dafuge
With the pre-order bonus of being able to play a beta version of the game two weeks early, what are people's thoughts on starting save games?
PaulHartman71
I've already pre-ordered so will get the beta version, but I'm quite skeptical about starting a long term save game before the first couple of patches, let alone a beta version! danielgear
Release date which will sort any bugs. Then off i go.
rancer890
I'm going to start it on release day. I'm going to treat the beta like a demo and probably just manage in MLS for the duration of the beta save, and hopefully give SI some good feedback on the things that could be improved in that league come a patch around release. hrbfcrule
I won't trust the beta with my long term save. I'll wait until release day so that any major bugs will have been fixed.
Lower Leagues Rule
I will be using the Beta like a demo, will be going in and learning the new bits and making sure I understand them all before i get into the real game on Nov 2nd (Though I may end up waiting my long term game until Nov 9th when I have Annual Leave booked)... Jason the Yank
Thinking a later date. I'm sure I'll buy it at some point, but none of the new things listed in the vlogs have got me excited. I could use a new laptop anyway (the R key has fallen off), and I'd just as soon hold off until the new year (because with my work schedule, it's likely that I'd work Christmas and New Year's Day. Meaning extra holiday pay. )
AcidBurn
I'm not sure how interested I am in FM13 so far there's not that many things that make me want to play it. I will probably start a career on FM12 and post it here before I do my first FM13 career.
SRL88
I am still to into FM12 to have even looked at FM13 to be honest, so I really dont know whats new etc. I will probably get it on the proper release date.
deltablue
Release date, not breaking the habit of a lifetime.
ManUTactician247
I'll wait for the price to drop first and then buy it around Christmas time, then I will start my career (whatever that may be).
AK22
I'll treat the beta as a demo, so definitely won't be starting until release day (probably with release day patch!). Quite happy to have a **** about for a couple of weeks to get to grips with the new features, though
dafuge
I'm completely undecided. Usually I'd wait for the proper release day, but that just happens to be the last day of my week off work.
ozzymanborn
I will start when extra leagues ready-working-compatible (First I have to make Turkish Lower Leagues and Waiting for England/Brazil made by others- also full version /with players/ of (KONAMI nation) - And full versions /without players/ of most of the others like in Africa/Asia/Oceania and missing ones in Europe...) AK22
I suppose it will come down to how stable to beta is. If it's riddled with bugs, then it's probably best to wait. If not, it might be alright to start straightaway.
gogogo golem
I won't have a career on here but I'm going to wait for release day before starting the save I really want to do. I'm going to spend the time on the BETA playing in MLS or as Liverpool.
Jojo manager
The beta's brilliant news, even though I probably won't be playing it as it will give editors the time to create the additional graphics I need to get fully immersed into a game of FM. Will then hopefully be able to start a long term game on November 2nd instead of around 2 weeks after the release date, like I have had to do in previous years. DodgeeD
I'm still trying to complete the Big Euro challenge and I'm not sure if the retailer I pre-ordered from is suppliying access to the beta (wasn't mentioned on the webpage). Once I get the game, I'm going to have a crack at dafuge's challenge for the first time but also run a career here (I like to have two saves on the go at once). Later on, I have plans to do rancer's Asian challenge (once decent extra leagues have been made available) and maybe others as well. We'll see
Crispypaul
I go on holiday for a week and a half the sunday after the game is finally released, so will wait until I get back before beginning my career thread. Haven't pre-ordered yet and am not sure I want to, as i'm trying to get to my 10 year anniversary with my dafuge challenge game first (2 seasons left) so will probably not play the beta. BadManager
I don't get every version (far too expensive in Australia for a start) so I doubt I will have an FM13 career at all.
ashton321
I dont think I am going to get it. I am thinking I may just stick with FM12 (after finally resolving my crash dump issues). I began a new career a week or so ago and really sort of getting into it so may just play that till Christmas time and see where we go. Its a bit of a major challenge so is no going to be sorted easily.
Hypanimz
I'm starting my main career on the 19th. My theory is they wouldnt release it early if it wasnt as good as ready.
noikeee
I want to start it in the release day but I want leagues from certain nations that won't be out that day. Will have to build them myself most likely. This if I do journeyman.. still torn on whether to do that or one-club save.
Jolanthustrel
I'm going to potter around in the editor first and likely create my own nation first before starting a proper career save.
rancer890
I've slightly changed my stance. I think I will manage in MLS and maybe my own Asian challenge in the beta release. I've been itching to get back into the swing of things having not played FM in so long (since August) and I think having one (or two) careers to start off would help me get into playing FM13 since there's no way I'm going to play FM12 again. For the journeyman I will probably wait till some editor files for Europe, West Asia, and the North American lower leagues to pop up before starting.
Welsh Wizard
Unsure what career I will have as of yet so will likely spend some time doing some of the challenges then go for a journeyman save but think I may go for a one club career which may involve one of challenges. Fabio MVP
I will wait for couple of days after 2nd November to see if there are going to be any patches and then I will start my long term save game.
karax268
I'm starting my long term save the moment I get the beta and take the risk of a game- breaking bug (doubt there will be any though)
Guest
beta ofc.. its the full game.. prob very minor differences from the full game unless there is any bugs found.
john1
Will do it on release day
Shevchenko
A later date. I am going to watch some youtube videos of gamers playing the beta. Then I am going to "have a closer look" at some of these new features in the release. And then I will go for a save =).
tomtuck01
Not even sure when i'm going to get the game yet as i'm enjoying my FM12 save so much.
SRL88
I think the excitement is starting to build for me regarding FM13. I will probably go out and buy it on release day to be fair.

What are your plans for a save? I reckon I'll start with my most local club on the DB - Guiseley AFC - rather than just starting unemployed.

I cant see myself picking a side to start with. Although I fancy a youth challenge, I like signing players way to much.
Nobby_McDonald
Game arrive. Patch up. Play.

Although I fancy a youth challenge, I like signing players way to much. Oh I won't do a youth challenge, I'll quite happily sign players. I just want to take my most local club to the top, and as I can't do it with Farsley Celtic anymore, it'll be Guiseley.
SRL88
So a one club save then?
tomtuck01
So a one club save then? Well, it depends how quickly I win the Champions League/get sacked.
snootyjim
Inclined to wait until release day at the earliest. Too fearful of game-breaking bugs.
crouchaldinho
I'll take a look at the Beta before making up my mind. It it's looking in decent shape and feeling very playable then I'd quite like to start my main save straight away. If it's feeling very much like an unfinished game then I will most certainly wait until the final release. So it really does depend what kind of game we get for the Beta. I suspect it will be more like a 'pre-release' than a Beta anyway so we may well have a stable version on which to start our main saves.
