Predicted line-ups

Türkiye: Günok; Ayhan, Demiral, Bardakcı, Kadıoğlu; Özcan, Çalhanoğlu; Güler, Yıldız, Aktürkoğlu; Yılmaz

Georgia: Mamardashvili; Kverkvelia, Kashia, Dvali; Kakabadze, Kiteishvili, Kochorashvili, Shengelia, Chakvetadze; Kvaratskhelia, Mikautadze
Out: Giorgi Loria (suspended)

The first meeting between these two since 2005, when Türkiye won 5-2

Türkiye, can they recreate the glory years of the 2000s? Georgia, this might be the first time you've ever watched them live.

Turkey have got to come good this year.  Get through the groups at least.

Not sure Georgia have got a result in them today, but I fancy them against the Czechs.

So Turkey topped their group ahead of Croatia fwiw whilst Georgia qualified for these finals via the POs after finishing 4th in their group behind Spain, Scotland and Norway. They won just 2/8 games in qualifying. Should be a Turkey win based on all that.

Huge fight seems to have broken out among the Turkey and Georgia fans inside the stadium. Doesn't look great.

Turkey wasn't great, Croatia was dire in qualifying, as per usual.

Can't predict anything with how this tournament has been going.

Incompetence by organizers.

Fans in certain matchups simply have to be separated.

Luckily for them it wasn't Greece instead of Georgia.

Mixed results for the Euros debutants since it grew to 24 teams.

2016:
Albania (Group Stage)
Northern Ireland (R16)
Slovakia (R16)
Iceland (Quarter Final)
Wales (Semi Final)

2020:
Finland (Group Stage)
North Macedonia (Group Stage)

c.60% success rate in terms of getting through the group

Wait...Argentinian referee?

Referee exchange programme between CONMEBOL and UEFA. Think there was a South American ref at the last Euros too.

EDIT: Indeed there was. A different Argentine ref was at Euro 2020.

Yeah, there was. Same deal here. Argentinian ref at the Euros and they have sent an Italian ref to the Copa America.

This is already pretty fun, and I think Turkey have a "Nearly A Goal Of The Tournament" candidate there..
