Some disallowed goals, then he gets no service against Mexico, Alvarez comes and scores and there goes his starting spot he had for years and always performed well. Mind you, not an excuse. In this mental state, he shouldn't even be on the squad.

kopsy101
He's obviously too keen for his goal and it's effecting him badly because he is a genuinely good player. This tournament he's been absurdly awful. He had 11 goals and 5 assists in last 20 official matches for Argentina before the WC. This is a complete meltdown. He usually has a month or two in the season where he can't do anything, kind of cost Inter the title last year, his bad run coincided with a lot of points lost. Gary_Parker
The look on Messi's face said it all for that miss. You can see why he usually goes it alone when he can. GunmaN1905
This Australia squad has to be one of the most overperforming teams at a WC, ever. They basically did nothing in 4 matches and almost went to extra-time against Argentina in a knockout match.

Mickybricks14
Aussies playin five defenders and five forwards. not winning first balls and no one to compete for the second one so it's just wave after wave of Argentina counters

GunmaN1905
I expect Martinez to be the best goalkeeper for the rest of the tournament. After Saudi match, he said he talked to a psychologist for hours. You prepare for something for years and then suddenly you lose to two shots, felt like he disappointed the entire nation. This save will be a turnaround.
