Results: Only started the season but you can see that we are 2nd in the XG Table, we are top 5 in avg possession and we are the 2nd that shoots the most and etc.

Based on the video up there: Flick's Bayern of 2020 where Thiago Kimmich and Coutinho/Goretzka shared the midfield and dominated with the beautiful front line of Gnabry/Lewandowski/Muller to complete the Treble. Today I will share my emulation of Flick's Bayern. as you can see in the Build up here, Both Thiago and Kimmich drop deep when the two Ball-Playing Defenders are in difficulty. Hence why I gave them the role of: Regista and DLP-D as you can see kimmich used to drop deep more than Thiago hence why i gave him the dlp-d role and he does it often in some games. The Wingbacks: as you can see for the left back and right back, Pavard and Davies are used to bomb up the flank ( Davies will go more up than Pavard and will dribble more than pavard to get into the LW area ) and they inverted less often so I decided to give them these roles: Davies: Pavard: The Forwards: as you can see here both Muller and Gnabry tuck in the half space but they have very different roles: Muller often stays behind the line to provide killer balls for Gnabry who cuts without the ball. and Gnabry can choose whether to shoot or pass it for a Lewandowski tap-in. They also roamed from position all the 3 of them. So these are the positions I gave for Bayern's front three: Gnabry: Muller's role: Now for muller role I started with RMD-AT with " dribble less " and " take more risks " ppm but i often found that he wasn't involved in the creation of attacks and was really playing like wide poacher which isnt how Muller plays under Flick so I've decided to give him this role: You can switch between AM-AT or AM-SU depending on your preferences. Lewandowski: a simple complete forward who roams around and does it all! Robert Lewangoalski! Goretzka/Coutinho role: Now the role changes depending on the player. For Goretzka: For Coutinho: The Center Backs: Flick's Bayern used two Ball Playing Defenders ( Alaba and Boateng) , one of the two dribbled more often to the other zones of the pitch while the other one dribbled less . Alaba: Boateng: So this is the tactic: other variation: Defensive Shape: One of Flick's Bayern strengths was the pressing. as you can see, they were all marking tight on their players , the front three tried to suffocate the back while the midfielders and defenders pushed up. When deep in their own zone, Bayern often used a 4-2-1-3 or a 4-1-4-1 while defending. so here's my opposition instructions that I used to replicate the way Flick's Bayern pressed: ( quick edit: remove pass into space since it is not necessairly needed but it can help if you want to keep it keep it)

Why not Busquets as Anchor man? DLP-d roams off position and doesnt stick to the hole lik busquets does. And i would prolly play messi as T-AT with ( cuts inside,sits narrower,pass it shorter) and Neymar as W-AT ( with the ppm of cutting inside) since he was really wide sometimes. Suarez DLF-AT makes sense for me. Old iniesta MEZ-AT? Idk about that but maybe

I decided to put Neymar and Messi as AMR and AML because sometimes they were wide and because Neymar's role is kind of hard to replicate in the AMCL position. But maybe there could be a way to do it.

Galtier's 3-4-2-1 With PSG taking in Galtier, there was a change in their tactic. The team started to play this new 3421 system that did wonders in the beginning of the season before the World Cup. First 13 seconds this is what it looks like: and afterwards i saw that rodri went too much wide as a cm-d so i decided to switch the formation to this: by focusing play on the left, we see gundogan going to the left halfspace much more! the only problem now is that the LB is too wide and the rb doesnt cut inside: but now, it seems to work:

went with this: è maybe for gundogan i'll use RPM with move into channels.. im not so sure. its the same for grealish ( same for kdb too)

GUYS! Got an update on the 3241 of Pep: This was the official starting formation: I dont know if you can see that well but Rodri is a LCM , Gundo is a cm and debruyne is RCM. Akanji is lb, dias is cb , stones is rcb and walker rb so this could help for the 3-2-4-1 Shape.

CM-At: Roam From Position, Take More Risks AP-AT: Roam From Position, Get Further Forward FB-D: Dribble Less, Shoot Less Often , Sits Narrower Iw-su: Tackle Harder,Sits Narrower, Roam From Position WB-At: Dribble More, Stays Wider

My conclusion: Although I agree that it should be easier to replicate those sides, I think that there's a more efficient way of Replicating a 3-2-4-1. You can either do it by making a pure 3421 or This: ( Alternative)

2. Xavi's Barca Now this one is a bit more difficult , Im trying Koundé as a IWB-D but I think that IWB-D goes a bit forward compared to FB-D and Baldé does not get high enough to form the 4 line behind the striker So I changed Koundé to FB-D and put baldé in the WB strata Now it looks good at the back , problem is Gavi as a IW-SU doesnt go narrow as much. So I changed Gavi to AP-SU and now this is the shape: 3241!

No, Mezzala fits well wit if because mezzala is a half winger but it doesnt fit well with IW because it sits in the half space like the IW. You can play mezzala with IF/RMD/WTM/W but not with AP/IW/T( to an extent(=)

its not really classic because before 2000s CL was only a knockout tournament no groups. The same could be said for UEFA Cup and the other cups. What I would love to see is the cup winners cup coming back
