They started the season awful and are bottom last in Serie B, already knocked out the first round of Coppa Italia.
I'm curious if I can get them going and move up the ladder.
I was thinking about this 4-3-3, any suggestions?
I'm not sure about my midfield trio, should I choose for a MEZ-A or CM-A? And will he not occupying the same space as the IF-S, should I choose a IW-S there?
And where do I place my playmaker best? DM or CM-strata? On defend, support or attack? DLP or AP? Or no playmaker at all?
I'm Belgian so no Portugese and although I'm more of a Benfica-fan in Portugal, I've managed all of the big three in Portugal.
And do you consider Jorge Jesus as a traitor? Because he was a Sporting-player and later managed Benfica (2 times) and Sporting as well..
I've accepted the offer and gonna give the rebuild a try! We're 14th just before the World Cup break with 12 (so actually 22) points, 9 points away from European places which is my goal for the first season. Gonna go for a 3421 tactic, but let's start with a staff overhaul!
Yet, you use the following player instructions:
SS: shoot less often
VOL: shoot less often
both WB's: cross more often
@SLB1904.
EDIT: Great tactic though! Really loving the style!
Still 1st of July
I've appointed a completly new staff (except the Head of Youth Development) and I'm now analysing all the players! Benfica's team is pretty big so I'm still busy with all the youth players.
Otamendi wanted to explore his options, so I'm gonna sell him to Brighton for € 6M and I'm probably gonna sell Chiquinho as well. I've triggered the contract extension clause of Grimaldo for an extra season.
Incoming priority's will be 2 DM's and probably a new GK, but haven't explored the market yet.
I have settled for a 4-2-3-1 DM AM Wide which is a mix of yours and @warlock tactical setup:
PF-A
IW-S SS-A IW-A
DM-D SV-S
WB-A CD-D CD-D WB-S
SK-D
