Without saying I told you so, I told you all the football would be off.

There was no way they’d play without official guidance, as soon as they bottled it and left it down to the clubs it was a dead duck

It was always going to be, can't believe anyone thought they wouldn't be.

Bet you wish United hadn’t bothered last night either

Mind you, in hindsight, they didn’t :D

Time to log onto Amazon and buy some 4k films to watch this weekend.

It's a good time to binge-watch a new series. Me and Mrs BG may make a start on Manifest.

TV is gonna be wall-to-wall coverage for the next two weeks.

Question.

Will people who work over the weekend have to do so? Regular jobs, pubs, restaurants etc?

Or will everything be closed down?

Seems beyond ridiculous to cancel football unless everything is completely shut down.

Nope, the plebs will have to carry on. Can't have any entertainment though.

People going to be out of pocket because of the cancelled games.

Quite a number of people who whinge about "wokeness" and not being able to say anything anymore absolutely seething with Sinclair.

Not saying I necessarily agree or disagree with Sinclair's statement but I've seen Kevin Bridges' joke and it's not that bad really, doesn't mock the Queen in any way. But yeah the free speech brigade are desperate to shut down anything they see as dissenting views.

Minefield

If we bin off the monarchy now then at least we could stop this needing to happen in the future.

They'd replace it with the head of states image and at the rate the Tories go through PM's the only growth industry will be Post Box, Stamps and currency production. Nobody will be able to afford a holiday abroad so Passport printing will be in decline anyway.

Yeah, I don't particularly think Sinclair was right to tweet what he did. It's just a good example of the hypocrisy of people who whinge about cancel culture suddenly adamant he should be sacked immediately. The first few top hits on that tweet were people that streams of anti-woke, cancel culture stuff in them that I saw.

Wtf are we supposed to do all weekend? Sit there and watch Huw and Witchell tug each other? :D

That’s what the authorities want you to do.

Pornhub is still up though, so you could have a tug yourself too

But… why?

I’m working today, I’ll be working this weekend. Why the **** wouldn’t the football be on? :D

This is the establishment that said having work parties was essential during a pandemic but attending funerals or visting sicking ill relatives in hospital wasn't. Absolute scum the lot of them.

You laugh but yeah… the whole country is basically going to be expected to just exist and be miserable for the next two weeks. Whether you care about the queen or not.

The gammon and flag-shaggers will have been demanding that all sport is cancelled. Was always going to happen.

You crack me up pal :D

You were tearing into Clive Myrie for a tiny slip of the tongue during hours of live TV, yet now you're having a go at people because they might choose to get offended over something trivial like a sports match going ahead.

You really are the most ridiculous hypocrite.

And complain if you don't want to do that and have the audacity to actually have an opposite opinion to them

Nah man, come off it. 2 weeks of **** all on? Like surely the sports was the best way for those who wanted to pay respect to her to actually do so?

I'm struggling to see how cancelling games is more respectful than games going ahead with thousands of people coming together and observing a collective minutes silence and players wearing black armbands. Instead royalists and non royalists all stay at home!

Or stay in the pubs all day

Only reason to cancel any games would be for lack of policing. This is just a nonsense really.

That’s the excuse they’ll have binned them on, which is completely bollocks.

I could see a coherent argument with stopping the London games, with everyone rushing to Green Park to dump some ****** petrol station flowers, but in the provinces it’s just a cop out, but….they’ve got history for it, which is why it was obvious that’s what would happen

It seems a bit odd that for all the people saying what she would have wanted no-one thought to confirm her wishes with her while she was still alive.

Would it have been too much for someone to ask if she still wanted planned events to go on as normal or if she preferred for everything to be put on hold until after her funeral?

You are a smug, nasty piece of work. The kind of fella that would enjoy telling kids that Father Christmas isn't real. Stick me on ignore if I offend you so much.
