Maybe playing in winter is not such a bad thing after all, rarely seen England play with such sharpness and tempo.

6 goals and not a single set piece amongst them. That is unheard of where England is concerned.

I'm confident: it's coming home.

He was quite possibly our worst player today. Gave away a few balls with sloppy passes. Didn't really keep his shape or width. Shaw was a much better player on the opposite flank without playing to hard. He also did this stupid cross block that was the biggest sale a winger's ever done.

Not awful, but no better than 6 out of 10.

He made a couple of strange passing choices in the game, but bizarre to criticise him for not keeping his shape or width. He went wide when Saka went inside and went inside when Saka was wide. Had the third most touches of the ball and was always available.

Thing that game about sums up where we are, real potential and some amazing attacking options but we can definitely be got at. The backline is sketchy at best but tbf you cant really complain about a 6-2 win to open the tournament whoever the opponents are, we've definitely done worse against worse before now.

Not sure I could have asked for a better opening performance. Raheem scores, Saka scores, Jude bags one, Rashford off the bench. Not sure I could have dreamt a better start then that. Lovely

Can't knock a single player really. Full backs looked a threat. Saka and Sterling permanent danger. Kane didn't score but still 2 assists. If Pickford had saved that pen at the end then we would have had perfection

Interesting to read that while Irans players are getting praised for their anthem silence, back home they're getting criticism because they met with the Ayatollah and said they don't support the protests on social media.

Videos circling of Iranians back home cheering England goals, chants against the players, etc even in the stadium...

Some good analysis of this here
