Sure that it hasn't anything to do with licences ? Teams from lower leagues won't get promoted in Belgium if they don't have the right license (stadium, lights etc).

I assumed it might be something like that. And for all I know, it might be. But Antwerp made it to the Final in 26/27 but didn't in 31/32. And Antwerp has been in the top tier (and currently is). Also, I think Antwerp's stadium seemed fine to me when I looked. Same thing has happened with Charleroi, they have advanced and have not advanced when they should have.

Youth Intake 2023

A decent intake for us both regarding quality and quantity. Three players stand out, but unfortunately its only David George who has a decent personality. Bob Sterry is a mercenary and Cole Wilson is unambitious. I have HOYD who is a model citizen and I wonder why I time and time again get youth players with poor personalities...

Vikeologist's Palermo 2030/31 End of Season Report

Image result for palermo fc

We finally managed to finish in the top 4; (3rd in fact) and qualify for the Champions League.

The far bigger story though was that we won the Europa League. We had a fairly easy path to the final, but I was delighted to pick up a 2-1 victory over Chelsea there.

We were still a long way from challenging for the title, but I threw my young left back Mattias Camillucci YP11a straight into the first team, and he was an improvement, even though he still doesn’t have as many stars as his predecessors.

The problem may be that I have lots of good players, but few excellent ones.

Last summer, one of my goalies, Davide Reda was my first player to be called up to the senior Italy squad, and even picked up a cap. I’m not sure why. At the time he was my backup goalie, although I had started him in almost all the European matches the previous season. Frankly he’s nowhere as good as the 3 goalies who are normally in the international squad. I may have wasted the potential of other goalies by not playing them instead of Reda in the past.

At the moment, I rotate between 2 goalies, and neither of them are happy about it. My other goalie, Luciano Campi YP5g, won the Serie A goalie of the year.

Top Goalscorer – Vanni Lugli YP7d - 30

A year ago Lugli was 4th on the depth chart, and seemingly on his way out because he wasn’t prepared to re-up his contract which had 2 years to run.

So I gave him a chance, and in pre-season he was awful, but once the season started he was on fire. He didn’t keep up his rate of goals throughout the season, but he scored both our goals in the 2-1 victory over Chelsea in the Europa League final.

He wasn’t our top league goalscorer. That was Varsallona, who topped the Serie A charts.

The surprise was Fantini. You may remember him as the star striker who doesn’t score, but when given the opportunity he did this season, with 19 goals from 19 starts, (and lots of sub appearances).

Highest Average Rating (minimum 10 matches played) – Luciano Campi YP5g – 7.89

Fourth year in a row, and a new high.

Most Valuable Judas - A.A. Morabito YP4c

I’m pleased to report that none of the players who abandoned us for supposedly better clubs have fared well. None of them have picked up a senior (Italian) cap. Morabito left us 5 years ago for our Europa League opponents, Chelsea, but was long gone by the time of the final. Now plays in Russia for Spartak Moscow, although he doesn’t play much.

As far as I can tell, only 1 Judas is with another Serie A club. They’re all failures.

Man of The Match – Vanni Lugli YP7d- 8

Most Valuable Player– Luciano Campi YP5g

Dulwich Hamlet 2022/23 Mid-Season

We're way more involved in a title challenge than we have any right to be; we've been very inconstent, but so have our competitors. This means we're only four points off the top, although we do have a much worse goal difference.

League Table

uRQkJvp.png

Fourth place is really quite impressive considering how weak our general play has been. There isn't much of the gap either up or down, though, so even a slight downturn in form for our second half might well end up with us around mid-table.

Fixtures

zV3HEug.png

We were unbeaten for quite a while after the start of the season, until we suddenly weren't. Form has dipped quite a bit in the second quarter.

We did okay in the FA Cup, but squandered a 2-0 lead against Vanamara National Nuneaton. The visiting team scored in the 89th and 93rd minute, then beat us comprehensively at their place. We also took league leaders Sutton to a replay, but they defeated us at home.

Squad

6Zxy0YX.png

Emmanuel Gahadzikwa's taken over from Barry Turner as our playmaker and has been doing very well in that role. Reise Allassani continues to be the dangerman in front of goal, but youth player Luke Cook has scored 2 goals in 2 starts and is showing goalscoring credentials for the U18s and U23s and might be ready for a few more starts in the next few months. Ken Cheadle only had a bit part in our season last year, but has developed well and has started in all our league games so far. His performances could be better, but he's doing alright.

S.S.D. Latina Calcio 1932

Season 11 // Serie B

On The Pitch

Strong first half of the season, disappointing second half. It's still a problem that we are not getting good players, so we don't make that much progress.

But we had a nice cup run, which was fun.

Key Players

Mario Mone (05A): Again our best goalscorer. Only player I think I could lose because he's good enough to be interesting for other clubs. Try to give him a new contract in the summer.

Giuseppe Romani (07A): Had his best season yet and is on the way of becoming one of the few players who can bring this club forward. Still needs to improve his tackling and I need to find a way that he gets fewer yellow cards. 18 in 31 league games is a little bit too much.

Off The Pitch

The cup run saved us, so we didn't fall too deep into depth (because of paying back the big loan for the stadium). If we can't repeat such a cup run, next season will see us fall deep into the red numbers. But I hope that 2032 the stadium sponsorship money comes in and sorts that out.

Another really bad intake. This time there's not one player I think will have a promising future at the club, so I don't even bother with presenting them here.

Don't know if it has to do with the club located in the busy Roma area and all the bigger clubs snatching up the best youngsters (and even 3 to 5 14 year olds every season from our youth ranks, too – but most of the time not very good ones). Don't know what I can do to change that. I've the best head of youth development I can find, board doesn't want to upgrade anything. Seeing your intakes and your players I really envy you @vikeologist

At least I don't need to worry with other clubs poaching my players. I did several versions of this challenge and I had fewer attempts from other clubs poaching a player of mine in 11 seasons than in every other attempt at this challenge in the first 2 seasons.

Next Season

I just copy and paste the text from last season (with some small adjustments): I don't have a big target. Players need to improve. It would be nice to get in the promotion play-offs for the first time – just to show progress, but I would take any position out of the drop zone. Because: If I compare players I am still one of the worst teams in this league.

2054/55 Annecy FC season review - French Ligue 1

The League

As often happens when we have a European campaign, we struggled in the league. I had two meetings with the board regarding our performance, with my job in jeopardy. We eventually finished in 15th. Safe, but no European football next season.

OGC Nice, caused a storm by breaking Marseille's dominance on the league. The unearthed a gem from FC Kobenhaven. Niklas Beck was purchased for 11m as a youth player. At 22yrs old, he top scored in the league and lead Nice to victory. Luckily for the rest of the Ligue 1 teams, they have just sold him on to Man Utd for 115m gbp.

Marseille consoled their runner up spot in the league by winning the Champions Cup and French Cup.

Champions Cup

We started with 3 wins and 2 draws to be top of the group going into the last group game. Unfortunately we lost to Atletico Madrid to finish 2nd in the group and got a tough round of 16 draw against FC Bayern.

Bayern beat us 1-4 on aggregate. I was not too happy about our performance, but when Bayern beat Atletico 6-0 in the quarterfinal, it cheered me up a bit.

The Players

Jean Magne YP38c broke the club league appearances record with 599 in the league and 705 appearances overall. He is starting his decline, but will get more games as there are no quality centrebacks coming through to replace him.

Miloud Hadj Youcef YP40b became a centurion for his country, reaching 107 caps and 36 goals for Algeria.

Ahmet Cinar YP46a changed his nationality to Turkish and got called up to the national team after 26 caps and 6 goals for the French U21 team. He scored on his 2nd game for Turkey.

Season Summary 2022-2023

Loss in playoff final :seagull:

Another season finishing in a playoff spot after being predicted relegation. We finished 5th place in the league, an improvement on last years 7th place and this got us a home game against York in the first playoff game. We beat them 3-1 but it could have been more and we were never really threatened. The next game was tougher, Swindon away, and this time we were big underdogs. Left winger Odelusi gave us the lead after 30 minutes, before Swindon made it 1-1 early in the second half. The game winning goal came from left back Blair Adams, scoring with a fantastic long shot in the 88th minute. In the final at Wembley we were facing Wrexham. They finished 4th place in the league, one spot ahead of us, and had surprisingly beaten Morecambe in the playoffs. The game was even throughout and we blew a couple of huge chances in the second half. Wrexham scored the winning goal after 75 minutes, the only goal of the game, and we never managed to create any real chances at the end of the game. Close, but no cigar!

Of course I was hoping for a promotion when we got this close, but we wouldn't have been anywhere ready and maybe this is for the best!

The season overall was fairly decent. We had some hot and cold streaks, but overall I think we have found a system that works good. I adjusted the set pieces (as FM keeps editing set piece instructions from time to time...) and this made us a lot better on corners the second half of the season, on both ends of the pitch. Hoping to make that an even stronger weapon next campaign.

Right back Adam Patterson is developing at a crazy rate, he is a class player at the age of 17! Long term injuries to both my wingers (2 months each) also gave my young winger Eddie Sheridan some deserved game time and I did see some immediate improvement.

We got to the 3rd round of the FA Cup and faced Premier League side Brighton. They took the lead after 3 minutes, and then we came back to make it 1-1 only 5 minutes later. Get in South Shields! Then we lost 7-2! At least it was away so it got us good income. Income that we need, as our finances are terrible! Our chairman has to give us a new loan every year!

Goals for next season: Reach the playoffs and be more consistent.

NK Zadar: 2022/23 season review

A frustrating season as we didn't kick on from last year's league standing, eventually finishing in a lower position, on less points with less goals scored. In other news though we managed to reach the final of the Croatian Cup, losing to Hajduk after extra time.

1063406982_TABLE23.thumb.png.e62e1676a9dd95bd53c85be8ce2f9ec3.png    71933338_CUP23.thumb.png.42ca350134aaca167213129e321d5ffb.png

Some promising performances over the season from a few youth players. Goalkeeper Bender made team of the year.

Youth intake wasn't anything special. Finally made the change in Head of Youth which will hopefully result in less newgens with low ambition/determination. Had my first poaching :(

Transfers below. Some unexpected good news came when the club were awarded just under £500k as part of solidarity contribution...

2055/56 Annecy FC season review - French Ligue 1

The League

We started off well and were in 3rd place at the mid season point. In the second half of the season, we suffered our usual issue of injuries and suspensions and dropped down to 6th. Importantly, we are back in Europe next season.

Marseille had an 'Invincibles' season, winning the league with 7 games in hand and without dropping a game. 100 points was an amazing score.

The Cup

We reached our 2nd French Cup final. Unfortunately it came at a time when we had several injuries and suspensions. With only 13 first team players available, we went down 0-3 to PSG in the final.

The highlight of our cup run was the quarterfinal victory over national champions OGC Nice. It was 0-0 at the end of 90mins, then they scored in the 2nd minute of extra time. We equalized just before full time and won the penalty shootout.

The Players

Bryan Pham Ba rolled back the clock and scored 22 goals, just one behind top scorer Benjamin Bernard.

Screve Makengo YP48a was our player of the season. Despite a few injuries, he contributed 14 goals and 11 assists from the left wing.

Gabay Callamand YP50a got called up to the French national team, but didn't take the field. He's also been called up to the French U23 team going to the Olympics this summer. Gabay was the last youth player to make it into the first team. It's been a while.

Zaid Neubronner YP54a had a good season on loan at Le Puy Foot 43. He was runner up in the French National division (third tier) player of the season award. He looks like he could be the next to make the step from youth team to first team.

Eight players from the youth intake were signed this season. Not so much because it was a quality intake, but more because five of our starting eleven and a further three subs are over 30yrs old. We're facing a substantial rebuild some time in the future.

Dulwich Hamlet 2022/23 End of Season

Ken ****ing Cheadle. If I ever come across someone called Ken Cheadle in real life, I might punch them in the face. We were 1-0 up against St. Albans in the playoff semi-final and completely tearing them apart, when Cheadle decided to go for a two-footed lunge deep inside the opposition half. We held on for a long time, but conceded in the 86th minute and ended up losing on penalties.

League Table

rrUCWPz.png

We slipped down a little bit but ended up squeaking into the playoffs where we beat Salisbury 2-0 before St. Albans knocked us out. They ended up winning promotion alongside champions Sutton.

Fixtures

372WO8C.png

Decent form, especially towards the end, with just a couple of hiccups. We had a nice goalscoring run near the end which is promising for next year.

Squad

G4miZoD.png

David Courtney, Preston Edwards and *hiss* Ken Cheadle all featured in 50 games, Reise Allassani scored a lot of goals again, with Luke Cook coming into the team as a second striker and getting a decent return. Thomas Moss leaded on assists, Emmanuel Gahadzikwa was our best player overall.

Youth Intake

ZIQLiTs.png

Our fourth 'golden generation' in five years, with at least four players who could feature straight away. Ed Atkinson will be slotting into our first team next year to replace aging Preston Edwards, the others should be getting some experience too.

qb25CYn.png LtDC0LT.png

32gBmAa.png xcaXgEc.png

Finances and Facilities

OILrpld.png

iuEk2bH.png

We moved up to Category 3, which should help youth development.

Conclusion

A really disappointing and frustrating end to the season, but with the youth coming through I have faith that we can actually challenge for the title next season. Every one of our good players has a contract for next year, so if we are losing first teamers, it won't be on a free.

Koninklijke Voetbal Klub Tienen-Hageland - 2034/35 Season - Belgian Pro League B

I talked about the tale of two halves last season where we played well the first half and then collapsed in the 2nd half. This season was the complete opposite. finishing 6th in the first phase. Only 4 points from 7th and a possible relegation battle. But the 2nd phase rolls around and we start on a 6-1-0 roll, first place in the phase and we stayed there. Finished 9-2-3 and finished 1st, clear by 6 points. Combined with the 1st phase we ended up going 14-5-9 and 3rd place overall. But the promotion playoffs are the champs of the two phases face off...... and yes we lost to OHL, our fierce local rivals, failing limply 1-0 and 1-0. But I'm pretty happy to get to that point. Maybe next year we can take that next step and reach the Top Tier of Belgian football.

Another strong youth pull. The main reason I took over Tienen was due to the facilities and I have been able to improve them over the years. The only issue I have is I seem to have alot of Balanced personalities. I haven't quite got the mentoring thing down.

35youth.thumb.jpg.3dc05d115b7e8cb5e6a0c35490f0ebb5.jpgtransfers35.thumb.jpg.0d9ef346d31b8b97c13abc775a92c402.jpg

The legend that was Gert Verbeeck is now gone. He wouldn't re-sign so he is now a free agent likely to stay a free agent and retire shortly. I'll keep an eye on him to see if he might become a coach or something and maybe sign him. But a couple of seasons ago legendary Jean Pierre Schmitz wouldn't re-sign and he's retired now.

verbeeck35.thumb.jpg.66d210e3d5c55f755ab1b1a33b87cb4a.jpg

I am getting to that point now where some of my original youth are getting up in age and retiring. I still have 2 guys from my first youth pull, Thomas De Schrijver and Willem De Wit. De Wit is now about the 5th or 6th choice at central defense though he is still team captain. De Schrijver is still excelling, was the 3rd choice as Player of the League last season, though I know there are probably better younger players than him now. I still play him since he clearly plays well. I finish with my team summary and I included my Top 10 Lists as well.

Table | Squad | Transfers | Finances

This season marked a small improvement for us compared to the other teams. We are beginning to control matches more, and not fall together if we concede once, and it shows quite well in our goal difference compared to earlier years. Here's to hoping it's not a one off, but rather a sign of us finally being able to fight for the top spot soon. For the most part we have stopped losing big, and actually started to win big a few times. So in the end we had a decent finish, while Bangor City fell through and won once after the split to lose out to us for the 2nd place behind TNS. So we are qualified for Europe through league play without having to go through playoff for the first time! We are going places.

In the Welsh League Cup we beat Ammanford and Swansea Uni before losing to Barry Town in the quarter final. In the Welsh Cup we beat Corwen before losing to Bangor City in the 4th round.

We had another go in Europe this season and once again in the Europa Conference. In the 1st qualification round we drew FCI Levadia of Estonia. We won 2-1 at away and held them to 1-1 at home to go through. In the 2nd qualification round we faced Antalyaspor of Turkey. We managed to get a very good 0-0 away before we practically stole a 2-1 win at home to go through. I had no hope we could do that, but I was delighted. In the 3rd qualification round we drew Malmö FF of Sweden. Here we lost both games 1-2 to get knocked out. Still, a fantastic run for us.

I've also made a map to see where we have traveled in our European matches, and I'll update it for each season we are in Europe. Here is how it looks at the moment.

qJpNe6a.png

Hopefully, it will be expanded quite a bit in the future.

We had an amazing intake, and I think it's based on the improvements we have gotten approved the last few years. Marc James 27j is an amazing defender that is one of the best players in the squad already. The second most notable player is Cameron Jenkinson 27b.

The leading players this season have been Josh Griffiths 23gDavid Murray 26a and David Cross 25f.

Belfast Celtic FC (N. Ireland)
Season 6 - 2025/26

What a season! We won promotion to the Danske Bank Premiership and we made it all the way to the final of the Irish Cup. In the final we lost clearly to Larne. On our way we beat Premiership teams Ballinamallard Utd, Glentoran and Glenavon. Very impressive by the players. We also received approx. £33.000 for playing in the final. This improves our finances considerably. No incoming transfers.

League (Results 1 , Results 2, Cups, League Chart) - Things just clicked and we started strongly. Going into promotion playoff phase we already had a healthy lead, and we were helped by a lot of draws in our group. In the end, we were crowned champions with two games to go. Fantastic.
Our Irish Cup run which took us to the final is even more impressive. On our way, we beat three Premiership teams before we had to surrender to Larne in the final. I now hope that since Larne won the Irish Premiership title, that we will takeover their spot in the Europa Conference League. A first taste of european football would be nice, but I am not sure it will happen. The first one who got away, Aaron Hunter, was actually on the bench in the final.

Team - Our best eleven consists almost entirely of the best players from the intakes from the last two years. In defense, Elliot Magee and Marty Finlay improved the quality, and in the attack, especially Jimmy Keogh found the goals we were missing last year and some too. He was very impressive this year and won Player of the Year and was top scorer in the Bluefin Sport Championship. Our other two strikers Jason Adams and Kieran Brown also scored good amounts of goals. On the wings Glenn Teer and Adrian Byrne also had strong seasons, and in midfield we had a good partnership in Paul McGovern and Steve O'Sullivan. Alan McNeill also had a very good season. The only real concern I have is my Martin Harrison. He has been very good for me so far, but I noticed some errors from him in the cup games against the Premiership teams. I am hoping he can improve, because I am not sure, that my up and coming reserve Chris Campbell is ready for Premiership action yet.

Facilities - Junior Coaching and Youth Recruitment are still Exceptional. After we got the money from the participating in the cup run, I tried to upgrade our Basic Training Facilities, but apparently it requires better finances still.
Instead, I am hoping that we with the improved finances and our promotion can turn professional, enabling me to tie down our prospect on real full time contracts.

Finances - They are solid for now. And hopefully good enough to turn professional.

Youth Intake - For all our intake upgrades, I was a bit disappointed. The intake is still considered a golden generation, but the prospects does not seem to be on the same immediate level as previous intakes. I might be wrong though, and I am hoping that they will improve much. The best ones seem to be Rab Coyle, Matthew Hanna and Alan McDermott.

Goal for next season: Survive in the Danske Bank Premiership. Hopefully the club will turn professional.

Youth intake 2024

The intake preview in december promised a golden generation with top talent on the full backs, center backs and in midfield. Only one of them came through with a great left full back. Our current starter in the position is getting older and this was a fantastic addition to the team. Shane Ireland will go straight into the team and with Adam Patterson on right back, currently the best player in my squad at only 18, we have a bright future in those positions.

Little bit dissapointed not to get a couple more future starters, but maybe Ronnie Kellett can develop into a good player. Too bad about his unambitious personality!

NK Zadar: 2023/24 season review

Another frustrating season as we finished 7th again, although it could've been worse due to a period after the winter break when we picked up just 1 point from 11 games
Hoping to narrow the gap between the ourselves and the top teams next season.

1803873018_TABLE24.thumb.png.de9774963b250531205bf6fa398764bb.png   1362541946_RESULTS24.thumb.png.d85c336a21b4ec1540bc3c35d3b41c39.png

Not many stand out performers this season. 19 year old youth prospect, Miro Amizic (21A) was top scorer and is slowly turning into quite a player.

1383564297_SQUAD24.thumb.png.640fbcb53770aebc3b6023f7112d4da7.png   853959733_AMIZIC(21A)24.thumb.png.a5bdde771ff326dc499bc662c4ca8ae7.png

Youth intake was average at best. Took on the majority to bolster the numbers. A change of HoYD saw us take less players with low determination.

Transfers below. Decided to send a lot of youth out on loan as they can only play so many friendlies due to no youth league.

No change is facilities as we continue to struggle for money due to no prize money in Croatian football.

Season Summary 2023-2024

Another season, another playoff loss. This time already in the first round against Aldershot. We lost 1-2, but it could have been more. No complaints really, they are a better team than us and when we have to face them away in the playoff its a tough task.

We played overall okey this season, but our striker Jason Gilchrist scored 20 goals, and even though thats pretty good he had 30 the year before. Hopefully he can find his goal scoring machine form again next season. Defensively we are getting better and better with Patterson and Ireland on the full backs. In central midfield Nathan Lowe once again proved he is the heart and soul of this team, finishing the league with a 7,37 avg. rating. His midfield partner, Arron Thompson, is more of a worry. Originally a creative player he has had the defensive role since I started the save, but it's not ideal for his skills. I might give his spot to an academy player next year and build from there.

Goalkeeping position is still hopeless. McDermott went from 5 star potential and is now down to 3 stars...

Unfortunately we couldnt get past the first round of the FA Cup, losing 2-0 away to League 2 side Wrexham.

Table | Squad | Transfers | Finances

The new season started with a bang! We won the first 4 matches, and ran away with an early lead. There were a few points losses, of course, but we really set the pace. Going into the split, we were comfortably part of the top half, but Bangor City and Aberystwyth were not far behind. TNS had a horrible season and barely scrapped into the top half. Just after the championship stage started we had a horrible message. Our chairman had sold our best player, and one of the reasons we conceded noticeably less goals than earlier seasons. And to add insult to injury he sold him to TNS for pennies. I didn't even had a chance of protesting it, so I were rather annoyed at that. And we really noticed it in the next league games when we started to struggle a bit and Bangor City overtook us and clinched the title. We did manage to keep the 2nd place, but I'm just about fuming now. We had a real chance of the title, and the board sold us out of it.

In the Welsh League Cup we beat Cardiff Met Uni, Penybont, Llandudno and Afan Lido to reach the final. There we beat TNS to claim the trophy. In the Welsh Cup we beat Airbus UK Broughton and Barry Town before losing to Colwyn Bay in the quarter final.

Finishing 2nd last season also qualified us for the Irn-Bru cup this season. Here we beat Scottish League Two outfit East Fife before losing to another Scottish side, this time Championship contender Motherwell in the 4th round.

As becoming usual for us now, we had another go in the Europa Conference this season. We once again started in the 1st qualifying round were we drew Široki Brijeg of Bosnia & Herzegovina. In both matches we beat them with two goals to go through to the 2nd qualifying round. Here we faced Levski Sofia of Bulgaria. We lost with two goals at home, and drew away to be knocked out.

Here is our updated European tour map.

xj8kFiQ.png

We had another fantastic intake, and we can really see how our increased spending are helping. The two most promising ones are Charlie Williamson 28h and Lewis Williams 28g.

The leading players this season have been Neil Jones 24gDavid Murray 26a and Josh Griffiths 23g.

2056/57 Annecy FC season review - French Ligue 1

The League

Whenever we are playing in Europe, our league form suffers. This season was no different. A very poor 16th place had us flirting with a relegation battle and getting warnings from the board about performance.

PSG knocked us out of the quarterfinals of both the Euro Cup and the French Cup.

The Players

Club record league appearance holder, Jean Magne YP38c, has retired. He finished with 669 league appearances, 795 competitive games overall and 24 goals. He also achieved 5 caps and 1 goal for the French U21 team. Magne may not have been a superstar, but he was a consistent performer at both CB and RB. His contribution to the club will continue, as he has signed a new contract to be a coach of our U19s team.

Screve Makengo YP48a was our player of the season. Unfortunately it looks like he will not be building on the two caps for France he received early in his career.

With Magne's retirement, we only have three defenders in the first team. I plan to move Pierre Girard from LB to CB and fast track youngster Daniele Vanacore YP57a to LB in the first team. Hopefully his 20 determination can speed up development.

Season 9 2028/2029

In VNLS, the season was similar than last year. A strong start with around 25 games in the top 8, then 0 points in 5 games to start 2029. Then i slowly fell to the 15th place. With the second highest amount of opportunities created and 18 goals scored with set pieces, you can expect to not be the third worst attack of the league. I don't really know how to fix that. I am happy with the amount of goals scored on set pieces, this took me a while to figure out good strategies without exploits.

This is the last season of my legendary striker Jack Mazzone, he carried me along those 9 seasons with 233 goals, 52 assists and 68 POM. He won 2 times the player of the season in VNLS in 2024 and 2026. He will get a testimonial just before his contract ends. I hope i will be able to hire him as staff. After his departure, only 1 player from the original squad will remain, Arthur, a central defender.

20200128205604_1.thumb.jpg.6755978ecbced3393917c1b9fffdaa3c.jpg20200128205527_1.thumb.jpg.9d4f86943a122af5672f51d7d2ff6f0d.jpg

Yeeee a good run in Fa cup! After a rough double confrontation against Yeovil (predicted 2nd in VNLS), we faced Bolton a L2 team. Surprinsingly, we dominated them in both confrontations and managed to reach 2nd round after a 87 min goal. Their coach was fired between those confrontaitons, that's surely helped us! Then we faced Harrogate a VNL team, they dominated us 3-0. We came back in the last minutes to 3-2 and we even had the chance to equalize.

A good financial boost allowing us to do our first facility improvement!!! After 9 seasons lol. 220k to improve youth facilities.

20200128205923_1.thumb.jpg.102bf30015f72ab7ea6a723ec78cbb49.jpg20200128205619_1.thumb.jpg.92a76ddaab8a60b6c9a022ea34f0b267.jpg

I'm confused, this YT is presented as a potential golden generation, yet this looks like a bad year.

20200127175733_1.thumb.jpg.b9779a80332a390027e0d7c9eb9303ea.jpg20200128205648_1.thumb.jpg.2b216b73bb9c090cfcf4b611a74a0009.jpg

I would like to reach play-offs, my squad is overall better than when i took over the club. Yet, something is missing. With no one scoring more than 10 goals this season, i can assume Mazzone records will hold for a while...

Another good season for me. Similar as last season but scoring more goals and had a couple of dominating wins against top teams.

My squad is developing really well so I actually belive I can win trophys with these players.

Youth intakes that will improve my team will be rare now, but got a striker this intake that looks promising Raffaele Penzo

NK Zadar: 2024/25 season review

An up and down season, that started with zero points after 8 games! Slowly we turned the corner and finished well clear of relegation. A 6pts improvement on last year's points tally but a drop in position.

236128228_TABLE25.thumb.png.335278cd98a7ef5f3735ecac06af5487.png   1613658603_RESULTS25.thumb.png.594610d4a14ab7c21c32610cfbdf7478.png

Some steady performances over the season but the goalscoring stats were very poor. Hopefully, we can find some consistency for next season, whilst avoiding a terrible start.

1398213697_SQUAD25.thumb.png.0ae78a93ed73d0e17b11b946fa456790.png

Youth intake was very frustrating as most players came through with unambitious personalities, which I can't explain as the HoYD has pretty good mental stats.

No change with the facilities. Bank balance is a worry even though we raked in £100k by having Genk and Levante as parent clubs.

Dulwich Hamlet 2023/24 End of Season

I decided to reduce the rate of updates, not enough happens per season to justify a mid-season update. Anyway, we got promoted, although it took us playoffs to get there. We were top on the last day of the season, but lost to Newport County while Eastbourne won their game to leave us without silverware. In the semi-finals, we beat Havant & Waterlooville 5-2, before defeatting Dartford in the final.

League Table

itiWYAE.png

It was pretty close at the top, with Eastbourne, Newport and us duking it out at the top of the table for a long time. Reise Allassani finished second in the top scorer charts, Luke Cook was top for assists.

Fixtures

vomNJrO.png

6roVBpi.png

The big difference with last season is that we managed to cut out the longer slumps, although it's worrying how few clean sheets we managed to get - only 7 over 42 games. The defining factor in our wins was our attacking strength, with Allassani, Moss and Cook scoring 72 goals between them. I hope they can keep that up next season, or we'll be in trouble.

Not much happened in the cups. We outplayed Aldershot but they beat us; Sutton absolutely destroyed us and we were lucky to even take them to extra time.

Squad

nNKRG9P.png

David Courtney got the most appearances for us once again, only missing out on one game in the FA Trophy. Allassani just beat Cook for overall top scorer, thanks to 9 goals in the last four games of the season; Cook however also laid on 18 goals and has been attracting the interest of some League Two sides. Thomas Moss was solid again, so was Emmanuel Gahadzikwa, who will probably be our captain next season. Ed Atkinson became our starting goalkeeper as the season progressed, but we did renew Edwards' contract just to be on the safe side. Karl Blake took over from Nathan Green on the left wing and will be our starting winger going forward.

Youth Intake

IGylGuz.png

LtZHCS1.png

A supposed 'golden generation' - 5 for 6 so far - but Pavey's the only one who jumps out at me atm.  We're kinda full up for strikers right now, I'll need to see if I can utilize him somehow.

VzMBp6s.png fwGhXOD.png ZRFVA7o.png

Pavey is definitely the best player in this bunch, he's quick, a good finisher and has some good mentals. Belle is an okay allrounder in midfield, Townrow is a physical presence but I'm not sure how much he'll feature.

Finances and Facilities

QLf9ZDm.png

We need to expand the stadium to comply with league rules, but it's pretty cheap fortunately. We've had some good attendance in the league, so hopefully that'll grow even more with the expansion. Because it was only £100K to expand the stadium, the finances are still looking excellent. Wage costs will go up a lot for my players, as most of them had promotion wage rises in their contracts, but we should still be absolutely fine.

uKrV7tB.png

Conclusion

We probably should have gone up as champions, but a promotion is a promotion and I'm okay with things for now. It'll be interesting to see how our players hold up in the Vanarama National. In older FMs the gap between these leagues wasn't so big and we've done okay against VNL opposition in the cups, but we are playing more and more youth players. A lot will depend on how our attacking force holds up.

Vikeologist's Palermo 2032/33 Youth Intake Report

Image result for palermo fc

Before I start, I've noticed that (as far as I am aware) I have never had a single non-Italian come through in an intake. I have plenty of foreign coaches, and my youth recruitment (and all other facilities) are maxxed out and have been for some time, so I find this slightly weird. I'm not complaining. The last thing I need is someone with small African nation second nationality that's going to disappear for ACONS and the like.

Anyway.

My thirteenth intake. Unlucky for some; well, definitely for me.

This was supposed to be a golden generation, but it certainly doesn’t seem like one. I’ve had a few bad intakes, but this one looks the pits. Of course, potential is all relative. We’re one of the top clubs in the world I guess, so maybe some of these 3 starrers will turn out ok. Their personalities, (and I’m referring to the entire intake) are dreadful. But that’s something that I’m able to change.

Enzo Toso YP13d- The five that I’ve offered contracts to were all 3 star potential, but this is the guy that my DoF singled out, albeit unenthusiastically. He’s determined, which is something I guess. Has the most current ability of all of them, but that's not saying much.

So much for that lot then. Let’s look back 4 years to YP9.

Gianluca Allegretti YP9a = Was described as promising. For half a season he was one of my starting strikers, but I have 4 good ones, and 2 spots. Allegretti is pretty much 4th of 4 at the moment, though I do strive to get him as many matches as possible. Unfortunately, he doesn’t do much when he gets the chance. He only has 2 goals so far this season. If he gets more opportunities though, he could still be a star.

Salvatore Nicolosi YP9b – Defensive midfielder / defender let go for free.

Santo Marangio YP9c – A striker on loan to Serie B clubs for the last 2 seasons where he’s been doing ok, but given that my oldest striker is only 26, he’ll probably never even get a game for us.

Giuseppe Martino YP9d – Goalie that I sold for 100k. I forget which one of you had trouble with goalies, but I’ve had a surfeit of promising goalies.

Plenty of other intakees have now been sold and are plying their trades in the lower leagues, plus one guy who I’ve just set for release in the summer.

Nonetheless, it looked as though there was only 1 good player, but Marangio looks ok as well. Could end up playing top tier football eventually, but probably not with us.

Koninklijke Voetbal Klub Tienen-Hageland - 2035/36 Season - Belgian Pro League B

My game crashed two matches into the 2nd phase. We had finished in 4th in the first phase but 5 matches were gone forever (I had went 2-2-1). So replaying the first 3 games, I went 0-3 (when I had been 1-1-1), thought that a bit unfair, so I restarted. This time I went 3-0 and won the phase. Again, I thought that was pretty unfair so I restarted. This time I just holidayed the first 3 matches, went 1-2 and just accepted it. Finished 4th again in the phase so that was fair.

The 2nd phase was a struggle, just could not get going at all, was in 7th place for awhile. But I managed to win my last 3 matches and finish 11-6-11 and 5th place. Another treading water season though each season the board seems to keep asking for just a bit more. Instead of fighting against relegation, now they want Top Half finish.

The '36 youth pull was probably my weakest pull in this save. But I like to see our best prospect is a GK, hopefully he can develop into the starter in a few seasons.

I'm not that I have ever shown my finances, but here you go. I think my peak Balance was around $15M.

S.S.D. Latina Calcio 1932

Season 12 // Serie B

On The Pitch

How many 2:0 leads can a team throw away? 8 could be some kind of record. We are getting problems if we are forced to use substitutes and so the last 20 to 30 minutes are always a gamble.

But we had another solid mid-table-finish. No progress? Hmm... Maybe. I experimented with tactics and I think I found a formation which makes us much more solid in the back. Used it in the last 9 games, lost only one of them:

J2mE79d.jpg

Key Players

Mario Mone (05A): 5th season in the row the best striker. He is our life insurance and still the only player who could play for better clubs.

Fabio Petroni (03D): Our second striker had his best season since years. 14 goals are good, but the 11 assists are showing his value for the team.

Off The Pitch

For the first time in this save the chairman changed. But the new one came from inside the club, didn't want to invest any money and just took another bank loan. We are deep in debt because of the monthly repayment big loan for our new stadium. But we are moving into that stadium now. That should sort the finances out, if the promised stadium sponsorship money of 7.5 million euros will be paid.

Second season in a row we have an intake without any player worth presenting here. I took a few in for the numbers, but I am getting concerned. Especially compared to the bad quality of players we have at the club we should get some with 5 star potential...

Next Season

Hope the new tactic will help us make some slow progress. Still dreaming from my first Top-8-finish, still fearing getting in a relegation battle.

Anyone know what I need to do to hit the goals for "Develop players using the club's youth system"?

Clearly, ALL of my players are from my club's youth system. I have 3 starters who are U21. Actually almost all of my key players are U24.

So, it can't be players who came from my youth system and I don't think it can be due to age (though maybe if they want 17-18 yo's to get playing time). Or is it about players on a youth contract? Or maybe their role on the team (ie Breakthrough Prospect, Regular Starter)?

Vikeologist's Palermo 2032/33 Champions League Report

Image result for palermo fc

As I do every time I’m in the Champions League for this challenge, I’m going to up the tension by taking you through round by round.

I say I do this every time. This is only my second Youth Challenge time in the Champions League. My one previous campaign was about 2 years ago with Chita, where I won the league once, and then never again had a title or Champions League appearance.

Group Stage

Spoiler

Won every match

1st Knockout Round (if applicable)

Spoiler

Palermo              5-4         Atletico Madrid

We scored twice in injury time, and we needed both of them, because we would have gone out on away goals.

Quarter Final (if applicable)

Spoiler

Palermo               2-3         Man City

We had our left backs (different players, both backups) sent off in each leg, which was unhelpful.

Still, a promising first Champions League campaign. We were undone by injuries and suspensions, (and the sendings off).

I had that for a month or so, just after I agreed to the "new" vision. Then it went into "pleased" (or something similar) after a while. I think it might be a timing thing or something.

Koninklijke Voetbal Klub Tienen-Hageland - 2036/37 Season - Belgian Pro League B

PROMOTED!!

The season started off against Virton with goals from Raf Sterckx 30c and Alieu Sanneh 32b. Unfortunately, those guys play for Virton and we got crushed 3-0. I tried out a new tactic in that match using a Balanced Mentality and fewer TI's. After that drubbing, I decided to try it again and then proceeded to go on a 17 match unbeaten streak in the League. I won the first phase going 8-5-1. The 2nd phase wasn't too bad finishing 8-3-3 and 3rd place, 2nd place overall but I had clinched a spot in the Promotion Playoffs.

We played Cercle Brugge, a team trying to get back to Pro League as they had been relegated two seasons ago after spending most of their time in the top tier. The first match was on the road and we managed a dull 0-0 draw. In the 2nd match, at home, Gunther Van De Velde our right wing scored in the 8th minute and a further strike by Gert De Bondt at 23' gave us a 2 goal cushion which we were able to hold onto the rest of the way. Promotion!

table37.thumb.jpg.9d66ad813882798f38fdb0dddbe6e908.jpgsquad37.thumb.jpg.905a5d08860fb0e13a25022e137a466b.jpg

The youth pull was much stronger this season with some really nice potential, especially at positions that we are kinda thin on, such as DC and DM.

37youth.thumb.jpg.3b6fb8b6243620d6496eb1927d5ecefa.jpgtransfers37.thumb.jpg.c8489841a5573aed3dd5a0b0d5cba37c.jpg

Over the past few seasons I have been sending out a handful of players out on loan every year. I'm not 100% it is working but some of the players have been developing as they all pretty much play every game. What I generally do is send out the good prospects but keep the great ones with me and play them.

tienen37.thumb.jpg.5e51ee238df84deb0077f2bdfaf75b5e.jpg

Many seasons ago, I posted my starters and as I am going up to the Top Tier (and hopefully to stay there), I figured this would be a good time to do it again...

GK: Gustaaf Dumont 29f: This past season was his first full season as starter as Aron Goossens (27b) has been the starter for many seasons. But Dumont was younger and had some potential to improve. I have a few guys who have some potential to take this job in the future (Younes Robert 36a the most likely) but I think he is the guy for the next few seasons.

dumont37.thumb.jpg.50395ab772c2ff56c34e5105312488e3.jpg

DL/DR: Tim Simons 34h / Gunter De Smedt 33b: As will be true with many of these players, both of these guys have only taken the jobs away recently from long standing players. Simons took the job from Timmy De Vos (30i) and De Smedt got it from current club captain Dirk Nicolas (25a). At right back Francis Deprez (34f) has a shot to take the job but I don't see anyone pusing Simons at DL. Fullback has always been a position where I don't get alot of players.

simons37.thumb.jpg.2d45102cf4305fba676dc8569b666909.jpgdesmedt37.thumb.jpg.70764a3e794ac0c34ffd3b168d6a74b5.jpg

DC: Luigi Dumont 33c / Wouter Poels 34c: These two actually only solidified their starting spots over the past couple of months of the season as I had Dries Van Campenhout (27c) and Aron Muelemans (30l) as primary starters early on. But these two should be the starters going forward. Well, until some of the younger guys kick them out, I have 3-4 guys who I think might have the potential to become starters.

dumontl37.thumb.jpg.c812936691d045aa1af555a2c3860e3d.jpgpoels37.thumb.jpg.2fb02f4c2c24479a7d4bd45d22fbf67d.jpg

DM: Glenn Andries 32e / Raf Hendrickx 31g: Cesar Andre (29c) had been the prime playmaker here for years but Andries as quickly surpassed him and looks to be my best player at the moment. Hendrickx is not as safe but not that club legend Thomas De Schrijver (21d) has lost this job, there is not alot behind him. I don't get alot of DM's (or even CM's) in the youth pulls. Though I did get an unambitious one this past year (Boris Owona) so I will keep an eye on him.

andries37.thumb.jpg.50d63aa08718842fdb2e19c54d98a9a3.jpghendrickx37.thumb.jpg.8fc41eb07b6ff95a858baba610dfa4ba.jpg

AML / AMR: Ivan Saula 31d / Gunther Van De Velde 30b: I think Saula is the guy here, I have Dean Borremans (33h) getting playing time here and I get Mitchell van der Velden (33a) back from loan. On the right wing, Van De Velde has taken the job from club legend Kim Paquet (24i) but not so strongly that I benched him for Paquet the year before (and Paquet led the team in assists). Paquet is not good enough anymore but German Christian Fox (35b) looks like he might be the future at right wing.

saula37.thumb.jpg.d15fa702cedc008fbef537dcf7dcb110.jpgvandevelde37.thumb.jpg.7384ef218c53ed8ce3d849ccfed1101d.jpg

AMC / ST: Timothy De Backer 30a / Gert De Bondt 30d: By stars these two, who I have mixed around AMC, AMR and ST, should be my 2 best players. But they have never really produced as much as I think they should. De Bondt did lead the team in goals this past season so hopefully that is a sign. I have a number of talented players at the AMC/ST positions such as Mark Moens (32g) who I suspect will grab one of these spots soon.

debacker37.thumb.jpg.ab4c7b84ce9038c095a7b4317b755601.jpgdebondt37.thumb.jpg.dbfb01c91883e5084b25cbbb8e3652ca.jpg

And that's it. As happens every year I'm sure some of these guys will become backups in a year or so, but that's where I am now.

Every now and then I check out Timmy De Backer (27a), my superstar who I sold off to AA Gent as a youth. When AA Gent sold him to Atletico Madrid I got alot of money which allowed me to upgrade my facilities and produce most of the players above. He was sold off to Man City last season and has 72 caps for Belgium. But here he is (I don't know why I can see his attributes as in the past I couldn't).

Pretty sure you'll hit that goal naturally by playing the way we are.

Congratulations on Promotion @jstu9. Some good steady progress going on there.

Sending players out on loan is definitely helping for me. I send 7 youth players out per season, the maximum allowed in the French League. The youth players tend to get loaned out for 1-4 seasons and the ones that do well, go into my first team.

NK Zadar: 2025/26 season review

Another season of floating around the 7th/8th place in the league. Thankfully the bottom team as pretty terrible (I lost to 5-1 to them). Need to be more consistent in order to achieve any kind of European place.

563693207_TABLE26.thumb.png.d1290486a7ed728f128aa18ce994ea04.png

More consistent performances from a number of players. We are now getting to the point where most of the match day squad are newgens.

Youth intake was filled with unambitious players again. I've no idea why it keeps happening! :seagull:
Another player poached. He looks "akrap" player anyway :brock:

Training facilities have dropped in standard due to tech advances. Took on another parent club to ensure £150k per season.

2057/58 Annecy FC season review - French Ligue 1

The League

The struggle is getting harder each season. We are going backwards. There were several times we dipped into the relegation playoff spot, but eventually finished in 17th spot.

I'd like to think of this as a development season for Sylvio Rimane and Daniele Vanacore, but the truth is there are too many older players in decline and a lot more development needed.

35yr old Bryan Pham Ba broke the club appearance record, but he is now playing off the bench and only scored 3 goals from 41 appearances.

The Players

Florent Tabou YP40c is retiring after playing 600 games for Annecy FC, mostly at RB, but sometimes LB.

Sylvio Rimane YP55a is the long term replacement of Pham Ba and progressing nicely.

Daniele Vanacore YP57a was thrown in the deep end at 16yrs old and also performed well. But he is a bit of a hothead and picked up 18 yellow cards and 1 red card.
