  1. Great choice! I wonder why all these folks are gathered here, not sure what they are waiting for if it isn’t a beverage
  2. A double-season update, seeing as I forgot snippets for the first season and was away for the long weekend! Szolnoki MÁV FC Season 2029/30 League | Cup | Transfers Despite pre-season predictions of finishing rock bottom with our young squad, we over-achieved which was amazing for the club, but also scary at the same time. I did not want to fall into the trap of an over-achieving club so quickly, as it would cost money to keep producing both talents through the academy, along with the cost of training and development to ensure solid performances week-in and week-out. Youth Intake 2030 A youth intake that I was quietly confident about as we began to see the emergence of players in positions that we desperately need - midfield and the defence. Jószef Varga will take the "favourite Jószef" spot in the team now, and slot nicely into CM to play that role. Dávid Kiss gives us further depth at the back, a position where the club has struggled to produce talent so far into the save. Season 2030/31 League | Cup | Squad | Transfers | Finances The good times just keep on rolling for the club, as we improve on our performances from last season to snatch a final European position on the last day of the season. A first for the club, and a massive step for the club going forward. Okay, it is only the UEFA Europa Conference League, and we enter the Second Qualifying Round, but we have European exposure which will only help the development of younger talents. Youth Intake 2031 More talent arriving in the academy for the midfield and defence; I am certainly not complaining about it! A mixed bag when it comes to mental ability, but I feel that we can get them onto the right path hopefully. We are certainly going to need as much help as we can get as we prepare for a European campaign. What a huge season for the club, and another mammoth season is incoming. BRING ON EUROPE!
  3. Szolnoki MÁV FC Season 2028/29 League | Cup | Squad | Transfers | Finances We bounce straight back up! After being tipped to be in a relegation battle in the second division, we recorded tremendous form in the first half of the season to give us a fighting chance of the title! However, a ropey second half of the season saw that chance slip away, leaving us to settle with promotion. A youthful team going back to the top flight, with key individuals moving on - it is going to be another world of pain. Youth Intake 2028 Going back to the top flight, it really isn't a good youth intake as a whole. Yet another goalkeeper comes through the ranks, but my main focus is on both Zoltán Takács & Krisztián Simon; the future for András Halmosi, Balázs Garancsi & József Vincze. Halmosi and Garancsi are both leaving the club after contract refusal; citing that they need a bigger club at this stage of their careers. They move onto Mezõkövesdi (Top flight runners-up) & Kisvárda (Top flight bottom half) respectively. Vincze runs out of contract in the summer of 2030 and has advised he will be exploring his options - I can only hope we perform well enough in top flight to convince him to stay. Our younger players continue to develop well at this stage, but we are going to be weak in defence with inexperience being the protectors of the goal next season.
  4. Szolnoki MÁV FC Season 2027/28 League | Cup | Squad | Transfers | Finances And the good times come crashing to an end. Despite a promising promotion push last season, we were fairly outclassed in our first ever season in the OTP Bank Liga. Relegation was confirmed with 8 games remaining, and we smash a lot of records for our poor performance. Time to go back to the drawing board and see what we can get working. Youth Intake 2028 A mixed youth intake, with start man Matty Munro standing out - he is deemed as good as Schimmer so it is a massive boost for the club! However, not many players in positions required - 3 strikers seem excessive! József Vincze (intake 2026) really has me excited about the future after his second season with the club; 10 goals and 4 assists in 32 league games is impressive for the 17-year-old! He will certainly be a staple in the team. 2024 intake player Donát Bodnár continued to hold down on his own position within the team, recording 20 appearances throughout the season. Perhaps not the best season for development, but as long as we keep him on side, he will be huge for the future.
  5. Szolnoki MÁV FC Season 2026/27 League | Cup | Squad | Transfers | Finances A consistent start to the season. A colossal drop off in form during the season. A consistent return following Christmas. A rollercoaster of an ending. But we done it. Szolnoki MÁV are going back to the top-flight after clinching promotion on the final day. 16 years since they were last in the division. A huge year for the club! Youth Intake 2027 A disappointing intake in my eyes, as the players on offer don't appear to be on the same level as past intakes. A lot of people would dream of 5 intakes, but a lot of work to be done. All in all, a poor intake as we only signed 7 from this (I forgot to update the Youth Tracker with the full in-take. As a result, only the 7 signed form updates this season.) The trio of Ádrian Schimmer, Balász Garancsi & András Halmosi were ever present this season, only coming off the bench 4 times amongst them through fitness concerns. Schimmer actually performed to a lower standard than last season, but now that he has broken into the team I would expect this to improve in time. Garancsi continued to be the presence in the middle of the park in his box-to-box role, but goal contributions were down. Finally, Halmosi. No goals this season from midfield, but matches his 7 assists from last season. All round performance was better as he records an average rating of 7.09. 2024 intake player Donát Bodnár broke through into the team this year, but his development was hampered with injuries throughout. 15 appearances throughout the season is impressive for the 18-year-old, and he is just getting better and better with each passing week. A great player to have around the club.
  6. A fantastic start to the campaign, and a fantastic acquisition in Ounahi! Really enjoyed the training post also, the attention to detail is beautiful!
  7. Szolnoki MÁV FC Season 2025/26 League | Cup | Squad | Transfers | Finances Yet another season of ups and downs, a poor run of form either side of Christmas saw us have a mountain to climb for a last minute promotion claim, but in the end we have to settle for an identical 5th placed finish compared to last year. Some tactical tweaks required over the summer to try and take us to the next level, but I think we are finally on the right path. Youth Intake 2026 An improved intake preview compared to 2025's, but not a great deal of talent standing out. Some exciting players are around the squad, and made their senior appearances before the season was out, but still a lot of work to be done. Ádrian Schimmer (Elite Talent from 2024) continued to appear the most this season after securing his position last season, and whilst his numbers have improved, he still has some work to do to match Lakatos. 2025 duo Balász Garancsi & András Halmosi both exceded expectations with the consistency of performances, and have secured their starting berth in my plans going forward. Sadly, Ádám Pintér is not hitting the levels expected, but is finding it tough to dislodge Lakatos.
  8. Massengo looks a quality acquisition at this stage, a push in the right direction and he could be a key figure at the club, and a key financial backer when the time comes to move him on. Ligue 1 will certainly challenge your side's mental ability, but the Ligue 2 success would suggest that you will be well equipped to handle the step-up in quality!
  9. Szolnoki MÁV FC Season 2024/25 League | Cup | Squad | Transfers | Finances A mixed bag of a season! After losing our star winger in Bálint Tömösvári, we were slow starters in the league and it really looked like we would live up to our pre-season billing of rock bottom. However, in October it finally all clicked together and Szolnoki MÁV recorded 4 defeats from October to May, which saw us shoot right up the table and into promotion contention. We fell just short of promotion this year, but another year to develop youngsters in the second division is welcoming. Youth Intake 2025 Originally dubbed a 3.5 star Good Intake, I was pleasantly surprised to see a couple of players appear on this listing. We had the potential of having a rock solid spine forming through our elite talents, which are the stars of the intake, but outwith them it is relatively poor. All candidates were signed in order to bulk out the youth squad, so that development is heightened for players not ready for the senior squad yet. Outwith the three elite talents, no one stands out as having a bright future for the club. There are players there that will aid in time with squad depth, but nothing more. Ádrian Schimmer (Elite Talent from 2024) appeared the most this season following the sale of Tömösvári, and still has some work to do to get his numbers up over a course of a season. Mihály Szileszki (Elite Talent from 2024) also made a handful of appearances due to first choice goal-keeper Kálmán Csáki deciding his future is elsewhere and will not renew his contract. Zsolt Bánhegyi also made appearances but injury halted his progress allowing Szileszki the opportunity to come in. 2024 star graduate Ádám Pintér struggled for game-time this year, but will certainly be given the benefit of the doubt and a chance to shine. We also received a welcoming youth facility upgrade throughout the year, starting our journey to have the best academy in all of Hungary!
  10. Szolnoki MÁV FC Season 2023/24 League | Cup | Squad | Transfers* | Finances *Balázs Németh transfer was a pre-contract organised prior to me taking over the job. A season of adapting to the league, and then filled with highs and lows throughout as we safely secured our place for next season. Predicted to finish 13th, it was never really in doubt, but it was good to leave a big enough gap between ourselves and the relegation play-offs. We were rocking it at the top of the league at the early stages of the season. Our cup run started and finished in the Third Round following a narrow 1-0 defeat to top-flight side Paksi. Our first youth-intake arrived giving me a chance to look, prep and plan for the future generations as to how I want this team to look and play on the park. Youth Intake 2024 My initial attraction to the intake was the wingers and central midfielder. We only really have one good winger at the club on the right through Bálint Tömösvári, so if we can get talent on the left to double up with him that would be a bonus. In the middle of the park, we have quality, but it is aging quality. Mario Alfredo Pinto was promoted from the U19s to assist with league rules as we must have an U20 in the starting 11, but he is some way off being a quality Hungarian midfielder. We could do with a bit more depth in defence; the current options should do for the next year or two meaning we have time to bring some through. Our goalkeeper situation is in the safe hands of Zsolt Bánhegyi, who is due to return to the club at the end of the season. Ádám Pintér is classed as the best of the class, with Mihály Szileszki, György Reznek and Adrián Schimmer not too far behind. All four have work to do, but with a push in the right direction, they may just become something useful for the club. Sadly no facilities upgrades for us this season, although the studying has started for me through coaching badges. Small progress, but the rewards will certainly be worth it.
  11. A marvellous read Beth. Really gripping as to the direction you want to take the club, whilst implementing a set recruitment strategy and a disciplined wage structure. Africa looks to be producing talent by the barrel-load this year with Abi’s stats really backing the need for a new contract. Diagne looks an absolute steal and will bankroll you in the future no doubt. Love it!
  12. LMA Manager 2005 on the PS2. I remember going up to my mate’s house after school to sit and play it for hours on end, constructing new stands for the stadium and unearthing talent like Kompany & Van Der Borre. Sometimes, it was the simple things in life like the stadium improvements that can hook you though!
  13. I figured it would be worthwhile to join in, better late than never! Commitment to something as long and stressful as England wasn't forming part of my plans to begin with. Denmark was debated, but with a long-term save on the go already, I figured it would be best to start light. So it is off to Hungary I go! Manager Profile Set up Squad Facilities Finances Vision Perhaps on the more easier side of the scale, I'm looking forward to unleashing Hungarian talent upon Europe and try to take over. Once we dominate Hungary of course... Balázs Németh was signed on a pre-contract prior to me taking over the job, so it was not a signing I could cancel - I assume that he is eligible to be used throughout the domestic campaign?
