  3. EDIT OP: *As you can see on timestamp there were 4 shots that hit the woodwork for my team and on my screenshot above only shows 3. Timestamp: 1. 32:39 - Diarra The Best AI 4-2-3-1 C v TEAM E.pkm
  4. I've seen a lot of shots hit the woodwork ( like FM23 ) in the match engine but the problem is that in the match stats they don't show them all and by extension in the Data Hub it's probably the same. I have read in a thread that you have checked the issue and that the numbers you see are as in real life. It may be why users are saying one thing and your team is saying another. Timestamp: 1. 15:08 - Okonkwo 2. 43:26 - Rosiak 3. 43:29 - Okonkwo 4. 72:18 - King *As you can see on timestamp there were 4 shots that hit the woodwork for my team and on my screenshot above only shows 3. I've seen much more that weren't show in the match stats, especially those made from direct free kicks.
  5. This is not a bug because the ball is at the GK's feet. Usually teams go to one side of the pitch in these situations, especially on goal kicks. Now for the other screen shots and reports, I had also seen them on FM23 happen very often when my players were defending. They leave a lot of space outside the box and obviously the opposition pass the ball to the player standing outside the box and 70-80% are goals from these situations.
  6. I have some questions about some team instructions in the game. I would like someone who knows exactly what attacking width ( narrow/wide ) means in relation to how my team plays. For example, if I set my team to play narrow does this mean that my players will simply have closer spacing, pass more in the middle or both? The example also applies to wide attacking width. Does the Focus Play Left/Middle/Right team instruction mean exactly the same as attacking width, assuming that attacking width means my players pass more in that direction or something else? When does each team instruction come into play? In the buildup phase or in the attacking third? Happy FMing everyone
  7. Don't wait for an answer bro. No one(including SI Staff) know what exactly those instructions do if you add a TI and then increased/decreased it on PI.
  8. I don't know if this has to do with the directness of the passes or a problem in the game but when you set shorter passing, the passes seem to be softer with the risk of the opponent stealing the ball. I have seen it happen several times, especially when the centre backs pass to the wing backs or defensive midfielders.
  9. There are a lot of instructions that we don't know what they do and all the time we have to guess and say "oh this is it... or is it this..." etc. I'm also an old player of this game and I'm still trying to figure out what most of the instructions in the game do. Another big issue with this sometimes is that the UI description doesn't give us a good explanation or at least gives us a little bit of what an instruction does and also every new version or update may change something in ME but the UI remains the same. For example if you set Play Out Of Defence there are many aspect of your play style that will change. Defensive line and DM position will pass the ball shorter than the rest of the team. GK will try to distribute the ball to defenders more often(it depends of his duty and Take More Risks PI) without even set Distribution Area/Position to him. DM positioned players will drop deeper to get the ball from defenders. It will slow down team’s build up and increase the amount of passes between defensive line and DM position. And the description simply says that defenders will bring the ball up with passes rather than kick it out. (I don't remember exactly how it mentions it)
  10. It's true. FM tends to simulate football irl or at least that's SI's approach but I, as a manager shouldn't I know exactly what I'm asking my players to do? They certainly won't do it 100% and at all times because a given instruction is a tendency but it makes it even harder to actually understand some instructions in the game. More Direct Passing can mean one of the things written above or all of them. Except that the description is almost the same as Take More Risks which this instruction is not just about passing but is about the general risk the player takes in certain or all situations within the match.
  11. Okay Another question is when I use Shorter Passing as TI and set More Direct Passing as PI on one of my players, what actually happens? Will he pass the ball faster forward or will he pass the ball to a teammate at a longer distance?
  12. @Johnny Ace I have some questions about overlaps and underlaps. Overlaps: - Except Wingers who will hold the ball and search for a full back who overlap to pass, is there any other position which will pass to that overlap? Underlaps: - If I enable underlaps on both sides, then the Wingers will hold the ball and look to pass to a teammate who make a run inwards. Is this also the case with Full-Backs? So they're looking for a teammate running inwards? - Which roles are better suited for this instruction?
  13. @Louisking1992 in which mentality did you see that behaviour of your STs? It's only your STs or did you see that from other players too?
  14. It's one of the many bugs with this year's game. If you look here you’ll find it.
  15. Yes i use Tackle Harder and SK. I'm trying to create a good solid tactic that scores many goals and concede less. Just this.
  16. These are the obvious solutions. Is there no way to stop them? If they manage to make those long balls, then it's 50/50 to concede a goal. So the important thing here is to somehow not give them the space. I've tried with maximised trigger press, with mark tighter and mid block but nothing. Im playing with 424 formation.
  17. @Johnny Ace how can i stop opposing DMs to play long balls over the top of my defence and also defend better wider areas?
  18. Yes i know this im just asking you if you find any role more effective on this ME or any other role that use more often direct passes than other.
