So, I tried this and the field are not changeable in basic and I can not find in advance, though I know it should be an easy fix.

Any help would be greatly recieved.

On this screen- change the number of relegation spaces to 0.

    image.thumb.png.f88776200ee139ad4daceebcaf4d8fd3.png

Then in the Championship, make the number of promotion spaces 0 too.

    image.thumb.png.9aca957d20b99988d22e1d9bbcb2cf0c.png

You can then remove the playoff stage altogether as you no longer have any playoffs:

Test this and see if it works.

    Hello...

Need some advice regarding changing the amount of subs, it works but for the following season when a new game is started, so instead of the 20/21 season it stays at 3 subs but will change to 5 for the 21/22.

What could i be doing wrong ?

    Cheers

Need more information. Maybe share the editor file.

    Hi,

Sorry for the basic bitch question, but how do I stop relegation from the premier league?

Ive set up a phantasy football type scenario over three seasons, I’ve edited all the teams and player etc, but need to make sure no relegation occurs.

    Is this possible?

    Thanks in advance.

I'm guessing this is possible in basic nation rules? Definitely in advanced nation rules.

Go to Rules > Add Nation Rules > England > Add lower divisions to existing structure. Then change Championship promotions and Premier League Relegations to 0.

How can I edit a league/nation to generate better players?

When I start a save in San Marino national league, players usually have 40-50 CA, but I want to edit this to 60-70 CA. This last interval is the average CA from players in 7th tier Italian football, and I'll be starting with San Marino Calcio there, so I want the Sammarinese newgens to be at least competitive in that league

I believe you can change the youth rating, like so:

  4. Going to bump this with another issue related to stadiums.

Even if a stadium is set to be built in the future, it is built immediately and can be used by other teams. The team that's supposed to move in doesn't do so until they're told.

Please can this be fixed so I can set stadiums to be built in future, or can I prevent teams from using it until that date at least?

  5. Will add to this again as it's somewhat relevant.

The developers should look at the way attendances are calculated, particularly in neutral venues. I've created a tournament played in Portugal which features, among other things, top Portuguese clubs playing against EPL sides in neutral stadiums. Because the reputation of the tournament is only ~50, a match between Benfica and Liverpool in Leiria (an hour north of Lisbon) is only getting a crowd of 11,000 in a stadium that holds twice that. In reality, even a friendly between those teams would sell out most stadiums. In fact, Liverpool could probably fill any stadium in the world, regardless of who they're playing and in which tournament. The game should better reflect that in my opinion, putting more weight on the teams playing and less on the competition reputation.

Another thing more of a bug than anything, is that which team is home and away should have no impact on the attendance in a neutral stadium. In any neutral stadium outside of a team's own country, the attendance should be decided by the reputations of the teams involved. For example, if Liverpool play Benfica in China, the crowd should not be affected by whether Liverpool or Benfica are 'at home'.

  6. Anyone know if this is a bug, or have i missed something?

Trying to set a club's friendlies to be played away from their main stadium, but almost all friendlies are still played at the main stadium. Sometimes (once every 5 or 10 years) a friendly will be played at one of the alternate stadiums specified but this doesn't happen often. Anyone know if there's a solution to this?

  7. Just to tack onto the end of this, corporate facilities should also be tied to the stadium, not the club. When renting a stadium, you'll rent their corporate facilities too, even if that's at extra cost or if the owner takes a % cut of matchday revenue.

There's also no option to improve the corporate facilities level when you change stadium, which would be solved by attaching them to the stadium rather than the club. You could also be able to improve corporate facilities by expanding an existing stadium too, which is almost always cheaper than a whole new stadium.

Generally I think a club's stadium is so tied to a club's income that this should be thought about more.

  8. This could be construed as a bug, but it effectively comes down to a lack of options in the editor.

You can create a stadium set to be built in future, and set a % chance for a team to move there, but you can't actually set a % chance of it being built in the first place.

This results in an issue that can be seen below, where St Pats are still planning a new stadium, but it has already been built and other teams are using it for their matches (whilst they build a stadium of their own).

Although this particular example was constructed using the editor, it can occur naturally in the base game. For example, Everton sometimes don't move into the new Bramley-Moore Dock stadium, but it is built regardless, and can hold other matches.

Some control over this would be good, perhaps just a flag within the team stadium change section which states "Stadium is not built if team do not move".

I finally managed to make everything work! Thank you very much for your help.

The teams that lose the knockout stage drop into the lower Continental Cup, and the teams in 3rd place in the group stage also drop to the lower Continental Cup just for the playoffs stage.

I will post the final recipe once I'm sure it works, so anyone who find this post can mimic it, but first I must be sure everything else works.

I'm now just facing an error where an extra team from Mexico inexplicably joins the Continental Cup way before the expected date, which leaves the tournament with 41 teams instead of 40 leaving a mess. I hope it's something I can fix once I modify Mexico competitions.

One final question: In advanced mode, can I change many competitions at once? For example: Mexico rules, USA rules, Continental rules, etc., Or do I need to do it in separate editor files?

My answer to this is do them all in separate files which you load together. As long as you never change the same thing in multiple files you should be ok. In my experience merging files causes issues, but there may well be a better way and I'm all ears if there is.

  10. Make all 13 rounds in stage 0. No need for additional stages. Then the Byes will be automatic based on the number of teams and matches in each round.

For example, round 1 would be:

    Teams: 240
    Teams to add: 240
    Matches: 128

    And round 3 would be:

    Teams: 124
    Teams to add: 60*
    Matches: 62

*To ensure the correct teams are added each round, make sure your list is in the right order in the teams section. Teams at the top of the list will enter the tournament first by default (I think?) but you can use the 'reverse teams in list' option to switch that, which is usually more helpful if you want better teams to qualify later.

  11. Why separate stages and not multiple rounds within a stage? Or are you saying you want a team to be given a bye to a whole separate competition? In which case you'll need to use fate actions but I'm not sure exactly how you'd do that. Maybe fate actions one round earlier, select X winners at random and send them to the other stage / competition early.

  12. Hmm good question. You'd have to test it. There probably is a way. Whats the structure of your tournament? If you have 2o teams, and stage 0 is a qualifying round, and stage 1 is a group stage for 12 teams (8 qualifiers from stage 0 + 4 teams which were given byes) then maybe just bring all 20 teams into the 'Qualified teams' section, and then randomly select 16 of those to enter at stage 0, and 4 to enter at stage 1?

  13. It should do it automatically if the number of teams you enter into the round doesn't match the number of matches.

For example if you enter 20 teams into a round but set 8 matches, 16 teams will play in 8 matches and 4 will be given byes. Therefore, 12 teams will qualify for the next round automatically.

Ever wanted to take the likes of Cherry Orchard FC or Kilmacrennan Celtic from the amateur leagues to the Champions League? Then this is the database for you!

This database re-imagines the Irish football league system as a pyramid, with relegation to the provincial divisions, and makes thousands of other changes to competitions, clubs, stadiums and players.

Firstly, a new League of Ireland Second Division has been added. This is regionalised into a northern and southern conference, with a single promotion place offered via the playoffs between them. The bottoms sides in each also compete in a relegation playoff. Limiting the number of teams promoted and relegated keeps a level of stability in each division, and means that promoted teams usually do quite well the following season.

The Regional Senior Divisions have been adjusted and expanded. The three provincial winners play in a playoff for promotion to the League of Ireland. Leinster get an additional promotion playoff place as the largest province in the ROI and the largest senior league. 1-2 teams are relegated from the provincial Premier divisions.

Additional changes include the activation of the Intermediate Cup for lower-level teams and an adjustment of the FAI and League of Ireland Cups. A full list of changes follows:

    - Additional leagues added and pyramid structure with promotion and relegation to the regional leagues established.
    - Shelbourne and Cork City have been spared relegation from the Premier Division to keep 12 teams in the Premier Division from 2021.
    - The League of Ireland First Division has been expanded to 12 teams with the addition of Kilkenny City and Monaghan Utd.
    - Treaty United have been added to the League of Ireland First Division, as they have been in real life.
    - The 'Treaty City Derby' between Limerick and Treaty United has been added.
    - The new League of Ireland Second Division is regionalised north and south. The top two teams qualify for the Promotion Playoff and the bottom team from each region plays in a relegation playoff, with the loser relegated.
    - Provincial senior leagues have been activated, with the winners of each division qualifying for a playoff for the single promotion spot. The top two in Leinster qualify as it's the largest province.
    - The 'Ulster Senior league' has become the 'Ulster and Connaught Senior League' with relegation to/from the Galway Junior league, Connaught Junior League, Ulster Junior League and/or the Innisowen Junior League.
    - B-teams can play as high as the Second Division, but specific rules apply to those sides, for example relating to the number of loanees and full-time players that can play.
    - A maximum of four reserve sides can play in the Second Division, and reserve teams are denied promotion from the senior leagues once this is met.
    - Shamrock Rovers II allowed to play in the First Division, but if relegated, they cannot be re-promoted.
    - The FAI Intermediate Cup has been activated for teams in the Second Division and below.
    - The FAI Cup has been adjusted slightly. Second Division and Provincial Senior league teams enter in the first round, First division teams enter in the second round and Premier division teams in the third round.
    - The FAI Cup winner plays the League of Ireland PD winner each January for the Presidents Medal.
    - Some changes made to the stadiums of lower-league Irish clubs, and minimum stadium requirements brought in to the League of Ireland.
    - A new All-Ireland Youth tournament has been created between the top NI and ROI youth teams each year, played January-March. Each team plays six matches in an initial group stage, with the top six teams progressing to the final knockout stage.
    - The Enda McGuill Academy Trophy is a new 64-team knockout tournament for youth teams from across the Republic of Ireland. Teams that make it to the Quarter finals automatically qualify to play in the following season's U19 National League.
    - A new 'Celtic Nations Cup' brings together amateur, semi-pro and reserve teams from the six Celtic nations in a pre-season tournament each year.
    - The existing and expansion capacity of several stadiums have been adjusted for realism.
    - The graphics pack includes logos for each of the new tournaments.
    - Custom/Fantasy 3D and Standard 2D kits have been created for all Irish clubs in Steps 2-5.
    - As the kits need to correspond with the database colours, I've included Irish Step 1 kits by wfm18 and priority76 in this pack.
    - Additional custom third kits have been added to some teams without enough variety in their default kits, such as Dundalk.

Let me know if you have any questions or comments!

There are 2 variants of this. The first keeps team and division reputations pretty much as today, and the second increases the reputation of the Irish leagues, improves the facilities of promoted clubs and adds minimum stadium requirements.

This will eventually form part of an updated 'Unity Cup' database with a Dublin-based Premier League side and widespread changes to the British Isles football system.

Please let me know if I've missed anything. Simmed up to 2030 without any obvious issues. Happy to make additional variants of this if there's demand.
