We couldn't hold onto the pole position, and therefore dropped to 3rd. Enough for champions league qualification. Next year, the goal is to win at least one trophy, be it league, cup, or champions league. I don't think we're strong enough yet to win a treble. If a great signing comes, we'll take it, but the squad is looking strong. Country I took over as USA manager, and not much has happened. A relatively straightforward qualification group saw us easily qualify for the World Cup, which I think we have a decent chance at performing in. I'll stay until maybe the next Copa America? Crowy
VFB STUTTGART 2047/48 Manager Profile: Crowy - 2048 Key Players: Fernando Jose ~ Brian ~ Mohamed Ben Ammar ~ Rino Grippo ~ Florent Steiner Squad: Overview ~ Match Stats COMPETITION OVERVIEW (Click to View) Results: Bundesliga ~ Bundesliga II | Champions League | DFB Pokal So as I'd planned I didn't make many changes too my squad at all and if you look we got off to a fantastic start, for the first half of the season. I'm unsure what happened in the second half of the season at the end of results it was a lot of "we should of won with the chances we created" etc. We were the better team in the majority of the matches but for some reason our form became really inconsistent. I'm not sure where to go from here in terms of this squad, I'll probably give them another season and see how it develops and go from there. As expected in the Champions League we didn't really get that far, thankfully had a nice group and we gave Chelsea a good go too. In the Pokal semi final it really could have gone either way and just summed up our second half to the season. SPAIN EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS 2048 And last but not least Spain, without the S! As you can see from the xG in the first screenshot it's a game we should of won realistically, hitting the woodwork 2 or 3 times didn't seem to help and this just summed up my season over all. That's two losses in finals of the European Championships and seems like the game doesn't want to let me win one. Spain haven't sacked me but I may move on to try and do Asia Cup as I think that is next year before the World Cup, if not I'll stay here as the Euro's and Copa America have both just been played and are not for another 4 years anyway. libbyshuss
South Africa 2023/24 and 2024/25 2023/24 I joined with 10 games to go and the All Stars top of the Championship. It was gonna take something special for me to screw that up. and I didn't, guiding us to a comfortable title win. Woohoo! and another trophy for the cabinet, albeit one that doesn't count for the challenge 2024/25 So up to the premier league, where we were favourites to go down. Trouble is, we have a ridiculously low wage budget, by far the lowest in the league. So the squad had to be trimmed and we went in with around 16 first team players. Some decent free signings made it a balanced team though, and our striker was easily good enough for a higher team. We started ok, hovering around 11th or 12th for the first few months and then hit a nice bit of form at the end of the season to finish 6th. which was better than I expected! trouble is, with that small wage budget, I have a feeling I've already taken this team as far as I can. My contract is up.... do I quit or sign a new one? Career
libbyshuss
Season 2025/26 South Africa Premier League Season Summary So, I signed a new contract for another season! And we we were great, finishing third. I got offered a job at Mamelodi Sundowns - they had 10x the wage and transfer budget! But I did manage to get another coaching badge, which is nice, and a reputation of 50%. Whoop! So, that's it. I'm leaving the All Stars and seeing what happens next. I can't see me catching the top teams here any time soon. Career Summary Manager record What's next? Resigning and seeing what happens! I loaded up all the top leagues in Europe as well as Brazil, Argentina and so on so plenty of chances
Anners
Previous: On 23/09/2022 at 22:54, Anners said: Previous: 2036/37 & 2037/38 Season Report: Club: Lille (France)Nation: Jamaica So, I'm doing 2 seasons here as it's been fairly quiet and I genuinely forgot to do the season update after 36/37. I resigned from Sevilla after the 35/36 season and was actually clubless from July to the end of March until the Lille job came up (I am needing the Ligue 1 title specifically). 36/37:League - Cup - Europe37/38:League - Cup - EuropeFrance Ligue 1: So I joined very late for the 36/37 season, but managed to secure 2nd position and Champions League football. I only had 8 games here, but 6 wins was good enough to get us there. You can very much see PSG are still dominant here - Pochettino is still the manager and shows no sign of leaving. Oh, and PSG play in the Mauricio Pochettino stadium now. This is why it's a bit of a "boring" update - I'll need to dethrone PSG unless they have a stinker of a year somewhere.Coupe de France: Had been knocked out when I arrived in 36/37, but I was incredibly pissed off to get knocked out in 37/38. PSG had managed to get knocked out in the last 16 by Monaco and I very much fancied us at that stage to get the cup. Instead, we get knocked out on penalties to the eventual winners.Champions League/Europa League: Again, knocked out in 36/37 before I arrived and we managed a horrible group in the 37/38 edition, finishing third behind Real Madrid and Juventus in the Champions League. A first leg loss to a 36 year old Karim Adeymi-led Newcastle meant a 1-1 draw in England put us out. 2038 World Cup: A fairly simple qualification group that was done before I arrived to Jamaica in 2037 ahead of the 2038 South African hosted World Cup.Group Standings I genuinely didn't expect much here until the 18th minute against Sweden where we were 2-0 up. I thought we were going to spring a huge shock but then we couldn't withstand the onslaught and collapsed.2038/39 Preview: Haven't done this before but I'm a bit excited/curious for this season: Transfers Out: 11 (£116m) Transfers In: 45 (£160m)Lille Squad - I actually don't have any French player in the first team! The board are incredibly strict on signing u23 players (the most I've seen actually), so 19 of my 26 player first team are 23 or under. Could probably go wrong but I might be at Lille for a few years! Internationally though... We need the Gold Cup and the Asian Cup.... hopefully we'll get one of those at the end of the season!History: 2038/39 & 2039/40 I was fairly sure I did a round-up for the 38/39 season but came to post 39/40 and didn't see it so a double update again. 38/39: League - Cup - Europe 39/40: League - Cup - Europe 2039 Gold Cup: Results France Ligue 1: We're getting closer... A bit of a meh 38/39 campaign after some building blocks were put in, we were much better in 39/40 especially defensively. However an absolutely terrible end to the season left us 3rd, when we should have at least finished within 3 points of PSG, if not better. We're not too far off them thankfully, but they're still an incredible team. Coupe de France: You can really tell who I'm having trouble with in this challenge! 38/39 we get knocked out in the Semi Finals by PSG - not wholly unexpected, but still greatly annoying. We're not having huge amounts of trouble with teams, a couple of penalty wins aside against other Ligue 1 opposition, but it's also that team from Paris that causes issues! Thankfully, we managed to get past them in 39/40 and take home the first piece of silverware that I've been able to for a while! UEFA Champions League/Europa League: As I've said previously - I don't need to win the Champions League but I'll always give it a decent go. That being said, I'm not really doing anything with Lille. A Europa League Semi Final appearance is probably the best we're going to get for now, before emerging Huesca took us out. 2039 Gold Cup: As shown in the last post - we managed to get the Mexico job and we entered as overwhelming favourites to get the win. With that being said, I expected more of a challenge as cocky as that sounds! In 6 games, we scored 6 or more goals 4 times, and the only team we scored less than 4 against was Trinidad & Tobago in the Group Stage! A very straightforward final against USA awaited us as well. History: 2040/41 Season Report: Club: Lille (France) Country: N/A League - Cup - Europe France Ligue 1: *Insert Jaws Music* We're almost there - we've got the team to compete with PSG on a good level, but losing twice to them this season hurt us massively. This feels a bit like my season with Dortmund before we won the Bundesliga - we're incredibly close and it'll just take 1 or 2 players to put us over the edge. Coupe de France: A competition, a bit like Europe, that isn't too important to us right now. We played a bit of a rotated team in this competition to concentrate on both the league and Europe. UEFA Champions League: Considering our performance in the group, I'm actually incredibly disappointed we got knocked out by Man City in the way we did. We managed to knock Real Madrid out, but went 1-0 up away to Man City in the knockouts and then completely collapsed. We've still got to try and get an Asian National Team job, but as soon as the Ligue 1 title is captured that's when we stop staying at clubs for more than 2 years! libbyshuss
I'm still plugging away but not much to report on in the last 4 seasons! 2027/28 After leaving CT All Stars in South Africa in July I applied for loads of jobs, including Mamelodi Sundowns, who would have been a real upgrade, but got no offers. So I kept going and it wasn't until November i got two offers. The team 5th in South Korea's top division, or Brest, who were bottom of Ligue 1 in France. I went for Brest, figuring Brest is best. I also applied for, and got, the Ivory Coast job afte the ACoN in January. and Brest were bottom but had a decent squad. The only issue it was an old squad so it would need major surgery in the next couple of seasons. I managed to steady the ship and we put on a nice run in the new year to finish mid-table. Ivory Coast had a good squad but it was mainly friendlies and a couple of World Cup qualifiers (for 2030) 2028/29 and After euro 28 I got 4 offers from European teams, Belgium being by far the best. I couldn't resist it! A great season for Brest! I brought a couple of younger players in who performed really well but we were up against it in terms of transfer funds and wage budget. Still, we managed a 6th place finish and European qualfication! But i'd need to do something drastic to improve more 2029/30 and After our 6th place finish I decided to gamble. Sold our best two players for combined £60m and went on a spending spree. It paid off and we went unbeaten from January to finish second behind PSG. Two of my signings turned out to be wonderkids, which is always nice. Belgium qualified for the world cup easily! 2030/31 and World Cup! we lost to France in the semi-final, then after i got offered the England job? did I take it or stick with Belgium? Brest were annoying. really inconsistent in the first half, better in the second and only managed third after winning the last two games. Frustrating as PSG had their worst season in years. They still won the title, obviously, but lost 7 times on the way. Anyway, Brest were annoying me so I quit at the end of the season. I had 4 star reputation, just been to a World cup Semi-final, should be no problem getting a top job right? right? anyway, four seasons and no progress in the challenge! its looking unlikely i'll do it before FM23 to be honest.... libbyshuss
2030/31 and England So i took the England job after the world cup. They got a good squad but a worrying lack of stars under the age of 25. First game? Away to Belgium, who won 2-0! Other than that though it was a good season with my new striker I promoted scoring 12 in a run of 4 games. We'll see how the Euros go next season Borrusia Dortmund I applied for a few jobs (Arsenal, PSG, Flamenco) and got interviews but not one offer. And then, in March, along came Dortmund. They'd sacked their manager while they were 3rd in the league, in the Quarters of the Champions League and Semi finals of the domestic cup. They had an amazing squad, still had Bellingham and Moukoko at 27 and 26, and three wonderkids to boot. Seemed too good to be true! And it was, as I manged to balls it right up. 6 league games, all I needed to do was finish 4th to guarantee Champions League foortball next season. So I managed to lose 3, draw against the team bottom of the league and finish 6th. Beyond awful. Champions League? Beat Lyon 7-3 in the quarters, draw 3-3 at Old Trafford in the semi first leg only to lose the second leg 3-1. gah. And then Bayern beat us 1-0 aet in the pokal Honestly, it was a shambles. I'd sack myself but for some reason the board are giving me a chance. I need to start the next season strongly or I'm for it.

With the squad restrictions, I had to be a bit smart with transfers but we should be in a position next year to win this league. We'll have a shot at the AFC Champions League, so it should be an entertaining season I think!History:
remix951
It's been a while since I played FM but, with FM 23 coming out, I wanted to make sure I finished off what I started. I was fired by the USA for a disappointing Gold Cup. I found myself being hired by AC Milan who was in a bit of a down period. I managed them for six seasons, only able to muster a Coppa Italia, never able to get above 2nd place in Serie A. On top of that, we had made it to the UEFA CL final but fell painfully short. After the third season in a row finishing Top 3, the Inter and Juventus jobs opened up. While Inter wanted nothing to do with me, Juve extended me the job. Both Juve and Inter had much larger budgets than Milan and I was able to put Juve's to good use quickly. We ran through the season with little opposition and had a record-setting offense. We scored 138 goals and only allowed 18 over the course of the Scudetto. My striker had 29 goals and 10 assists and my inside fowards had 35 goals/9 assists and 35 goals/22 assists. Outside of Serie A, we racked up a UEFA CL win along with a win in the Club World Cup This leaves me with one trophy to go: the Gold Cup. This will be a very tough nut to crack. Mexico has been ranked #1 for years and the USA is in the Top 10. The next closest is Costa Rica in 49th and the other countries aren't particularly close to CR. The only saving grace is that Mexico's manager is in his 60s. I can only hope he is considering retirement after a few Gold Cup trophies and an 88% win percentage through more than 70 games. SK
2075 Challenge completed!!!! So at long last I have finished the challenge. After leaving Iran I couldn’t get another Asian job for another 7 years at which point I took the Iran job again in 2070. Like last time, I was good enough to make the QF but I lost to South Korea 2-1 which was right in line with expectations. Luckily the China job became available and they looked quite the powerhouse. Between then and the next Asian Cup in 2075 I won 2 East Asian Cups and made the QF of the World Cup so I was feeling confident. As expected, the group stage was pretty easy and won 3/3. Unfortunately first place was a stitch up and got me on the hard side of the draw. The round of 16 was against Qatar I used the occasion to rest my team as well as the last game of the group and won convincing with a 5-0 win. In the QF I drew South Korea and smashed them 3-0. It was a routine win and showed dominance from start to finish. In the SF it was Australia’s time and the first half was very edgy finishing 0-0. Early in the second half in the 50th minute Australia struck. I made a few alterations and I struck back with two goals in the 54th minute and 70th minute to gain the lead. A few scary moments ensued but I held on and got the win in an even game. One good thing about a hard draw was the final was against an easy team. The Saudi’s proved just this. It took awhile to get the break through but I did in the 43rd minute and from there the goals flowed and I finished up winning 7-0. So all in all, I finish the challenge in 2075. A bit longer than expected but the club side was finished in 2049 so it’s just these last two tournaments. Next time I’d like to tick off the continental international trophies earlier; especially the ones that only come every 4 years. It’s been great to try a whole bunch of different leagues and nations out. Haven’t played in a lot of these so it’s been cool to experience. eason Club Competition Position Notes & Achievements 2020/21 Uthongathi FC SA First Division 3rd (promoted via playoffs) 2021/22 Uthongathi FC SA Premier League 4th 2022/23 Kaiser Chiefs SA Premier League 1st. We ended up winning 23 from 24 games. China in 2044 is a bit... messy. I've been given £900m to spend (that is 900 million), so it's been pretty straightforward. With the squad restrictions, I had to be a bit smart with transfers but we should be in a position next year to win this league. We'll have a shot at the AFC Champions League, so it should be an entertaining season I think!History: Previous: Club: Shanghai Shenhua (China)Country: N/A League - Cup - Asia Chinese Super League: I won 23 out of 24 games, drawing the other whilst taking over Shenhua last year, so we started with a bang. We lost 1-0.... yep. Although in fairness we then won 31 of 33 games, drawing the other 2. Damn early season game ruining the invincible season! As I said, China's a bit messy for some reason, so it's not actually that difficult in the league with 3/4 decent foreign players. Chinese FA Super Cup: Much like the league, we didn't struggle here. Eventually winning the final 11-0 over 2 legs. We bizarrely struggled against lower league opposition in the first 2 rounds, but when we faced Super League teams we were fine. Was definitely a bit of an odd situation! Asian Champions League: This was almost a perfect comparison to the league. Lose the first game, but win the trophy! I'm kind of glad we didn't face any more Australian teams after Sydney FC. Considering our performances against the other teams over the course of the competition, to come away with a loss and a draw is quite head scratching! remix951
O Canada! In 2057, against the odds, Canada lifts the CONCACAF Gold Cup trophy for the first time since 2035 and, with it, I finished this challenge! It took me a hell of a long time in real life (I took a four month hiatus from the game) and in the game. I captured my penultimate trophy in 2049 and wasn't able to score the final trophy for another 8 years. USA and Mexico refused to accept my job application despite my accolades so I had to build up Canada to compete with #1 Mexico and #13 USA. I'm thrilled to finally complete this challenge, thanks to @vikeologistfor being the caretaker of it. vikeologist
Congrats to @remix951 and @SK 7 completions in FM22, which is a lot. Anybody planning to start this challenge with FM23? I was / am planning to once my current deluge of work ends in a week's time, but I honestly can't say I'm enthusiastic about the new game. I'm in a weird situation where I'm enjoying my FM22 save, but it's so easy it's almost boring, while FM23 will require a lot of work setting things up and figuring out a new tactic etc. If anybody does start with the beta, please do tell us about any bugs or things that might affect the challenge. goonergez
I'm definitely going to be returning to this challenge on FM23 @vikeologist. Really enjoyed my attempts on the last couple of editions even though I haven't actually managed to complete yet. Currently deciding whether to start on the beta or just hold off until the full release. I've had a few months away from FM playing F1 Manager (can't take the database style game outta me) but am now refreshed and ready to have another go. Currently trying a simple learn the ways save with Antalyaspor but as I say am unbelievably tempted to just crack straight on with this challenge. I've a first baby due in march so got to rack as many hours in now before life takes a bit of my time away from me.

Joined the squad in October, which in Indonesia is the tail end of the season. Second tier promotion playoffs were ongoing and Cilegon missed it, so no choice but to just simulate forward. Other than the excitement of signing a HOYD far better than the quality of our squad, offseason was just free agents and end of contracts, and we ended up with a squad that looked well suited to promotion. So how did we do? Not well. Even with a cup run still alive, there's no keeping your job when your relegation is confirmed. We were sixth or seventh on the xG table, but seemed to never score. An average defensive unit couldn't save us, and almost half the games were 0-1 losses. If it's possible to be FM'ed over an entire season, then this is it. On to the next job. Madura United FC 2022 After a couple weeks of job hunting, the post opened up for two top flight Indonesian teams: Madura United and Bali United. They're both title challengers who were underperforming, but Madura had a cup run going, and therefore a chance at an immediate title. The league title was still mathematically possible for both, but nothing short of winning out was realistically needed. Unfortunately, my leadership didn't start off hot, as the cup dream died immediately and we only took one point from my first two league games. But fortunately, we finished the stretch strong and ended up rising all the way to fourth. With the form at the end of the season and the defensive side of the squad leading the way in goals conceded, there's a lot of hope to knock out a couple of titles early on, and maybe push for a dream Champions League. In all likelihood, though, I'll get the two trophies here and go off to either the K LEAGUE 2 or the Chinese League One. Wow, it's been super long since I've gotten to this. I'm still actively going for it, and the quoted post here is to add context. Anyway, into the report. Madura United FC 2023 It's been nearly four months since the finish of the last season, so I can't remember all the fine details, but I do remember that the offseason transfer window was a bunch of trialing domestic players and seeing who would stick. That got us a good right back and striker partnership, and our lone available foreign player slot went into a tailormade CM attack guy who predictably balled out. There was plenty of confidence that a trophy or two could come our way if we had fortune. So how did we do? Reasonably well, but not good enough in the league. And ditto for the cup. We definitely had the talent, as we had a strong goalscoring output, a successful defensive unit that profited from our consistent attacking play, and xG for and against numbers that supported the case that we easily could've taken home the title. But unfortunately, it wasn't in the cards. The cup loss was particularly difficult to take, as we outplayed the opposition in the away leg only to draw, then gave up three goals to an opponent that had one off-target shot all game. They naturally went on to win the cup. Aside from that, the save took a 180 near the end of the season. Lowly Madura United had a tycoon takeover. It started as a sequence of inbox items that originally started after the chairman had decided to step down. I didn't think much of it and neglected to screenshot the first few, but that first screenshot was when it started to become a lot more serious. About three in game weeks after the first message, the takeover was completed. Money was no longer a concern. My dumb idiot brain couldn't comprehend it. I think the lowest prestige league I've had a tycoon takeover happen in during a save was the Mexican top flight. Needless to say, it's Indonesian Galactico time. Last thing, I have begun to sporadically stream this run and plan to at least do every trophy live. Not trying to self-promote, but if you see me in the FM22 Twitch category, that's what I'm doing. I'll edit out this part if self-promotion goes against site rules.

History: 2046/47 & 2047/48 Season Report Club: Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa)Country: Thailand A double update here because I genuinely forgot again for 46/47! 2046/47: League - Cup - Africa (N/A) 2047/48: League - Cup - Africa DSTV Premiership: A couple of fairly interesting seasons in South Africa! The 46/47 season saw us go toe to toe with Kaizer Chiefs. I thought we'd have the title Coming Home, but they kept their form up and took the trophy. 47/48 saw a few players come in and Oh My God, was it a bit of a better season! We only lost 2 games, playing our Modern Way whilst keeping up our performances in other competitions. We finished 17 points clear as we took the league title pretty comfortably in the end. Anyway, I've got to hope the Heat Dies Down after inputting all these Kaiser Chief songs so Thank You Very Much for reading this far. I Predict A Riot when someone actually reads this and replies...Cup Competitions: It's easier to lump these all together, as there was quite a few! We managed to win the Nedbank Cup in 46/47 - which I think is the main cup competition although I can't quite be certain as South Africa's a bit confusing! We backed it up in 47/48, winning the Telkom Knockout and the Nedbank Cup again thankfully. CAF Champions League: South African teams have been dominating this cup lately (I'm presuming having South Africa active for this long has helped this), so in what might have actually been the most stressfree continental competition I've played in (and I include CONCACAF in that!), we pretty much strolled through the entire competition on our way to winning it and knocking the final continental cup competition off my list! Thailand National Team: AFC Asian Cup Groups - Knockouts In the middle of my South African adventure, the Thailand job came up. Now one of the better teams in the AFC, I figured we'd give it a good shot. South Korea are utterly dominant in this part of the world now, winning 4 AFC Asian Cups in a row so I knew we'd come up against it if we faced them.... which we did. We were actually pretty decent throughout the tournament, controlling games well. We came up against our first proper test in the knockouts in the form of Australia in the Semi Finals, only squeezing by in a penalty shoot-out before the meeting with the South Koreans. Unfortunately, we were taught a footballing lesson which resulted in a 3-0 loss in the Final. It's a shame, but I wasn't fully expecting to win this competition and might struggle if South Korea keep their stranglehold. History:

vikeologist
When the beta came out, I started an Ultimate save to see what jobs one could get, and this morning finally had time to play FM23, and my ultimate save is dead in the water straight away. (A pity because I spent enough time sorting out the responsibilities etc to be slightly invested in it) It's not a bug, exactly. I started the save quickly because it was just a test (with a medium database) without adding in all the Asian players etc, as suggested in my opening post. With England loaded, the only Manageable Asian nation is Australia. I wouldn't say the number of African and S American nations is great either. 7 African, 5 South American. I think this is very important. Generally speaking, the number of manageable nations goes down over a long save. It's possible SI have fixed this, but I doubt it, because I'm not sure anybody has even ever registered it as a bug. As it takes about 50 seasons to become a big problem, not many encounter it. So, I would say that for anybody starting this challenge it is absolutely critical that you do this; Quote A Very Small Piece of Advice I recommend using the advanced option when setting up the game to add current international players from Asia. This should increase the number of nations available to manage in Asia, and make it easier to win the Asian Cup. I would be interested in others' experiences of the number of playable nations, whether or not you added the Asian international players or not. The number of S American and African nations should be ok, as long as they don't become unmanageable during the course of the save. Sorry it's taken me so long to realise this. Super busy for the rest of this year.
vikeologist
Vikeologist's 2022/3 Start of Challenge and Black Leopards Report With just the Australian and top 2 South African divisions loaded, it looked for a while like I might not be able to even get a job, but eventually I was offered one by Black Leopards. I know that others have managed this club in this challenge. Oh boy, were they in a mess. Not just in relegation danger but in debt and about 50% over budget. This meant that I couldn’t bring anybody new in, because any decent player’s wage demands where way more than we could pay. Also, all our existing players wouldn’t re-up. Eventually 2 did, for increased wages we can’t afford, but essentially next season we’re starting from scratch. But how did we fare on the pitch? Well, that was much better. I took over with just 8 matches to go. We won 6 and drew 1 of our first 7 matches which meant that unbelievably we went into the final match of the season in the playoffs and just needing a win. Unfortunately, despite dominating, it finished 0-0. The club’s finances are awful, so if I can, I’ll get another job, but at least I know that the tactics I’ve used for the last 2 FMs work on this version. Top Goalscorer - Promise Mkhuma - 16 Scored 8 goals in my first 3 matches in charge, and then just 1 in the remaining 5. My best player, but he’s determined to leave. Highest Average Rating (minimum 10 matches played) – Rafiq Namwera – 7.84 Was the first to ask to leave, because he’s Malawian and the previous manager didn’t play him, meaning he wouldn’t get a new visa. Man of The Match – Promise Mkhuma - 3 Most Valuable Player– Does it matter? They’re all leaving. To be fair, me too, if I can. Domestic Season Team Division Position MVP Notes 22/23 Black Leopards S African L1 5th Took over with 8 matches to go and took them from edge of relegation to edge of promotion. vikeologist
I'm not sure whether it's new for FM23, but the Oceania Nations Cup is very playable on this version. I think it's because of the added Asian international players. (I don't see why it would be. It's a separate continent in the game setup, I think). I know that @Surd won the OFC Cup, with Vanuatu. So it was possible before. I still don't think we can reasonably add the domestic Oceania Champions League, or whatever it is. Surd, do you remember whether there were a lot of Oceanic nations playable? Do you think we should add the competition to those you need to win? (Obviously that wouldn't apply to anyone who starts the challenge before the rule change, or anyone starting after to be honest if they want to stick to the old 32 competitions). I know people have suggested adding this before, but I think in previous versions you'd have had to add databases to be able to win it. I've certainly never seen all these Oceanic nations as playable in FM before. (There's 11 on them on my save). So 2 issues. 1. Because it seems to be because of adding Asian international players, we'd need to make it mandatory to do that in the game setup. It should be mandatory anyway, because as discussed, I think if you don't, winning the Asian Cup becomes very unlikely unless you win it in one attempt with Australia, or keep other Asian leagues playable until you win it). 2. Regardless of 1, do people want to add the Oceania Cup to those we have to win? Is Oceania really equivalent to the other 5 continents? Is this equivalent to the Asian Cup, or to the West Asian Championship, or European or North American Nations Leagues for instance? Again, any rule stage at this point would only apply to the future. I would however probably start a new thread, because the 2 things, (mandatory adding of Asian internationals and the Oceania Cup) change the challenge a bit. Everybody would need to post on the new thread, which wouldn't have FM23 in the title anyway. Until playing FM23, I didn't appreciate how much the new game affects the challenge.
