I’ve created a nation and got it working so we can play in the Euros, World Cup, etc, and our clubs play in European competitions. The problem I have is that the greyed out players and many of the regens and the players added at the start as staff members, have the old nationality’s type of names. I removed them all from the database and added all my own names, so surely it shouldn’t do that. Are there certain names that are hardcoded into the database or something? And if so how can I remove them?

When I looked in my Sports Interactive - FM23 - tactics folder not in the game, they were there. But when I loaded the game, they weren't there. That was the problem. However, I am somehow sorted it now. Thanks to everyone for their help.

Yep, I have done that and they just aren't there. Surely someone else must have come across this before and knows what to do?

Cheers mate. But there's nothing there either. The one I downloaded from sortitoutsi.com is in my tactics folder when I go through C:/, as I put it there myself, though the ones I downloaded from Steam I can't find anywhere. But again, when I load the game up, none of them are in the tactics when I try to load one. I've even checked all the different folders within the actual save game when you load a tactic up, including the Cloud just to see if they have been put elsewhere, but nope. Anyone else any ideas please?

Hi. I have managed to subscribe on Steam to loads of different databases, and once I had loaded the game up, these databases would then appear for a new save, and would then appear in the editor for me to play around with myself. However, I have downloaded some tactics, just to play around with by subscribing on Steam. Even though I have restarted FM several times, even turned the laptop off and on, unsubscribed then resubscribed, nothing has worked. I've then gone on sortitoutsi.com, downloaded a tactic from there and physically put the downloaded tactic in my tactics folder. Regardless, when I load the game up and try to load a tactic, the only tactics that are there are the ones I have created and saved myself. Can anyone possibly help me with what is going wrong please, why they aren't appearing?

I'm fairly sure it just adds that surname to that specific nation rather than that specific city/town. In fact, I'm almost certain of that.

One thing I have worked out, is I need a SSD rather than a HD, yeah? So I'm looking at laptops with a SSD first and foremost.

Hi I read the opening post several times but I still don't fully understand it. I'm not a total novice with computers but I'm far from a pro either. Can somebody who is answer me some questions please. So, I am getting a new laptop for Christmas. We will be spending between £400 and £650. Cheaper the better obviously. But £650 absolute maximum. I don't mind a refurbed one from a website who offers a year or two guarantee. But again, I'd obviously prefer new. My current laptop was not good enough to play FM22 at a sufficient speed and made it such a drag that I ended up going back to FM12! The current spec of this laptop is: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3230M CPU @ 2.60GHz 2.60 GHz 8.00 GB Windows 10 Pro I don't know how to find out how much storage space there is, but the Local Storage (C) says 111 GB if that's what it means? (Like I said, I am no expert). I use my laptop mainly for FM, but also browsing the net, placing bets, watching football and YouTube, etc. NO other gaming, at all. Basically, I'd like to upgrade everything on the laptop, if possible, but if not, I want to upgrade whichever parts make FM run faster - and I'm still not completely sure what that is. The Operating System and cores are and always have been, a complete mystery to me. I get the higher the RAM the better, and I get the higher the memory and storage the better. Sorry for the long post, but can someone tell me in what order of importance they are to run FM faster? I just want a laptop that will make the game go as fast as possible. Thanks for reading.

I changed the minimum age to 14 though, as surely those extra two years of development will be beneficial. And having the players playing in proper leagues against men rather than kids their own age in youth leagues will see them progress quicker. Anyway, I will be having a crack at sorting something out in FM23.

I could share it mate, but it didn't work as I'd hoped. It would need more editing and testing, and this was for FM22, not FM23, so I will leave it there for now. I will create one for FM23 and see if I can get it to work better. The problem is, it's difficult to get the game to force teams to only play players of a certain age in their teams, if there is no rule as such in that specific league. Also, I found that an under 18 team and an under 16, etc, were poorly managed, and it was difficult to get the game to properly recognise more than two B, C, reserve and youth teams per club.

Thanks lads. I've managed to do U15, U16, U17 and U18 teams (as well as the usual U23 and U19 teams) and added them to a league. Done them as B and C teams, and as "Regional Academy" I think it is. Then added them as affiliates to each club and changed them to players move freely, same owners, same kit, permanent deal, etc. I'm playing in San Marino so I have just create extra leagues and added them to those. Just gives me a much wider selection of players to choose from.

Also, I can only seem to create three youth teams. Does anyone know of a way I can create more for each team?

It's possible on the game to create 14 and 15 year old players. But the youngest youth league you can create is U17. Does anyone know of any kind of workaround where I can create U16 or U15 leagues? I want to have youth teams going all the way up from U14 to U21 if possible.
