A professional footballer coming out as gay would be a significant and positive step forward, statistically it's likely there are many players who feel they need to stay closted due to the lack of acceptance shown universally across the football community. It's 2019 and we still have players making monkey gestures to players, it's a sorry state of affairs, so the bravery of someone to put themselves out there by coming out and potentially open themselves up to abuse from the terraces is a HUGE deal.

A player being adulterous is just another Tuesday night in the Rooney household.

I've only had one player come out in the game, and it was a great feature to see. Actually felt a little guilty selling him about 4 years later but he was about 28 and I had an amazing 20 year old who was performing better.
