  1. As I started the journey with Bremen, I had to look at the squad to get a good perception of what I'm currently working with. The squad itself is fine, with a few pressing issues - The lack of proper centre backs, a desperate need of another left defender and perhaps a few acquisitions to cover an elderly attack, that clearly doesn't have many years to run together anymore. The players I'm looking to build around are the following gems: Press on the overview picture for a profile! Fresnel Mputu, a player which I've marked as 'the future of Bremen'. A real gem of a defensive midfielder which I am going to situate as a DLP or an anchorman. He's got great mental skills to his age and quite the release clause - Sitting at a whooping seventy-one million euros. He's a local prospect, coming through the academy at the 39/40 season. Soner Arslan, a Holland U20 international, is our current leading striker. He's got the technical abilities to score, and the physical abilities to create himself chances just by running. I'm hopeful that Soner will deliver this season, as we need him in his finest form. As I didn't set up the recruitment team for this summer, I was going to try and bet on players I find interesting from a statistical POV - Showing their superiority in the stats, and not necessarily attributes. As usual, click the scouting/stats image to enter the profile. Shall we begin, then? Enter player number one, Gabriel. A left-back from the Brazilian second division - I decided to bring him in due to his impressive tackle-won ratio and pass-completion ratio. His stats suggest he's great at moving the ball up the pitch and helping the offensive flow of the game. A deal of 1.3 million euros was made and Gabriel signed for us, being my first transfer for this save. Coming up next was Matthias Schulze. Coming from Lotte, an amateur side, this ex-Borussia Dortmund player was playing football that's a class above Lotte's. I decided to take a huge bet on him and bring him in on a free transfer, since such dominance stat wise is rare for me to see, even on an amateur level. Next up, it's time for Wisla Plock's Leandro Unbehaun to shine. This striker is going to be a project of mine to turn into a Wide Target Forward. He looks like he dominates the Polish premier league and it seems moving on is the right thing for both sides. Next up - Niklas Lehmann. One of the signings I made based on PREVIOUS season records, and not current ones. He's getting noted by Hoffenheim's staff and already played 19 games last season in 3. Liga, so I acted fast and signed them as my fourth transfer since arriving at Bremen. Now, the last two signings are perhaps my boldest bets so far, however - They're relatively cheap and I don't mind betting that kind of money on them. First, is Amadou Ouédraogo - Burkina Faso's up and coming star, with one cap to his name at 18. The sole game he's played for Salitas FC this season, combined with his 7 goals and 8 assists from the AMC position last season, made me happily pay 130,000 euros to land him in Bremen. He's a long term investment at this point which I hope would do justice to my recruitment style. The last signing, Korean AMC Ahn Chul-Soo from Daegu, was one I definitely jumped into blind. With no official games or any data other than the fact he's been called up to the Asian Games aged 18, I decided to take a gander and sign Chul-Soo to try and get a cheap bargain, considering his release clause was only 1.3 million euros, which I happily paid. TRANSFERS SUMMARY - Summer 2042
  2. In what I consider my last attempt at a FM24 career update, I decided going for something... Different. Seeing as I spent most of my FM24 honing my player recruitment and development skills, I have decided to take over a team in a save that a dear friend of mine made with Makkabi Berlin, reaching the 2042/2043 season. While he turned Makkabi Berlin into a German powerhouse with multiple titles and three UEFA Champions League wins, some clubs have obviously declined, and weirdly enough, that interested me enough to start a save with SV Werder Bremen, currently in the second Bundesliga, and try to use the knowledge I've gathered from people like @_Ben_ and @danielgear , and make it into a reality in a world I don't really know. A world with a lore of its own that will prevent me from going to the wonderkids I know or players I think of as "guaranteed purchases". Enter Gunther Bauer. A Bremen academy coach - He was promoted to handle first-team affairs in August 2042. A Bremen local, born in 2003, Bauer experienced Werder winning the German Supercup in 2006, the cup win in 2008, and the UEFA Cup run that followed it. He entered the Werder Bremen academy in 2018 and managed to break into the reserves in the following years but retired in 2026, aged 23 after being released - Claiming he "doesn't want to play for any other team.". Bauer quickly started his coaching career at the Werder Bremen academy and was put in charge of the youth teams until his promotion to the assistant manager post of Werder Bremen II in 2035, following by a promotion to the manager role in 2037.
  3. This seems to move along nicely, however - Passarella is a source of worry to me by the looks of his average rating. And still... He's only came off the bench twice. So I reckon that's the learning curve? Also sent you a DM regarding something.
  4. So good to see you back! I'm going to follow this closely as your last save really changed how I work regarding some areas of FM. Scouting, specifically. That setup I made for Sporting CP? I "blame" you. Anyway - Closely following. Good luck, man!
  5. I honestly feel the journey's coming to a well-deserved end. It's been fascinating to read but maybe it's time to open a "final save" kind of thing for FM24. Canada's been a lovely change of pace but I feel you've outgrown this league way too quickly and with the fact other leagues have little histories or "lore" to them - I wouldn't be opposed to follow a new journey if that's what you choose. Still closely following, despite my lack of comments or engagement. Go on, Ben!
  6. The forum rebranding leads me to believe that the FM25 hype train is getting warmed up on the sidelines. When? I think June.
  7. A very intriguing location to play in. I've never touched North America on FM so I'll definitely be following.
  8. Brilliant goal. Brilliant! Works perfectly. Glad I could help
  9. For your information, I find Medal a perfect platform for longer clips. Great update as usual, Ben. Looks like the team really clicked together.
  10. Appreciate that! Also sent you a PM regarding the skin since I don't want to derail the topic further.
  11. I do, yes. I kind of over-progressed and completely forgot updating here. If you guys are still interested, I could write a general summary and go on from there?
  12. A second-place finish is rather impressive and surely a great achievement. I am looking forward to seeing what the future holds for your team. It looks like you're steadily improving, and I'd be optimistic if I were you. Tactically - Do you plan on changing the tactic to a more relationist approach? Or the issue was the lack of a 'cutting-edge' player to give you the edge over Dortmund? I recently started a new save, building Esteban Granero's Marbella from the ground up, with a focus on youth development but without it being youth-only, so I'm taking a lot from this thread regarding scouting and development, it's been a huge help - So thank you for that! I plan to eventually post that one here on the forums but I'm going to see that I actually enjoy the save first. Groningen was too enjoyable and before I knew it, I was 3 seasons in with no way of actually summing up the progress I made. BTW - A great squad view there! I might do a similar one myself.
  13. Would be perfectly fine, assuming I can just incorporate the panel into my modified skin. Appreciate it, man!
  14. Lovely update as usual, @_Ben_! As for relationism: Prime European examples are Henrik Rydstrom's Malmo FF (another example here) and the wonderful The Mutants article on Medium, also by Jamie Hamilton, which goes over relationism and hybrid relationism examples in Europe. I'm glad to be any influence on this save and would be VERY CURIOUS to hear your ideas and approach to relationism in FM. I know I'm still tinkering with it myself, personally. Still waiting for a possible skin release with the DNA bar, even if I have to configure it on a per-save basis :P
  15. Sounds like relationism-oriented approach to me. Should be interesting seeing you taking that approach should you go down that path. Closely following, as usual.
  16. Nothing to be sorry for. Thanks for addressing it!
  17. Weirdly enough, the 'Create New Tactic' button isn't working for me. Tried switching skins between my modded skin and the original, couldn't press button on neither of them. FYI, @_Ben_
  18. The DNA match bar is a fantastic addition to the skin. Would love to have that as well, but I reckon that's a private feature? Either way, brilliant update as usual, Ben.
  19. Just can't let go of this. How efficient is this so far? How did you calculate the efficiency?
  20. I like the analytical angle you have on transfers. It's a great read and honestly it pushes me to try and do the same thing. Just a quick question that ties into this - How is the difference between a striker with 16 finishing with 40% conversion rate and a striker with 13 finishing and a 66% conversion rate comes into play? For the discussion, let's assume both are playing in mid-table teams. How deep do you go into analyzing a player when making such calls? I'm genuinely curious.
  21. Quick question - How'd you managed to fix the XSV% and SV%? It seems broken in my game
  22. Isn't the AM-A and the DLF-S stepping on each other's feet when positioned like this? Also, is there any logic behind using two playmakers?
  23. Now I could use the same for staff, would appreciate knowing what do I need to change.
  24. Is there a specific file I should be looking into? EDIT: Found it myself. Player attributes panel xml and player attributes tactics panel so far.
