  1. To be fair, I wouldn't be mad if it looked something like this... with just a touch more personality added. This should be the base level, the bare minimum, and on top of that it should be personalized, and unique. Unique in terms of: 1 - having a clear identity, when you look at it, you know it's Football Manager, rather than "Generic sports simulator 1". 2 - having the colors adjust based on club you're managing/competition you're in. When I manage a club, I want it to look and feel different. League 2 side, and Premier League sides should have differences. How do you achieve that? Well for one, I think the amount and quality of data shown on various screens should decrease the lower you go (and less staff / less quality staff you have). There should be a setting you can enable, if you want a realistic representation, or if you want to just play and have all the information available. And all of this should be visually represented in a way that you can notice and differentiate between a top level side, and an amateur team. At this moment, the previews we got actually look worse than the screenshot above, which is slightly concerning (but then again, we haven't seen how it actually looks in-game).
  2. Well imo, this one just looks old, and not that great nowadays, because of the color scheme (among other things). General design trends have shifted, and you can really tell if you look at some 10+ year old websites, that just don't look that good. Look at the forums, they've changed over the years. It's more modern now. Nowadays the trend is simplicity. In terms of shapes, colors, everything. The screenshot that you posted is the complete opposite. Also, not to mention that a lot of people just prefer "dark mode", whether it's for websites/apps, or games like FM. How many websites had dark mode, let's say in 2015? Almost none. Nowadays, every app has it. Youtube, Spotify, SI forums, X/Twitter... People like it, people used all kinds of extensions to have websites in dark mode, and now developers are finally adding the ability for everyone to use it without any addons. What we really need is to have options. Option for dark and light mode would be nice, but most importantly an option to customize things to your own liking (like we do have now, where anyone can learn how to edit files and customize a skin to their own liking).
  3. I've been saying for years now that we need an UI/UX revamp, and I'm glad they've made this step forward finally. Now, the UI itself looks very rough. I get that it's WIP, and that these aren't in-game screenshots, but I'm slightly worried with the direction it's going in. I have no doubt the UX will be a huge improvement, as the current thing is 20 years old at this point, with not that many changes. Just clicking on boxes to pull up more info is greatly going to improve things. But the UI for PC version needs to look different than this. This looks like it was made for tablet/console. Also, I'm really wondering what this means for the future of skinning and customization. I'm pretty sure the whole thing is not going to work in the same way, which means skinning isn't going to be the same. Is it going to be possible at all? Is it going to be very-difficult (compared to what we have now). It's a whole different programming language I'm assuming, and tinkering with files might be way different than what we have now.
  4. I'm not sure at this moment, as I don't have an access to my PC. I'd just look at all the other "player attributes panel" files, and replace the following bit of code. I'll post an update later this evening, to sort it out, and make it optional.
  5. The file for that is player attributes panel 2, it's the same process (replacing a bit of code, that I posted at the bottom of my first post). A bit tricky, and imo doesn't look as good, but it's doable. Find the tactics overview side panel file, locate the line 210 below which is the "pitch with tactics". Replace the <container>, with <container class="main_contrast_box_no_margin" red_replacement="green 900"> Should do the trick.
  6. The skin has been released, mods can lock this topic. v1.0 includes redesigned Club page, nation page is still default, and I'll get to it once I have the time.
  7. After not releasing a skin last year, I'm back again this year, with Livid for FM 2024. - Credits to Wozzie (Tato Skin), FMEnhanced, TCS, Ben (Statman skin), and others, for inspiration, as well as various bits and pieces of code that I probably have included in some way in my skin. This skin features: Redesigned Home page Redesigned Club page Redesigned Player page Redesigned Non-player page Redesigned Match panels Redesigned Tactics screen Instant Result button And some other bits and pieces... Please note that this skin was designed for a 1920x1080 resolution, at regular zoom settings. At this moment, I'm using attribute bars for player screens, I might change it to regular attribute numbers at some point, when I have the time to do so. For anyone who doesn't want to wait for the update, and wants to use attribute numbers instead: Download link: https://www.mediafire.com/file/8wn5anccayemcy2/Livid+24+v1.0.zip/file
  8. Update: Staff panel 95% done, also finished with player popups. What's left? Nation overview panel, and spending a bunch of time actually playing the game, so I can spot the issues. Also, it would be nice to have some different icons, as you may have noticed, I have just used the same icon for all the stuff on player and staff panels. I have plans for the manager screen as well, though it's not a priority, and I'm happy to release a skin without that panel finished. Match panels should be fine, though I haven't tested them much.
  9. I am not sure which version I want to release yet. For some reason the attribute bars are not working on staff profiles (worked in fm23), so I might just go for numbers instead, on all screens.
  10. Hello everyone, last year I didn't release a skin, but this year I'm definitely planning to (despite having even less free time). Depending on how FM25 skinning works, this might very well be my last time releasing a skin (if it doesn't change too much, then we will see). Props to the UI/UX team as well, as the FM24 skin does look more clean and modern, definitely. It's small things, like the titlebar/search bar, popups, or the overall background that isn't one solid color all the way through. There is some stuff though, that has remained largely unchanged for years now, so custom skins definitely are needed to change that. Right now, it's still a work in progress. I'm planning to redesign the staff profile, nation, and club screens in a similar style/layout as the rest of the skin (see below). The tactics screen is clearly inspired by @_Ben_'s Statman skin, in terms of layout. Previously I had ideas for a tabbed container as well, but couldn't make my vision into the reality: The home screen, which I'm not sure how I feel about now in terms of looks, but it does what I want it to do. Finally, the player overview screen. I myself don't care for all those "advanced" stats and stuff like that, so this also works for me in terms of the functionality. Feedback is appreciated though, I do want to know what other people usually want on this screen. I also prefer the attribute bars for some reason, credits to @TCSSkin for that. These screens are also 90-95% finished, as I have mostly carried over the design from my unreleased personal skin from FM23. The release date? Well, I don't have much time, like I mentioned, but I'm hoping to release it at least before the official release date. If any other skin-creators notice certain things that look similar, or the same as in their own skins, please mention it, as this skin is a mix of the stuff I've added over the last several years, so it's very much possible I have copy-pasted some code from another skin. It's just hard to remember and keep track of. Also if there is such stuff, please say if you want it removed before I release the skin. Any feedback is appreciated.
  11. It's a dream come true honestly. There are so many options now, and so many new tactics that are going to be possible.
  12. Just downloaded the game after coming home, and I have to say, the game just looks much better, in terms of the UI. It just looks nicer, cleaner, and more modern.
  13. I can already see it, beta is out around 5-6 PM, I'm still at work, counting down the time until I get home, it feels like an eternity...
  14. Now that might not be a bad idea, since I have a new PC, I can probably run both at the same time. Though Cities 2 is very demanding apparently, and not sure if I could actually play those 2 at the same time
  15. Speaking of, I was afraid Cities Skylines 2 and FM24 would release on the same day... In that case I'd need to take a week off from work, because these are the 2 of my most anticipated games right now. Thankfully beta is releasing later today, so I'll play it this weekend, and have time for Cities during the next week.
  16. But seriously, the fact that the videos went up in the morning, definitely means the beta is coming out later today, in the afternoon/evening.
  17. Right, so the FM24 videos are out, everything is point out for a release this evening or tomorrow.
  18. But the official release is on the 6th, Spider-Man 2 has nothing to do with it. Especially because it's aimed at a totally different audience.. Therefore, beta is releasing in 12 minutes.
  19. It depends how sweet it is. Too much is obviously a dealbreaker, but if it's just sweet enough, it's amazing.
  20. That pizza was named after Margherita of Savoy, who was born on 20th of November 1851, which was on Thursday. So it's confirmed, beta is definitely out on Thursday.
