So I'm hopeful I'm back. I've just completed my second season on my 3rd attempt with Basford. @craigcwwepersuaded me to restart with Basford using a tactic he's developed on 21 but it just didn't feel right. So I decided to start on 22 again using that tactic.

I’ve had the same issue as well. Was the same on 21 as well.

Sacked. Again! Genuinely lost for words with how hard this is. It’s never been this bad before. Attacking is too much. Balanced is too defensive. Positive causes too many issues. Morale is a mess and too overpowered.

So managed to get to intake day last night. I’ll post if we stay up. Although the intake was rubbish. With 5 games remaining we’re 6 off the side in 20th. Our form is shocking and there’s definitely something that has been tweaked as once you’ve gone, you’ve gone.
I don’t want to change tactically every time something goes wrong either.

Despite the inconsistencies of the first season it was an enjoyable season. Aside from about 4 games to go we were never in doubt. What I’ve established is to stick with playing the way I wanted. Chopping and changing doesn’t work. Whether that’s the case all the time. There will be a few tweaks possibly but happy enough with how we performed.
Already a few departures for pre-season and they are Carl Baker who has retired and McCrory who wasn’t happy with his lack of playing time and by the time I was told and looked at him for the DM slot he’d already decided to leave.
If we can find a striker to assist Dwyer(hopefully Scott is that player) and Murphy can keep a few clean sheets at the back then hopefully we can have a season of progression.

Have managed to get a couple of coaching badges from them and a few more increases on backroom staff.

So after alot of attempts and fails. Including one with Nuneaton. I restarted the other day. Decided that I wasn't going to play kick and rush but would look to play a bit more a narrow, passing 4-1-3-2 with three central midfielders. Manager profile below with starting squad, finances and facilities.

It’s definitely a lot harder. It doesn’t help that you’ve got to deal with a proper mismatch of personalities early doors.

Just when you think you’ve cracked it. Things going well. Then the game decides to screw you over.
Before anyone says it’s my tactics. It probably is but it may as well be called Morale Manager 22. As once the bubble has burst you’re done for.2 -

Have never known it to be this tough. Nothing works tactically and I’m unsure whether I have the ability to get through a season.

The Nuneaton save isn’t going well either. Have to say I’ve lost interest with them but we’ll see. Definitely seems harder.

3rd attempt with Nuneaton Boro. They have a squad of 39 players all in and seem to have enough depth. Quality, who knows.

Still deciding what side to be next so will most likely get properly started tomorrow now. A tad frustrating that I’ve had two attempts so far and nothing seems to work tactically.

Ended up staying up until past midnight last night as got well into my save. Got a decent intake including a 2 & half CA striker.
Relegated on GD on the final game of the season. So that’s Tamworth and Basford both done.
So back to the drawing board.

Was the board expectation - Avoid Relegation, rather than Battle Bravely to Avoid Relegation?
Avoid relegation. Only won like 4 games out of 30 after a great start. We were playing Kettering who were two clear in the next game as well.

Annoyingly checked the youth candidates and had a 3 star CA 15 year old RB.

Sacked as Tamworth boss with 5 games to go. Was two points off safety.

Having not had chance to play much until today. I managed to look further into Bognor Regis Town and the squad was lacking enough balance.
Have restarted and I'm now Tamworth. Shall post if I get into it.

Cups were garbage. Finances are shot to pieces. Reasonable intake. League heartbreak, Literally! Final game of the season we were outside the play-offs needing to better one of Fylde's or Southport's results. We were doing that as we were coasting 3-1 with 5 minutes of normal time remaining. They scored. Still no issues. 4 minutes of added time. We comfortably managed to negotiate 3 minutes and 55 seconds of that before conceding and dropping out of the play-offs. I can't complain but it was very difficult having been so close.
