  2. Hello! In order to retain competitiveness, clubs will start where they belong, this will be determined by a combination of reputation and team strength also taking into account media prediction once all the teams are ready. I will be focusing on creating a vibrant and dynamic footballing universe that reflects the rich history and legendary players of the sport. This means that certain clubs may experience changes in status based on their historical significance, achievements, and the presence of iconic players in their ranks. So while I shall be manually relegating or promoting a few clubs, here and there, you can expect to see a diverse and exciting mix of teams reflecting the storied legacy of football.
  3. Thank you for your enthusiasm! I'm currently finalizing some details to ensure the best possible experience for players like you. 6. Thank you so much for the kind words! It's wonderful to hear that you enjoyed the database back in 2014, and I'm thrilled to announce its release once again. Your support means a lot, and I hope this new version brings back all the nostalgia and excitement of the original. And to celebrate its 10th Anniversary, it will be released once again.
  7. Hi @MelvinMat This Legends database is the original legends database, work began in 2010 and was first released in 2014, so it's not the successor, it is the predecessor. The return of the legends database is a completely different database and since then you have the great work of the mad scientist and all the other legends creators that have followed since. But this one was the first. So all the others are successors to this Basically every legend or icon since 1880 to 2024 is here.
  8. That's a fantastic idea! Incorporating throwback versions of the Champions League and European Cups would add an extra layer of authenticity and nostalgia to the ultimate legends database. It would give players the opportunity to relive iconic moments from football history and perhaps rewrite some of those legendary matches with their favourite teams and players. If you're interested in integrating these throwback versions into the database, you are more than welcome to do so and this database would be compatible with those type of mods.. It's all about creating the ultimate footballing experience, and I'm excited to explore this possibility further with you! This is a concept I have explored before, and it offers the potential for multiple downloadable options. One option would be the Ultimate Legends database in its standard form, including the usual competitions without any additional modifications. Alternatively, players could opt for the Ultimate Legends database enhanced with throwback versions of the European Cup, providing a nostalgic twist to the gameplay experience. Another possibility could involve combining the Ultimate Legends database with a customized world super league, allowing users to immerse themselves in a dynamic and personalized footballing universe.
  9. You're very welcome! I'm thrilled to hear that you're diving into the world of throwback and legends databases. It's an exciting journey through football history, and I'm glad to have you along for the ride. If you have any more questions or if there's anything else you'd like to know about the database, feel free to ask. Enjoy the game, and may your footballing adventures be legendary!
  10. Hi @JorgenThank you for the Welcome! Each legend and star featured in the game is already integrated within the database. Their age range typically spans from 15 to 25 years, reflecting the pivotal developmental years of their careers. Primarily, these iconic figures commence their virtual journey at the club where they initially made significant appearances, aligning with the age they were when they first debuted for that particular team. However, exceptions may arise, particularly for much older legends and stars, who are introduced into the game at their peak performance ages, generally between 23 to 26 years. Regardless of their age, players are assuredly situated at the club they represented during the corresponding stage of their careers.
  11. That depends on what you mean by 'Retired Person'. If the player has retired from playing but is now a non-player still in the game as some kind of staff, then yes, those ones can be returned to player. If they are are fully retired, as the case may well be or just not in the database at all, then yes it's a case of creating a new one. Either way we try as much as possible to preserve the existing player/non player and only create a new one if there is no other choice.

The player will be at the club that they were at when they were the age that they start in the game. Only Legends and Stars will be created in this database, not players who had potential but never delivered on it. LEGENDS ICONS STARS Think Football Manager meets FIFA Ultimate Team! A LEGEND, ICON OR STAR is a player who mainly played at international level and / or won significant honours and / or played in the top divisions throughout career and a substantial amount of games. If they played for the same top club for long periods, then that would also be seen as a significant advantage whereas any significant periods in a lower division would diminish legendary and star status. Common Sense is used amid the plethora of research undertaken to ensure accurate ratings and using only historical evidence and data to determine the most accurate results in the modern football arena. These Legends and Stars will not start lower than the top 2 divisions in the nations they are starting in These Legends and Stars will not start at a club unless they played on at least 30 occasions for that club The earlier the players were born, the older they will be at the start of the game. Players ages range from 14 to 34, to give you a rough idea, a player born in 1800-1810 will start at 34 years old, whereas a player born in 2001 to 2010 will be 14 years old. There may be exceptions due to a player having to start slightly older either because they did not play at least 30 times for that club or that club does not exist anymore or that club is now playing in a division that is not in the top 2 divisions of the nation they are playing in. Players who start at a younger age will need to develop in order reach their potential, whereas the older a player is, the nearer to their peak potential they will be, and certain players will play having reached their peak and then players who start at an older age, the older the player is, they will have started to lose some of their ability, as in heading past their peak and starting to decline as a footballer. The better the player is potentially, the more likely that they will still start the game at a high current ability despite their advancement in years. If there are any legends or stars you would like to see in this database then please let me know and the relevant research will be carried out and I will do my best to get them included for you if they have not been previously researched and included already. Great Questions! "Do you maintain the original FM24 database with current players, clubs, and history, and simply add legendary players to play alongside modern ones?" Yes, I maintain the integrity of the original FM24 database, including current players, clubs, and their established history. My approach is to preserve existing data as it is, without altering the history of players or clubs that has not been touched. When it comes to adding legendary figures such as players, coaches, managers, chairmen, and directors who were not originally included in the FM24 database, I do so without modifying any existing profiles. I would simply edit the existing profile and not have to recreate a completely new one. If these figures are already present but retired in the database, I recreate their profiles from scratch and remove any outdated retired profiles to ensure accuracy. This way, the database retains its original structure and history while being enriched with legendary figures to enhance the gaming experience. "Or do you recreate the legends and reset the game to a historical period?" The database spans from 1844 to 2024, encompassing the entire history of football. I do not reset the game to any specific historical period. Instead, the database includes every legend and star from this extensive timeframe, provided they meet the following criteria: They qualify as 'A Legend or a Star.' They have been thoroughly researched using sources such as FIFA, PES, UEFA, FM, media, fan forums, and online community websites to ensure accurate reproduction of their playing or managing attributes. They have undergone rigorous in-game testing to confirm that their performance aligns closely with their historical reality. Only after ensuring these criteria are met will a player or manager be integrated into the database. Thus, players from any year, including those from 2024, are included, and the database reflects the full spectrum of football history without resetting to any particular period. "For players currently active in 2023, will their ages be reduced, or will they retain their 2023 age? If so, how would you handle legendary players and stars like Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Erling Haaland, and Kylian Mbappe? Would their ages be decreased in comparison to current active players?" To ensure the database remains historically accurate while including current players, we follow a specific approach: Age Based on Historical Accuracy: Player Ages range from 14-34 and Players will start at an age appropriate to the year they were born. For example, if a player was born between 1800 and 1810, they would start the game at 34 years old, adjusting accordingly for their birth decade. This means that players like Cristiano Ronaldo, born on February 5, 1985, would start at an age reflective of his early years in professional football. Club and Age Considerations: Players are included in the database at the age they were when they first joined a club where they played at least 30 professional games. This means Cristiano Ronaldo would start the game at 18 years old, reflecting his debut with Manchester United in 2003. (I guarantee that if a player is at a club, they are at the club at the exact age that they joined that club) Top Leagues Requirement: Legends and stars are placed in the top two leagues of their respective countries to ensure they are easily locatable and accurately represented, avoiding the need to search through lower leagues. Therefore they may have to be 'older' if e.g. they only joined a club in the top 2 divisions of their respective league and played at least 30 professional games at that age. Therefore, while the ages of current active players might appear decreased in comparison to older players, this approach ensures that the historical accuracy of their careers is maintained. "Lastly, when recreating legendary players from 'Retired' or 'Non-Player' status, would their awards and career history be erased? For example, if you recreate Ronaldo at age 20, would his Ballon d'Or achievements still be intact or reset?" Please note that if a player is 'officially retired' in the database they would be deleted and recreated from scratch. If they are a Non Player, then we simply edit the existing profiles. When recreating legendary players who are either officially retired or editing currently non-active players / managers in the database, their awards and career history would indeed be reset. If a player like Cristiano Ronaldo is recreated at an earlier stage in his career, such as at age 20, his achievements, such as Ballon d'Or awards, would not carry over. One thing that would carry over is their 'preferred player moves' The reason for this reset is to ensure historical accuracy. At age 20, Ronaldo had not yet earned those accolades, so it would be inaccurate to include them in his profile. By resetting his achievements to match his career stage, we maintain the integrity and realism of the database. Age Adjustment for Active Stars: If players like Kylian Mbappé and Erling Haaland qualify as legends or stars, they will follow my specific approach of age reduction. Every legend or star, regardless of whether they are currently active, will be treated equally in terms of starting at the appropriate age based on when they reached key milestones in their careers. For active players who do not meet the 'legend' or 'star' criteria, they will remain untouched and retain their current ages in the database. Risks with Recreating 'Retired Person' Profiles: When a player is marked as retired in FM, their original profile becomes unusable, as their ID is reset to 0. Once FM retires a player, the only options are to either keep their retired profile or delete it and recreate them from scratch. If SI (Sports Interactive) removes a player entirely from the database, then full recreation from scratch is necessary. This process poses a risk when minor database updates occur, as changes could affect previously recreated profiles. However, FM typically doesn't release any more database updates after the March Winter Update. To minimize risk, I begin reproduction after this major update, ensuring that no further changes will impact the work. Over time, fewer players need recreation as more legends and stars are retired or removed, and once a player is recreated from scratch, any future adjustments are minimal. Facepack for Legends: Along with the release of the database update, I will also be providing a comprehensive facepack that includes all the legends, stars, managers, and even non-managers. This ensures that users will not need to rely on other sources for facepacks, especially since many existing ones feature older versions of the legends. Yes, my data file will be compatible with most other types of updates, such as league updates, real name fixes, or skin mods. However, there will be compatibility issues with data update files that move legends into managerial or staff roles or track their status changes. For example, in the case of Ruud van Nistelrooy, if another mod updates him to a coach or manager while my database changes him back into a player, this will indeed cause conflicts. My file would revert Ruud to his younger self as a player, while the other update might keep him as a non-player, potentially leading to duplicates or mismatches. The best approach is to avoid using my mod with any update that tracks such changes, particularly those affecting transfers or staff/player status. Fortunately, by the time my database is released, most official transfer updates will already be done, so there’s less risk of overlap. After all, why choose Ruud as a coach when you could have him as a 17-year-old youth prospect at FC Den Bosch? In short, it’s important to pick the mods that suit your preference and ensure they don't overlap with player status changes. Any QUESTIONS? Don't be Shy! *** COMING SOON ***
  13. Thanks Michael. I understand that, however then I can only conclude that not all of the issues were fixed in the latest update because a lot of silly goals still being conceded. I would have thought the hot fix would have cleaned up all the issues. Therefore are we saying there will be another update soon? This FM feels different to other FMs esp. the match engine, were there significant changes made to the Match Engine for FM24?
  14. An amazing own goal from Bayern defender who turns around and shoots past his own keeper. Given that we just had a long awaited Hot Fix, I would have expected an issue like this to be included in that hot fix I have been carrying on my save, because it is supposed to be Saved Game Compatible? But now I am not so sure the update is Saved Game Compatible so my question is Is it Saved Game Compatible and this is a new issue or do I actually need to start a new save to benefit from this extensive Hot Fix just released? Your response is greatly appreciated. PKM & Video of Goal uploaded. Can confirm 100% that I am using the new hot fix update only just released.
  15. Harvey Elliott tries to pass to Enzo, The Spurs player miles from his own goal and under no pressure turns around towards his own goal and then whacks an almighty lob into the back of his own net from the half way lane, He is obviously attempting an ambitious back pass to his own keeper, but the keeper just watches, does not attempt to save, walks into his own net with the ball. Unbelievable Own Goal!
  16. The Goalkeeper takes the ball, stands up, and just throws the ball into his own net.
  17. The update is released between the end of February and early March so everything is still within the time frames communicated. The speculation is endless but the fact is that everything is going according to the schedule. When things don't happen right away, remember, it takes 6 months to build a Rolls Royce and 13 hours for a Toyota.
  18. The update will be set live as soon as it's ready to go and only when it is ready. I am positive that work is ongoing and the patience of the community is greatly appreciated
  19. Precisely, The update will be set live as soon as it's ready to go. Work on the update is ongoing and the patience of everyone in the community is greatly appreciated. Usually the update is released between late February and early March but only once it is ready to be released.
  20. I remember that too, I just don't think FM is that kind of game, it needs it's player base, it's the kind of game that just never ends, it constantly needs developing day after day, from month to month and from year to year. It is so in-depth that they employ helpers from all around the world to research and help out and the expectation that it can just come out and be perfect and not need updating just isn't realistic in this particular case. It's a great idea and wouldn't it be amazing! but some games are just not built that way.
  21. Isn't it still in a better state than anything else on the market though if there is no competition? How often would you say they need to update the game for it to be to your satisfaction? They update the game but they just don't release all the updates at once. they bundle the updates up and then release an update with a lot more fixes some of which are not included in the list of updates they publish when the update patches are released. Rather than constantly update with lots of smaller updates as they go along. They also go through an ALPHA Stage before the BETA, The Alpha stage is given to professional footballs and other 'selected' players to test the game and then they can release further updates before the BETA, every single game has a BETA Stage but the problem is that some of the updates and fixes can only be found once the full beta game is released so they have to do it that way to find these bugs, then they rely on the community to play the game and find the bugs etc and report them on this forum so that they can work on fixes BEFORE the Full Game is released and then they are constantly relying on the community to find any further bugs that remain and release updates periodically throughout the year culminating in the final winter update so in fact the development never stops and when the final update is released, development starts immediately on the next years game. A lot of features are only found once you play the game. I agree. Some features are good and some features are not so good but it's a matter of opinion, some features you may like and some i may like but we might disagree on that. The fact is that they are always creating new features based on the communities input plus input from within and around the game and professionals and staff from the world of football and where a feature may be need improving, that is something they can work on and improve on in future editions, so damn right it is up to this community to help and guide them too, are they perfect? no one is perfect but I am absolutely confident that a lot goes on behind the scenes and SI and Miles do everything they can to make the game the best possible version it can be whilst keeping in line with the limitations (with the coding e.g.) and what works and their own unique vision for the way they want to develop their game. But the community does have an open say and so the question is also what would you do differently because they would love to hear your suggestions and the suggestions of everyone in the community.
