Intrigued by why licensing issues would mean changing the name of Maritimo to MRT

well i am assuming its licencing issues. was like this in last year and this year. I know the game has licensing issues with some clubs and leagues, but given most of the Portuguese league has proper names i am surprised that little Maritimo are an outlier.

 

Not complaining, just genuinely intrigued, did they refuse to take part or ask too much money or? Weird thing is, the stadium is listed correctly as Stadium de Maritimo.

 

I have never used the editor, would that allow the name to be changed ?

Image rights and trademarks can be part of licensing issues.

You can change the name in the editor but it's possible you will need a real name fix db file as these often prevent real names from appearing in the game.

Not being able to use Maritimo makes some sense but why are Portimonense PTM or whatever it is rather than just using the city name Portimao?
