  1. Decided to take a different approach to contracts going forward. Managed to reduce Luke Shaws wage down to 130k from 170k per week, focusing more on an expansive bonus package to bolster his wage when the team does well and also for individual performances. This is perfect to combat the massive wage culture at United and still offers those massive wages if the player really deserves it. I got this idea from what I've heard United are actually attempting to do in real life, it definitely makes a ton of sense.
  2. It can heavily depend on your wage structure within the club, the country you manage in (I believe to be true?) and can also depend heavily on the bonuses you offer, something which I'm actually exploring myself right now. Also... It is possible to ask your DOF to negotiate a contract which allows the AI to get involved. Not something i'd suggest if you were to look into offering more bonus heavy packages, but definitely worth doing if you'd prefer the AI to take a shot at it. Also... I would definitely suggest discussing the contract with the players agent prior to offering a contract and DON'T just agree to his initial demands. Start the conversation by saying you're interested (not very interested) in renewing the players contract. Then you want to be contesting his offer, I always go with "I think you're asking too much", 4 times out of 5 they will lower their demands, i guess it depends on the agent in question. You could try the other contest option also, but I've got no experience with that one.
  3. I actually holiday my games because I don't have time in the day to watch them, I just tell my assistant my preferred players. Was only 107 goals in the league, 28 conceded, I've definitely seen better, but then again my squad isn't the best either.
  4. I forgot to mention, as the transfers are weirdly added into last season, despite being from the same window for this season. Nicolas Jackson had a good first season with 29 goals in all competitions. Ugarte was a brilliant signing and a perfect partner to Casemiro in CDM. He managed 5 goals and 7 assists alongside his defensive duties as a Ball Winning Midfielder.
  5. Season 2023-2024 (Second Season) My second season brought massives changes in club personnel... Eric Bailly - OM - £8.5mil Dean Henderson - Real Hispalis - £13.5mil Fred - Zenit - £10.25mil Victor Lindelof - Juventus - £24mil Alex Telles - Celtic - £6mil Anthony Martial - Parthenope - £13.5mil Donny Van De Beek - Zenit - £9mil Shola Shoretire - Brentford - £6.75mil (£10.5mil) Alvaro Fernandez - Galatasaray - £14mil Hannibal - Fulham - £6mil Amad Diallo - FC Rb Salzburg - £20mil Zidane Iqbal - FC Porto - £12mil Anthony Elanga - Everton - £15mil Lisandro Martinez - Real Madrid - £44.5mil (£51mil) - JANUARY There were other less notable sales, but overall I managed to bring in just over £200mil in sales. The only person who I really wanted to sell, but couldn't was David De Gea. His contract is way too high and nobody wants him. Players in... Marco Carnesecchi - Atalanta - £16.75mil Milan Skriniar - Free Transfer Martin Baturina - Dinamo - £9mil Marcos Leonardo - SAN - £14.75mil - Loaned back to SAN Arsen Zakharyan - Dinamo Moscow - £19.5mil Arda Guler -Fenerbahce - £10.5mil - Loaned to Middlesbrough Purr Schuurs - Torino - £22mil In total we spent just £93mil. The idea behind some of my signings will be to make a profit later on, unless they manage to impress. This will be players like Leonardo, Zakharyan and Guler. Others are here as backup options on low wages, such as Carnesecchi, Baturina and Shuurs. Carnesecchi is currently the number 1 goalkeeper, however I've been working my magic on Anatolii Trubin before I even signed Carnesecchi and he will be joining us most likely for season 3 on a free transfer. One of the bigger stories in regards to working my magic, I've been unsettling Jurien Timber at Ajax. They've refused to sell him to me for £52mil, so I keep going back with the same offer. It's got to the point now where he's told Ajax when his contract runs out in 2025, he's leaving on a free transfer! He will be my replacement for Varane, I'll just have to wait another season before I get him. How did it go? Community Shield - Winners 4-0 - West Ham Carabao Cup - Knocked out 3rd Round (1-2) - Manchester City FA Cup - Knocked out Semi-Final (0-2) - Arsenal Champions League - CHAMPIONS!!! (4-0) - Parthenope Premier League - CHAMPIONS!!! We stuck it to West Ham this season, winning all 3 of our games against them, with an aggregate score of 11-1! Manchester City are as dominant as ever and we were always going to struggle away at the Etihad. Pipped to the FA Cup once again in the Semi's, this time losing to Arsenal. The Champions League was a surprise one for me, but when you face Parthenope in the final, 9 times out of 10 we were going to walk away with it! Now for the all important picture, our final results for the Premier League! Game of the season...
  6. Season 2022-2023 I decided with my first season that I wouldn't make any changes other than player sales from January onwards. Scott McTominay got the big offer and so he has made his way out of the club. Tom Heaton is off to Stoke so I can free up the unnecessary £65k wages. I have told several players it's time for them to leave for the new season, this list includes, but is not limited to... David De Gea Victor Lindelof Fred Anthony Martial I have just offered Diogo Dalot a new contract worth £89k because he had a respectable season and the fact he can play both sides is very helpful for squad rotation. You may be wondering, why aren't you selling Harry Maguire... Well in honesty, he absolutely smashed it this season with 15 goals! He made 20(14) appearances and hasn't complained about not starting enough games, so I see no reason to move him on. The question now is, who will be coming in for the ones I want to leave? I have no idea, other than Milan Skriniar on a free transfer to replace Victor Lindelof. Lisandro Martinez had a season to forget also, but I'll give him one more season. It looks like I might have Skriniar and Varane as my 1st selections. How did it go? Carabao Cup - Knocked out 4th Round - West Ham FA Cup - Knocked out Semi-Final - West Ham Europa League - Knocked out Semi Final - Arsenal Premier League - CHAMPIONS!!! West Ham United have been a thorn in our side this season it seems, they also beat us on the last game of the season, but luckily we had already secured the Premier League. West Ham went on to win the FA Cup. Arsenal stopped us from winning a cup that we should have won. They also went on to win the Europa League. Now for the all important picture, our final results for the Premier League!
  7. Will be interesting to see how you get on with Pedri and who wouldn't love to have Bellingham, hopefully he can go on to have a brilliant second season. Could you not ask your DOF or Assistant to negotiate Rashford's contract? If they are unable to, it still allows you to try.
  8. I'm going to try do something similar I think, I kind of like to keep things fresh. I think the only exception for me would be someone who comes through my youth system. Yeah it's fine margins when it comes to negotiating because if you go too far, they will just back out, but luckily Spurs are stupid
  9. Decided to start a Man Utd save after looking at some of the saves ongoing in this thread @molemenacer, I love your ideas in terms of wage structure. @wakesta, I noticed you signed a player I've already bid for (Evanilson). Unfortunately I don't really have time to play the game to it's fullest, so I'll just be holidaying the majority of matches, but I can still enjoy sitting on the sidelines and shaping up this squad for my assistants to do the damage with. So far, so good this season, we've hit January and are top of the league, 6 wins out of 6 in the Europa League, but unfortunately West Ham knocked us out of the Micky Mouse cup... By the way, I'm snatching Tottenhams hands off on that 1! He's been relatively okay for the half a season, 9 starts (13 subs), but here at United we aren't happy with just okay and that negotiated offer is just insane! Evanilsen is the only player we will potentially sign and he won't join until next season, decided to not have a summer transfer window to keep things realistic.
  10. Just to clarify, I'm not wanting to edit via the Editor or in-game editor, I'm wanting to edit via a file for a stadium.
  11. I didn't actually go down that route, I'm not a fan of using instalments unless I'm making a huge signing and I have no choice.
  12. I managed to have a great season, finished 8th in the end. I wasn't using my own training schedules prior to that season as I didn't see much point in the lower leagues, but I decided to take control of training and my players grew massively throughout the season. My young striker I bought in the Championship banged in 54 goals over the season which helped a lot. I've left the club now though, got offered 4 International jobs, so I've gone with Holland
  13. Thanks for the information @Cloud9, I'm in 2035, so I've had to scout around. I've picked off some players from Cardiff and Coventry who got relegated, found some on the transfer list for less than £1mil, brought in 4 loans and the rest I packed out with Free Transfers. I'm 2 games into the season, drew with Man Utd 1-1 and beat Brentford 9-0, couldn't have asked for a better start! @Johnny Ace I'll have a read of that thread
  14. I'm on a bit of a journeyman save right now and I stumbled across the Sheffield Wednesday job in League One, I quickly got them promoted that season, hit mid-table in the Championship season after and then in the 3rd season accidently got promoted after a 2nd place finish in the 3rd season. They've given me a £40mil budget and £470k wage budget to play with... I'm a little skeptical that i can even form a full team with that haha. Has anyone else been expected to survive the best league in the world on a minimal budget, or even achieved it?
  15. Well, I was more showing the amount of goals scored by Haaland than anything else. In truth, it breaks the game when playing at Home, its just a bit skittish in away games against top class teams. Also, I did holiday the whole thing so imagine what a human player could do reacting in real time. You could literally use it the stat pack your players and then in games where the opposition are good, revert back to the original knap tactic.
  16. I think I just broke one of Knaps tactics... I literally moved a defender into the attack just to see what would happen!
  17. I use him as a Ball Winning Midfielder (Support) in the DM position. It all depends on your tactic really as a whole, if the rest of the team doesn't player well or work well together, then Bruno will struggle also.
  18. Quick update on the season so far... The Man City game has to be a defining moment in our season so far for sure, we had some tough results in October, but we did brilliantly to start November with a massive win. We didn't just beat them, we actually played better than them and kept the Premier Leagues top goalscorer quiet for the entire game (Erling Haaland).
  19. I even corrected you in a polite way and you didn't notice
  20. Had a really great start to the season, I was a little disappointed with the Wolves game, but despite 10 extra shots, we didn't deserve a win, although a draw was definitely deserved. The highlight for me so far was the Burnley game and for a very good reason. My team selection was really poor, I didn't factor in that we were playing away and within 24 minutes Burnley were 2-0 up. I made 2 substitutions in the 28th minute and moved some players around in the formation... It worked an absolute treat! By the way, what happened to Chelsea??????
  21. Yeah I noticed he was interested, but I didn't feel like a striker was needed as such in the first season, the front line is pretty decent as it is.
  22. I suppose I'll have to set myself targets as I progress. Victor Osimhen would be a dream alongside Isak! He's scored 9 goals in 4 games. By the way has anyone tried Gordon as a striker? He scored 13 goals in pre-season, albeit against weak opposition and has literally just saved our skin in the Carabao Cup with 1 goals and 2 assists.
  23. Alexander Isak kicks off the season with 5 goals in 2 games All the players seem to be enjoying the training sessions as well, got the full season of training sessions set up!!
