  1. Szolnoki MÁV FC Season 2025/26 League | Cup | Squad | Transfers | Finances Yet another season of ups and downs, a poor run of form either side of Christmas saw us have a mountain to climb for a last minute promotion claim, but in the end we have to settle for an identical 5th placed finish compared to last year. Some tactical tweaks required over the summer to try and take us to the next level, but I think we are finally on the right path. Youth Intake 2026 An improved intake preview compared to 2025's, but not a great deal of talent standing out. Some exciting players are around the squad, and made their senior appearances before the season was out, but still a lot of work to be done. Ádrian Schimmer (Elite Talent from 2024) continued to appear the most this season after securing his position last season, and whilst his numbers have improved, he still has some work to do to match Lakatos. 2025 duo Balász Garancsi & András Halmosi both exceded expectations with the consistency of performances, and have secured their starting berth in my plans going forward. Sadly, Ádám Pintér is not hitting the levels expected, but is finding it tough to dislodge Lakatos.
  2. Massengo looks a quality acquisition at this stage, a push in the right direction and he could be a key figure at the club, and a key financial backer when the time comes to move him on. Ligue 1 will certainly challenge your side's mental ability, but the Ligue 2 success would suggest that you will be well equipped to handle the step-up in quality!
  3. Szolnoki MÁV FC Season 2024/25 League | Cup | Squad | Transfers | Finances A mixed bag of a season! After losing our star winger in Bálint Tömösvári, we were slow starters in the league and it really looked like we would live up to our pre-season billing of rock bottom. However, in October it finally all clicked together and Szolnoki MÁV recorded 4 defeats from October to May, which saw us shoot right up the table and into promotion contention. We fell just short of promotion this year, but another year to develop youngsters in the second division is welcoming. Youth Intake 2025 Originally dubbed a 3.5 star Good Intake, I was pleasantly surprised to see a couple of players appear on this listing. We had the potential of having a rock solid spine forming through our elite talents, which are the stars of the intake, but outwith them it is relatively poor. All candidates were signed in order to bulk out the youth squad, so that development is heightened for players not ready for the senior squad yet. Outwith the three elite talents, no one stands out as having a bright future for the club. There are players there that will aid in time with squad depth, but nothing more. Ádrian Schimmer (Elite Talent from 2024) appeared the most this season following the sale of Tömösvári, and still has some work to do to get his numbers up over a course of a season. Mihály Szileszki (Elite Talent from 2024) also made a handful of appearances due to first choice goal-keeper Kálmán Csáki deciding his future is elsewhere and will not renew his contract. Zsolt Bánhegyi also made appearances but injury halted his progress allowing Szileszki the opportunity to come in. 2024 star graduate Ádám Pintér struggled for game-time this year, but will certainly be given the benefit of the doubt and a chance to shine. We also received a welcoming youth facility upgrade throughout the year, starting our journey to have the best academy in all of Hungary!
  4. Szolnoki MÁV FC Season 2023/24 League | Cup | Squad | Transfers* | Finances *Balázs Németh transfer was a pre-contract organised prior to me taking over the job. A season of adapting to the league, and then filled with highs and lows throughout as we safely secured our place for next season. Predicted to finish 13th, it was never really in doubt, but it was good to leave a big enough gap between ourselves and the relegation play-offs. We were rocking it at the top of the league at the early stages of the season. Our cup run started and finished in the Third Round following a narrow 1-0 defeat to top-flight side Paksi. Our first youth-intake arrived giving me a chance to look, prep and plan for the future generations as to how I want this team to look and play on the park. Youth Intake 2024 My initial attraction to the intake was the wingers and central midfielder. We only really have one good winger at the club on the right through Bálint Tömösvári, so if we can get talent on the left to double up with him that would be a bonus. In the middle of the park, we have quality, but it is aging quality. Mario Alfredo Pinto was promoted from the U19s to assist with league rules as we must have an U20 in the starting 11, but he is some way off being a quality Hungarian midfielder. We could do with a bit more depth in defence; the current options should do for the next year or two meaning we have time to bring some through. Our goalkeeper situation is in the safe hands of Zsolt Bánhegyi, who is due to return to the club at the end of the season. Ádám Pintér is classed as the best of the class, with Mihály Szileszki, György Reznek and Adrián Schimmer not too far behind. All four have work to do, but with a push in the right direction, they may just become something useful for the club. Sadly no facilities upgrades for us this season, although the studying has started for me through coaching badges. Small progress, but the rewards will certainly be worth it.
  5. A marvellous read Beth. Really gripping as to the direction you want to take the club, whilst implementing a set recruitment strategy and a disciplined wage structure. Africa looks to be producing talent by the barrel-load this year with Abi’s stats really backing the need for a new contract. Diagne looks an absolute steal and will bankroll you in the future no doubt. Love it!
  6. LMA Manager 2005 on the PS2. I remember going up to my mate’s house after school to sit and play it for hours on end, constructing new stands for the stadium and unearthing talent like Kompany & Van Der Borre. Sometimes, it was the simple things in life like the stadium improvements that can hook you though!
  7. I figured it would be worthwhile to join in, better late than never! Commitment to something as long and stressful as England wasn't forming part of my plans to begin with. Denmark was debated, but with a long-term save on the go already, I figured it would be best to start light. So it is off to Hungary I go! Manager Profile Set up Squad Facilities Finances Vision Perhaps on the more easier side of the scale, I'm looking forward to unleashing Hungarian talent upon Europe and try to take over. Once we dominate Hungary of course... Balázs Németh was signed on a pre-contract prior to me taking over the job, so it was not a signing I could cancel - I assume that he is eligible to be used throughout the domestic campaign?
