  1. That gives me something to do this week. I added the histories for league MVP and coach (which was painstaking, given the editor has a weird glitch that tends to reject changes to award history lines at weird times). I also added the missing years of the top scorer award (top 3 players), and they show as successful changes, but they don't appear in the game for some reason. Let me know what else is missing and I can get to it. It's the additional details like that, along with rivalries, favoured personnel, media etc that really make the difference with immersion.
  2. Did you spot the Gibraltar and Andorran clubs creeping in there? I wonder if its running out of teams so just pulling out a low-rep team from the bottom of Europe? If you're using "ignore teams" for higher divisions maybe that's the issue, can adjust min/max teams in the early rounds
  3. All I can think of is creating some sort of additional nationality (pan-Arab? GCC?) and assigning it as a second nationality to all Qataris, and putting the Qatari cities in a "region" that's in the new nation so that regens have it too. Ideally it could function like a Basque aesthetic second nation. Then this new nation would also be treated as non-EU, so that functionally the Qataris would be fine. However it's a LOT of work for such a simple workaround and not ideal
  4. alternate option is to do every round as its own stage. That seems to be firmer with scheduling for some reason. But doing every round in the same stage like you've done is more visually pleasing with the "tree view" in-game
  5. I know I'm way too late on this, but surely that wouldn't do anything? You've already set 5 foreign players, now you're just limiting it with a more specific rule? Surely you'd make all the Arab countries "EU" to Qatar and allow max non-EU players at 4. So you can have 5 foreigners, but only 4 can be "non-EU" (non-Arab). Don't worry about Spaniards/Italians, they're not counted. But anyway, this leads to the same issue you've observed, where Qatar is considered non-EU even if they're specifically set with the other Arab countries. Yeah it's weird. I don't know why it's happening
  6. DB updated with some fleshed out some rivalries, award history, attendance (hilariously low), stuff like that. Also added the ongoing WAFF U-23 Cup to the international file (w/ new logos). Get to know the different World Cup stadia - just like in the real QSL this season, some of your first few home games will be played at the WC venues to help warm them up. The Arab as non-EU thing is still doing my head in, if anyone can get their head around it feel free to spitball ideas (see previous post)
  7. Yeah, so that they could poach their youngsters and they'd still qualify as homegrown. I mean, the whole point is to strengthen Scottish fitba in the long run
  8. There might be a stage flag somewhere (under "add league history" maybe?) to bring in apps/goals from another competition as part of a team and player's league history. I also wonder if there's a way to force the history to be written to the first team, that might be impossible though. I wonder if the "other league stage flag" of "only give league fates out when the stage is finished" might help with the sacking issue, that's just speculation mind you. Anyway sorry to digress so much, I guess if you're creating nation rules you could try and take the participants out of their domestic cups that year as well (same "ignore teams" method with flexible amounts of cup teams). Free up a few days
  9. That would be brilliant, I know the information must be out there, just haven't seen anything concrete in years. But it must have been mentioned offhand in searchable news articles in Arabic a bunch. It's not gamebreaking, like I said the clubs are rich enough to offset any losses, it's just nice to include any details we come across. EDIT: been playing with the "nations treated as EU" setting to try and replicate the extra Arab player rule, and it actually works for Algerians, Tunisians etc with the roster rule for "non-EU players in squad." The only problem is, it also decides Qataris are non-EU at that point, even if Qatar is included in the Agreement and also set as a "nation treated as EU" for itself. Gah? Watch this space, I'll figure something out...
  10. Yeah that section might be more for citizenship requirements. I like your suggestion, ideally we could do the same for Scottish regens but that would require putting Scottish cities in an English region or something similar (this is where somehow manipulating the wider British or UK nationality might come in handy)
  11. Oh great, thanks, I thought that tab was greyed out when you were mass editing people. The only minor issue arises for the people who will already have some time spent in in England under their belts, really we should be going through and adding the Scottish totals to the English totals. Or maybe it will add the English totals together if there are two entries edit: and don't forget under "person data" there's "days in club and nation," does the game ignore that and just read the "player data" for CL registration? Or one overrides the other?
  12. Yes! I noticed that, obviously both are fine for the first season with all their English-trained players but it's not ideal. You mean just go through and manually add "trained in nation" and the "between 15 and 21" entry for everyone at the top Scottish clubs? Maybe everyone over a certain CA/PA? Just not sure you can mass edit like that. I had to do every previously Northern Irish player individually for my united Ireland database in FM22, quite time-intensive though
  13. Yeah, that's the plan. See how it works, I thought I had it consistently but noticed one or two of the later teams creeping in, I'm sure I had a value entered wrong somewhere.
  14. Pretty sure the CL spot will drop down one spot in the league, given that Celtic's "continental cup nation" is set to England. Celtic B in the Champions League would be funny though.
  15. Under "teams", you can enter the lower division teams (earlier entrants) first. Under Stage/General check the box for "reverse teams?". Further down check "team list changes" and make an entry with the range for the entire number of teams (1 is 0, so if it's 20 teams, "start index" is 0 and "end index" is 19). Check the box for "reverse teams". That's probably unnecessarily convoluted but I found if it in the default rules somewhere and have been using it since after driving myself mad
  16. MLS goes retro! This db renames MLS competitions and many of the teams, with kits and colours copied over from their old NASL counterparts. I love these old trademarks and wish MLS had leaned into them more heavily! Step 1) DOWNLOAD / backup Step 2) GRAPHICS Step 3) Go to preferences/overview/change game language to "English (US)" for full effect Step 4) Upvote here and rate on Steam if you're enjoying the database There's no functional change to gameplay, so no advanced rules or additions. Purely aesthetic changes for now - I'd love to edit the US nation rules to include 4-team divisions, but there's so much hard-coded MLS/CONCACAF stuff that it seems like a bad idea. If you do want to play with old NASL rules and the 70s-era Cosmos, check out the NASL 1978 40th Anniversary database for FM19. Screenshots:
  17. Having a weird issue lately where league fixtures are bunching up in the first few months, weekend-midweek-weekend, even though there are "preferred" matchdays available later in the season. Even if I specify a "date" for every fixture, it's been respecting some of them, but not all. I've used high fixture priority and "check for clashes" with "none". Group games are fine, just league is off, I'd rather not add a hidden group stage holding all the league fixtures just for the sake of it though. Can't think of what I'm missing but I know it worked on previous versions. Is there a box somewhere or stage flag I'm blanking on? EDIT: after some painstaking work, I've mostly got it to do what I want with dates and break periods. Ultimately I'd love an option in "offset dates", like, "only use if team has a continental competition game within 3 days" or something
  18. They could even get 6 Old Firm games. Play each other only twice before the split, and then play the other 5 teams in your half of the table twice more (up to 32 games). Then one further split into three groups overall, and play your three groupmates twice again to get to 38. Middle group would have to take two teams from the bottom of the previous upper group, and two teams from the top of the lower one. Maybe would have to halve/reset points here
  19. Keep us posted. I tend to favour using extinct competitions where possible to work across databases like that, although it has its own issues. It looks like you might be able to add multiple nation rules in the same file now though? Haven't tested it out
  20. Updated with the reduction to 10 teams over the next couple of seasons, thanks for pointing me to the correct setting @nasaiain. In my tests, finances didn't seem to be an issue as the clubs are willing to offset any losses. Nice to have the Qatari squad getting game time ahead of the big one later this month.
  21. There's a real lack of "short stage names" filled out in the default stage names, meaning your fixture list looks incredibly cluttered. "UEFA Champions League League Path First Qualifying Round First Leg", anyone?). This file adds a bunch of short stage names (like "First Qual. Round") to correct that, based on conventions seen elsewhere in the game ("Ch'ship" for "Championship", etc). Also updates some nation names based on their FIFA name/3-letter country code, and by popular convention. A couple of other minor fixes of obvious mistakes (nothing added that will clash with other DBs). The competition names file cleans up some sponsors (just "Ligue 1", sorry Uber Eats) and changes others to their official name (the Euro, the Premier League, etc). 22. "You used tae hear a lot more about the Old Firm moving tae the English Premier League," the old man said, ruefully sipping his Irn-Bru. Suddenly, his battered Nokia flip phone buzzed. A text from his auld mate jockstrap. Due to various backroom deals involving dodgy Sheikhs, brown envelopes, and whisky, the plan for the Glaswegian giants to play in the Premier League has been revived. Their reserve teams will take their place in the Scottish Premiership. For two of the three teams who were scheduled for promotion from the English Championship (and down the tiers), they'll have to wait at least another year. Sorry lads, I dinnae ken what tae tell ye. The game has defaulted to the Old Firm playing in the English League and FA Cups now. This is much cleaner for continental qualifying and scheduling, although we do need the Scottish advanced rules to keep them out of the Scottish League Cup (at least in the first season). As much as I wanted to dump both into the Championship (or even level 6) to prove themselves, potential CL group stages in the first season mean that'd be a LOT of fixture congestion. 23. Re: forcing the U23s, I suppose you could just add basic nation rules for each country. For example with Morocco, in the Botola rules where it says "teams", it should currently say "get all teams from division". Enter a new line BEFORE that line, with "get best teams in competition", with "team type" set to first team, with competition set to the Super League, max number of teams 24. Make sure the box at the top of this detail panel is checked for "ignore teams". Then on the second line, which is the existing "get all teams from division", just add "backup team type" as "reserve team" or whatever. As long as the domestic leagues are set up AFTER the Super League has been drawn, obviously, and everyone has a reserve team added (at the top of the reserves panel under the club ID), I *believe* this should work. edit: if the Super League hasn't been drawn for some domestic leagues but the African CL is already down to the final 4 or however many teams qualify for the Super League, you could instead use "ignore teams" with "best teams in comp" and max teams 4 for the African CL. That would just be telling it to ignore anyone left in the African CL and to then use the reserve team as a backup.
  24. Thanks, I'm playing around with it now. There's also the second division cup, I'll figure something out. You've got pro/rel correct, at least based on what's announced - everything else is unclear, other than the 10-team league will have 27 games in 3 separate fixture blocks (gotta imagine some neutral venues/mini-tournaments). There may also be certain promotion criteria like professionalism and stadium condition. Anyway, I realized the "non-Turkic" players rule hasn't been used in Turkey for years, so tested changing the "Turkic" agreement to contain the 22 Arab nations and adding the rule to the Stars League. Doesn't work though, the "non-Turkic" rule seems hardcoded and doesn't correspond to the "Turkic" agreement
  25. Brilliant, not sure how I missed that box. Will release an updated version tonight, league will drop to 10 teams but with 27 games by 2024. There are also standards for professionalism, stadium size etc so I'll see about including them.
