I don't watch that many of her interviews because the most taxing question tends to be who has the worst taste in music in the dressing room but that is no different to the seemingly endless carousel of 20s and 30s women who do Football Focus-type interviews. Print journalists might ask something a bit more taxing, I don't think I could name a single media figure who isn't a former footballer who is prepared to ask anything remotely challenging, especially on BBC/ITV.

For the huge games last time they have Pougatch as the main anchor and Woods next to the pitch. The true test of whether it's considered a big game is if she wears a dress rather than a trouser suit.

That's mostly just because she is the England Camp person which is the worst for this, because you cant risk annoying anyone as you need the access. But I do wonder if the journalists doing it think they have to work hard to get to this position which is fairly high in the TV world as a non-former footballer yet despair at having to leave any journalistic principles at the door of the camp.

Dunno if Austria will keep this up for 90 minutes, it's very intense. They are also pretty ropey when the ball is in promising areas, the epitome of lacking that bit of quality in the final third.

Because the casuals want England I'm guessing. The BBC is often quite bad for this too, I much prefer the style of 5 Live during tournaments where they focus on the teams involved and get knowledgeable people on.

I didn't think the performance was too bad until I listened to a respected Irish podcast where the vibe was "how does Southgate make these players play so badly?"
