Why is Pepe still playing? Amazing defending from Dias

Frankfurt getting €90m for Kolo Muani after one season has to be one of the best deals in the last decade.

He's a quality player but this hasn't been a stellar tournament for him (or any of the French players) has it

I’ll watch 1-0s all day long. But people moan about international tournaments and wonder why these sides with loads of good players don’t just go and attack like they do for the clubs.

But in the later stages of a tournament every game is pretty much a toss of a coin. Whereas when they play for their clubs one team normally has a bigger advantage over the other. Plus the teams are used to playing together a lot more which helps.

Doesn’t mean the international tournaments aren’t still great. You just have to adjust your expectations about the type of football you are going to see.

Absolutely.

The fact these players aren't playing and training together full time really shows. The quality drops for obvious reasons.

You can still get one sided results though, as the semis at the the last few World Cups have shown.

He looks like a shadow of himself from a year ago. Maybe it's something about Eintracht's strikers, Jovic also fell away similarly, Haller was misused at West Ham although he's done well since, Andre Silva hasn't been great at Leipzig, etc.

I get the point but in the case of France, I absolutely disagree.

You see it any time they go behind in a game, Deschamps takes the handbrake off and just like magic they can actually play good attacking football.

There's no doubt that this defensive security is exactly what he wants. He's probably delighted with how this game is going right now.

Can't help but feel Portugal are going to be the ones that get something out of this. If they can actually get a shot on target.

While I don't think that one should have been a booking, a) he should have been booked before and b) "how can you be booked for winning the ball?" is an incredibly stupid thing for Murphy to say. Winning the ball hasn't been enough for years, decades at this point.

For a game that has Mbappe and Ronaldo on the pitch the quality in the final third is really lacking.

You feel like one of them is going to do it though.
