Board Blocking Transfer

I am stuck being able to sign this defender. I'm not sure if this is a bug, but the board steadfastly refuse to pay anything more than £5m for this player. I've tried all 3 of the negotiating 'talk downs' with the board but they just wont put up the money.

They were however willing for me to pay £15m for a 34 on £150kpw!

 

I am currently french Champions Lyon

Have £95m in the bank with transfer budget of £100+

Wage space of £600k pw.

The player is rated a B with my scouts.

 

This must surely be a bug?

Anybody had the same issue, any work arounds?

Seems like a bug to me. I'd report it in the bug tracker.

The only time I’ve had this is where the player had an active release clause that I had somehow managed to miss. Worth checking that as well.

Maybe the 5 million is above his minimum release clause, they will block it if that happens

His release clause is £29m.

Just as an update. A few months later, I was eventually able to persuade the board to release the money to sign this guy.

Im kind of in the same boat, i had an optional future fee of 28m from the loan, and when i go to trigger it the board blocks it and says 25m is the max. I sold another striker to fund this transfer too

It says he has an active release clause, presumably they are blocking it because you are overpaying the active release clause by sticking to the loan agreement.
