There's no momentum from Dumfries' foot towards Kane's who shoots and just keeps naturally extending it. He kicked Dumfries and got a penalty.

If that's a penalty, then strikers should keep extending their motion after every shot.

It is a foul IMO, but enough to overturn? No.

I'm glad you accept a refereeing present gracefully, but as you see even half the English fans here say it wasn't a pen :D

Thinking it's not a penalty is fine. I don't think VAR should have got involved. But immediately accusing the ref of being "bent" is worthy of being joked about, especially given you've complained about loads of decisions

Dumfries stuck his foot up and Kane kicked it.

Dumfries didn't dive in with a tackle or anything. It was a block.

Not sure what Dumfries is meant to do other than just letting Kane shoot unopposed. Perfectly entitled to go for it.

He can block by putting a foot between the ball and goal, or go for the ball in a safer way than studs first, perhaps?

Entitled to go for it. Not entitled to be studs up and kick another player

With Zwayer's history in mind, there's nothing strange in accusing him of being "bent".

I really don't understand how he's allowed to referee at this level.

For me it's who initiates the contact and who hits who.

Penalties like these are a dangerous precedent.

Disagreed, you can't penalise somebody for the natural act of following through a shot. The onus is on the defender to avoid it, IMO.

Thought that was much further over the line than it was.

I thought it was in, think about an 8th of the ball was over if that :D I love goalline technology so much

You don't penalise either of them.

Not getting a penalty for kicking someone blocking a shot isn't getting penalised though?

maybe the guy on VAR wanted a decent game?

goals in the first half = decent game from most analysis of this tournament

Especially considering that Kane's shot was totally unaffected by the "foul". His shot was already halfway towards the goal at the contact :D

The studs hit him on the top of the foot. How were they not pointing at him?😂

No this is a great match so far, but sticking your foot up to try and bock a shot and then getting kicked on the heel is not a penalty ffs :D

His foot was at about a 45 degree angle, as it natural for someone sticking their foot out.

Then Kane kicked him up the footbum.

Was it, or did he rush it a bit because of someone lunging studs first towards him?

If I kick you in the face, was your face pointing at my foot throughout? :D
