second championship!. And 4th for Polonia! Completly different scenario from the last one. First halve of the season was for Pogon. They ware leading half way by 6 points but gave it away in March and April. We had a hickup at the end. Losing 3 and a draw but we had a big enough difference in points from Lech. Lech was the best team in Spring. Overall we ware the secondbest team in both halves but won the league! The champion from last two seaosn Legia had a horrible season, sacked their Czech manager and after that they gained a few positions. Wisla who was 2nd last year also had a bad seaosn but managed to win the Cup. LEWINSKI was moved from midfield to attack and he did very well, even managed to get TOPSCORER. HALUCH was again MVP. ZAKLIKA came back form loan to Cracovia and managed to replace MILEWSKI. Talking about MILEWSKI and GORSKI. I received great offers for them and as ZAKLIKA was halve a star better in rating I just sold them and used teh money to imporve our training up to state of art (i think the highest level). SPALEK became #1 goaly after GRZYBOWSKI's min fee was activated by NANTES. Only 600k. my own booboo. I didnt notice it was so low. Thankfully I loaned him to ZTE , my affiliate so I could get him back. Our old timer MARCINIEC wanted to leave and was getting annoyed so I sold him to Termalica for 1k. In his place in midfield joined two youngsters KIEWEL and SIUDAK. The defense stayed the same. Are we ready to try Champions League? Nope. If LEGIA and/or LECH get thier home in order we will not win the league next season. The youngsters from last year need another year to grow. So I think in 2-3 years we might have a team that might be able to start dominating in Poland.

    Cup was again horrible, lost in second round to Korona Kielce. That we beat literally a game before 6-3. Europe was interesting. Best result so far. Quarter-Finals of Conference league. We got eleminated by Fenerbace (TUR).

    No changes in affiliates. I keep getting offered, Bulgarian, Serb or Mononegro clubs. I think i'll just accept one. The Slovak club got relagated to 2nd level.

    CEGIELKA. Great name for a defender. The LITTLE BRICK! If his strenght would have been 15 that would have been even more fitting. Future 1st team wing back me thinks.

    After toying around reading some stuff on this part of the forum and reloading across a shortlist of countries to see what comes up, I have finally decided to take part in the FM21 Youth Academy Challenge as the last save in this iteration of the game. I was left with a shortlist of two German clubs (Alemannia Aachen and Rot-Weiss Essen), a Swiss club (AC Bellinzona) and a Greek club (Pansseraikos). The deciding criteria was represented by the possibility of buying a jersey of that team (I always do that for immersion) and therefore, I will be starting this with Alemannia Aachen. The club is pretty decent, with a 30k stadium, Good training, youth and corporate facilities, Average academy coaching and Adequate youth recruitment.

    Now I am pretty sure that I saw around the 150 pages of this thread someone else playing with them, but can not recall who it was and how far it got. Introducing therefore the manager of the club, Mr. Karl der Grosse (bonus points for those of you who get the reference). The expectations are not that high, Club culture is Strive to make progress on and off the pitch, while the 5-years plan is to Work within wage budget and Fight bravely against relegation. The wage budget is around 2.2M (which may seem high but considering that around 80% of the squad is having their contracts expiring in 2 weeks time, might not be enough). We do have a good number and spread of players both in the First Team Squad (Part 1 and Part 2) and in the Reserves.

    One thing which is very important for this challenge is that I am playing this on FM21 Touch. That will surely come with great consequences, starting from the Staff we have at the club (just one member for each position), and most surely continuing with the reduced number of players we get in intakes (simulations show an average of 4-5 players per intake for formations promoted from Regionalliga in the first year). Also, training and mentoring is much simplified in Touch. On the other hand, I might have some advantages in the reduced number of players and media interactions, reducing the amount of moaning and nonsense talking to a minimum. Hoping for a fun career, not sure I will get to the end of it (heck, not even sure I will reach Bundesliga). At least I should stay at the club until the Aachen jersey gets delivered :).

    how long does it take to sort out those ethnicities and choose the random ids for each of your newgens?

    not alot...I sign between 5-11 players each year with average of 8.

     - you set in preferences that you can see the id (1min)
     - writing down the numers and ethnicity you think is linked to the player (2min)
     - search random pics you want per ethinicty (Poland is easy as all are white central europeans so far) but netherlands took me a bit longer. also I use random.org :D. so 4min.
     - renaming the pics to the id numer and putting them in teh graphics folder (1min)
     - using fmXML to create new config file (10 sec).
     - restart the game (1min)

    guys at FM base created this awesome tool and 60k+ (or even 100k+) computer generated regen faces that look real. Google NewGAN Facepack on FM base.

    there are two ways you can use it. the tool they have. or  what I do...is just change in preferences to show player ID. I note it in excel for all my regens I signed. than I randomly choose (based on ethnicity) some pics from their pack and add them to the game just like any other facepack. (based on id).
