The investigation, by the FA, has been going on for 15 months and in that time he got called up, bit odd if thats the reason he misses out. Easy excuse though.

No Tmori or Toney is shocking call but also fairly typical of Southgate's safety first approach to things.

Thing that annoys me most is that if this was happening in a top 5 league it would have been fixed within one update. It being an issue for a year is bad enough, fact it's been an issue for the previous 2 years and still isn't fixed is disgraceful tbh

Yeah could be helpful. As far as I know the bugs are finances in Belgium being a mess and U18's in Scotland don't work as you can't hire staff or move players between the squads right?

That's a proper annoying bug and no shock they've not fixed it but unfortunately we have to have a blanket ban on the editor even if it's as simple as just changing the name. Sorry.

You've had some good answers already but my two cents are firstly try and ignore the star ratings, or at the very least don't judge players by them. It takes some doing but learning to see what attributes suit what roles you need. In these early seasons I do tend to promote players quickly as they're needed but once you're more established up the leagues the basic idea I use is that before 18 they stay training, once they're 18 I look to see if they're ready to play if not they're loaned out. The other thing I try and do is make sure I don't have more than 2 players for a role in the U18 as they need game time there. Not having a reserve or B team makes this a little hard though.

My thought is that anything that has happened before you take over is fine to use tbh, if you can't cancel them then they're players really.

How do you set up a scout to watch the next opposition on this version? For the life of me I can't seem to do it

Weird issue in my game. My manager picture no longer shows up In other save files my picture still shows up but not in this one. No idea what's caused it as have changed nothing today

I think either one really along with the concaf champions league will be enough, if you want an added challenge then throw in the World Club cup

Yeah you can add leagues after you've started.

Yeah this really, the challenge is to take a unplayable team to the top so leagues in the base game that don't have relegation aren't used, it's why we don't have the MLS for example. This challenge used to be only in Europe but we extended it to the rest of the world to offer some variety and difficultly levels but one the main rules we've kept is that relegation from the bottom tier is part of it. If people want to start another thread they're free to do so.

Have echo these posts really, all I meant earlier was that it's crazy to me that so many people enjoy this way of playing. I was saying recently that I think the reason the thread does well isn't anything I do but you guys (not just the 4 quoted) posting and chatting away that make this thread. You see others where people post a season update and there's little comment on it, and that's fine it's how many of these challenge threads are, but here it feels like we all want to see everyone do well and there's no competition in it, think we can all agree that padders 200 odd year save is one we all remember and is up there as one of our fave saves ever. If you're unsure about something or need advice then someone will be able to answer. I usually save my thanks for the end of the game cycle and guess I didn't say it for FM22 but it's great seeing this place so active once again.

Have added both sn00gle's and XaW's posts to the OP as well, if anyone else has some local knowledge of teams then feel free to post them and I'll add them as well. Also it's crazy that the game isn't even really out yet and we're on page 8 - have no idea why this challenge is so popular but it's great seeing so many enjoy this style of playing FM.

So after those cracking posts by @Sn00gle and @XaW I have spent this evening trying to pick between 3 options, either continue with my FC United save (10 games in and we're top so it's going well) or try somewhere new in either Poland (with Polonia) or Norway (with Lyn) and well I have finally made my choice. Welcome the new Manager of Lyn 1896 We start with quite the small squad But that's half the fun. I've always had a soft spot for Scandinavian football and while my own club has ties with Denmark I've gone with Norway for this, also have top flights on the 5 main leagues in Europe so that should add some danger with those clubs stealing my best players early. Not a massive fan of a running track around our pitch and I must find some kits but this is how we start

Ah man this is brilliant, thank you. Only trouble is it's got me thinking of restarting in Poland for somewhere new. This is kind of thing I was thinking about the other day when I was wondering about clubs to manage. Polonia sounds like a lot of fun. Tempting despite me actually enjoying my start at FC United.
