@SkiIIs just need to get your defence tightened up a little and you'll storm the league, 109 goals for (a full 35 goals more than the next top scoring club).

I really like players like Ishii 32E either foot full back, pretty quick, great endurance. You have another similar looking one in the intake as well in Nakamura 36B.

What formation are you playing in particular with your full backs/wing backs? I've found its a delicate balancing act when playing a back 4 to get support on the wing in attack as well as being solid in defence......I've still not got it quite right (or got the right players yet).

Im by far the tactician so any feedback is welcomed.  I started the save with a shadow striker instead of DLF but i keep getting strikers and decent ones too coming through the intakes so have now gone with the two up front.

    there is something!

if you offer a contract and they have a locked in minimum release fee just walk away

then, the next day, go to contract on the player and it has the option to 'resolve contract talks with agent' or something.

then you tell the agent their inflexibility scuppered the deal and more often than not they back down and when you re-open contract talks the release fee isn't locked in

doesn't work all the time but more often than not i've found.

shout out to this post, i just tried this and it worked a treat. 3m minimum transfer clause gone!

    Thanking you sir!

Can I just say of my dislike for Robbie Savage as the owner of Macclesfield (though it probably just extends to chairpersons/owners in general in the game and more specifically the coding/logic around the reasons and discussions when making requests)

SIX times he has now refused to sanction my coaching course with just the one time the other way.

The initial rejection comes is as "Whilst we appreciate that it's a very valid thing to want to do, we fear that bettering yourself could lead to a bigger club coming in for your services. We're therefore inclined to say no"

So I discuss it and I'd love at this point to have options like:

    • Give ultimatum of approving it or I resign
    • I'll sign a new contract with full percentage compensation
    • I want to be hear for the long term, ask you to trust me

    However I get one option:

"I'd like to further my development by going on a coaching course please"

That is really weak, I want to be more forceful on this matter especially when the other coaches are getting their courses approved.

So I choose the only option and the response contradicts the initial rejection:

"We don't believe that it would be beneficial for you to undertake a course right now. That concludes this meeting. In future, please do not waste our time with things like this."

Makes zero sense: its a valid thing to do & we fear of losing you -> no benefit to you & stop wasting our time.

But you better believe I'll be wasting their time when it next becomes available

i found the same challenge with him on coaching badges as well.  Although he was quite forthcoming on youth recruitment and junior coaching so i wasnt too displeased with him

Here comes an insight into my DNA squad building. Maybe the Earl wants to show off a bit or make the whole effort a bit visible for more people than himself.

The Earl has put together a Team DNA for developing into a mean/machine Team. Note that our team personalty is highly ambitious. This is why players on low determination or unambitious players have no room and should set their sails elsewhere.

First Picture is our first team. All key attributes are summed up into a DNA score. The Earl will also notice all personality changes. All measures are taken in August when the squad is full together (all loans back, all transfers out) and January. The Earl can then decide on which part of the DNA to put more effort in training. At the moment the main part is distributed into technical skills like TEC, PAS, VIS & FIR. Especially in U18s training. Training facilities are excellent since Nov 71.

As you can see in the 1st squad the effort in Technical skills is paying off. Overall the squad gained 29 attribute points since August. Tyler Wright gained 7 points after gaining 13 points before and is clearly a player to watch closely. On the other hand Kenny Keen who is highly talented and promising and has a resolute personality is scratching his attributes together. He is clearly one to worry, often injured and having a hard time to find some good match form. Loric Kalala has maintained his skills over a long period of time and is still one of the best, despite his age. One can also find underrated players who don't seem to match on first sight but score high on the club essentials, players like Gregory Meyers ore Ade Izzet. Ross Beadle is the best, he is the beast we all want to see on the pitch for our side. You can also see that players gain crucial attribute points in later stages of their careers, like Ross or like Tom Moore, Meyers or Izzet. Our most promising youngster Solomon Olaniyi who measures 201cm is developing exceptional and will be our future captain. Leadership is 18 and his realist personality will be grounding for everyone. Together with 200cm Mo Yarjah they will form the 401cm twintower defence. At the moment I play both of them with a more experience squad player (Meyers/ Izzet) to further support their development.

Here we can see the youth squad. A noticed before I only take over players with good personalities and there where few in the last years.

As TEC skills are hard to gain my focus lies heavily on this part of player development in the U18s. It did pay off, especially after some adjustments at the beginning of the season. Last years didn't brought the expected results. I changed training schedules and coaches. Rob Grimshaw did develop really promising and gained 12 attribute points in the Ricay DNA. Ashley Church and Danny Douglas are loaned out as they are above 18 and does not have a true chance in our 1st team. Ashley Church seems to use his time well and will be worth a second look. Danny will have to move on. Ashley is now in the green range with above 160 "points". Warren Barker (he is yellow range, need to change that) is the one I watch, his 5 points gains are what we are looking for.

you does everyone extract they attributes for each player?  im a little tech challenged but i couldnt imagine manually entering the data into a spready

Another season pretty much like the last, and that's perfectly fine at this stage. We are still finding our feet at this level, and as long as we stay up, I'm happy. The club is improving as a whole, and the youth intakes seems to become better and better as I get more improvements accepted. So the future looks bright for us. Now we just need to continue what we are doing and then slowly push up the table. It's clear the main issue is that we concede too many goals. Looking at the xG table, we conceded 18(!) more goals than we should have, so I don't think it's tactical, just a lack of quality. The issue is that my goalkeeper should be good enough, and indeed he is one of the best players at the club, but he still concedes on average a goal a game over xG! I have no idea why he does so bad, but I don't have any options to him right now... Let's just hope this season was a fluke for him, and that he will come good soon.

Schweizer Cup: We beat Delémont and Schaffhausen before we lost to Sion in the 3rd round.

    Best players from the academy:

Yonatan Teshome 26b - Great development and a good season where he scored and assisted quite a bit.
Lorik Selmani 25c - Excellent development, but haven't shown it on the pitch yet.
Mërgim Aliu 26a - The theme this season is great development, but issues getting it out on the pitch and he too has the same.

    New club records:

Most goals in a match - Ydris Regaïa - 3 goals
Most goals in a league match - Ydris Regaïa - 3 goals
Worst discipline - Safet Alic - 17 yellow cards, 4 red cards
Most league apps - Anthony De Freitas - 198 apps
Fastest goal - Safet Alic - 28 seconds

The board accepted a couple of improvements this season.

    Season 2034 - Versport FC - J1 League

Let's start with off the field first. Sponsorship money usually comes in on the last day of the calendar year and for some reason, we got a massive boost heading into this season which made us having the largest sponsorship deal in the country. Ridiculous, but very much welcomed.  So 4 days later and we have our training facility upgrade approved to get us to Excellent. Three weeks later the Youth Facility request popped up which i hadnt seen for years so we also got that approved to take us to Adequate.  This request did not reappear again so it might be stuck again.  That is the good news, the bad news is that it didnt take much longer for Yokohama FM to come back in and trigger Kitano's release clause again and this time, as they were promoted back into J1, the little squirt accepted.

On the field, it was pretty much a carbon copy of last year. We got one less point, one better goal difference and finish one spot higher than last.  We also made the semi finals for both cups again.  We found a new starter in right back at the ripe age of 17 and a couple of decent rotational options in midfield but apart from that not much change.

Takahiro Takahashi though looks like he might become a good midfielder for us. Strong mentally but lacks in strength and work rate which is his concern

seem to get a flurry of strikers coming through and Shunya Watanabe is another that may develop into a player. Strong finishing, heading and technically sound with a few 9's that could beef him up a little

    Season 2032 - Versport FC - J1 League

Our first ever season in the top league started off with a huge slap of the face! First game at home against Nagoya who were predicted to finish 8th and within 55 minutes we found ourselves 5 - 0 down. We ended up fighting back to 5 - 3 but i had expected the worse from there. Next game away against Tosu who were predicted 17th, we walked away 7 - 0 winners haha. With this young team, it was consistently inconsistent as we were good enough to knock off the top teams but then fall away and lose a few games in a row as well.  But overall, I couldnt have asked for more than a midtable finish and not losing any players either.  However quite a few have resigned with minimum fee release clauses, so watch this space.

    Screenshot2024-06-20125831.thumb.png.61bbed0dd5f737e8aba206face60fe14.png

As we were promoted to the same league as Gamba Osaka, im glad our affiliation was ceased without any awkwards moments.  Our Youth Facilities were upgraded, although we really didnt need to take out a loan of 21m to complete the works as per the Chairperson's statement, id sack your accountant buddy!  Other thing of note is that one of my key winger/attacker did his ACL and will be missing for 12 months.   I needed not to worry about the loan taken out for the stadium as finances weren't too bad and hopefully improve again when we move into our new stadium.

Kazuki Yoyoda 32B is probably my pick of the bunch despite the average personality. Good physicals, not bad mentals and pretty good finishing for a 16yo

    Screenshot2024-06-20092259.thumb.png.eb6d23554c01d426be3d9fb73feaa3a4.png

Hiroki Tsuda 32D is my second pick although I dont start off with a DM so might need to retrain to a B2B midfielder

    Season 2028 - Versport FC - J3 League

Our fifth straight season in J3 was used as a transition season to ingrain more youngsters into the team and push out the ageing team I inherited at start.  On this basis, i wasnt expecting much from the season however we were surprised that after a sluggish start we went on some really good runs and with 8 games to go were sitting in second.  However, the same cliff that has hampered us in previous years hit about the same time and 1 win in 7 games put us not only out of automatic promotion but got us out of the play off spots.  Two wins in the end made it look respectable.

    Youth Intake

I swear I had taken a picture of the youth intake, my screenshots have been playing up a little but I did take a snapshot of the two best prospects (even though im sure i had taken 3)

Ive got Sho Nishimura 28C as my best prospect as he is a walk in starter for me so should develop nicely with his good determination and great personality

    Screenshot2024-06-08110041.thumb.png.4f77d63eb548f9511e727d8c3abbe0a5.png

This fella is also a walk in starter and will slot in the Mezzala role well. Im playing 2 men up front this save but would have been suited in the Shadow Striker role i usually play so might change tactics when required.

    Season 2026 - Versport FC - J3 League

Season started off well again and we spent majority of the season in top spot, but never really managed to build a gap between 3rd spot. Similar to the season before we ran out of puff towards the end of the season and slipped all the way to scrapping into the play offs. Our play off game against 3rd spot was for some reason at home and we managed to go up 1 - 0 in the 32nd minute but then conceded after the break and Toyama went through as the higher seed.

    Screenshot2024-06-07101701.thumb.png.9c176bab9528155936715cde305543c7.png

We made some improvements throughout the year and have now got excellent youth recruitment and junior coaching so hopefully we should start seeing some good intakes come through.  Our level is still low so hopefully some that we can slot straight into the team would be nice. We also improved training facilities at the end of the year once sponsorship money came in, Im yet to see the youth facility upgrade become available throughout the save!

    Season 2025 - Versport FC - J3 League

Second season i was hoping for much of the same as we have enough players to fill out the bench albeit some with no CA stars at all. We started off really well but then had 4 losses in a row and never really recovered after that.  Form was patchy and we needed a win on the last day to make playoffs, funnily enough games on the last day arent at the same time and we were the last game.  We needed to beat FC Osaka away and after going down 2 - 0 after 24 minutes, i thought our season was over.  However we fought back to go in at half time square then managed to score a latish winner to set us up a play off game against 3rd spot Iwate.  Neither team was able to score and so they went through to the final on seeding and subsequently did the same thing in the final going up a division by seeding.

Season 2044/45 - Macclesfield FC - Premier League

Our first ever back to back season in the Premier League was something to be proud of, especially after having a good season last and avoiding a relegation battle altogether. Unfortunately we werent able to build on last year and struggled to gain any prolong periods of decent results. We were always hovering around the relegation zone without really dropping in it until round 33.  And from there we couldnt manage the results to survive.  A disappointing season.

We did get a decent intake tho however ive decided to pause on this save and try somewhere where i think I can actually complete the challenge which be the make of my next update.
