Both things can be true, and both things are true. I don't think anybody is going to argue that was a wonderful performance, but it was absolutely much, much better than what we've shown since the first 10 minutes against Serbia.

That's why I'm so surprised at France's approach. I know they're never gonna go gung ho, but they just showed much less urgency than you'd expect. Portugal are big favourites for me now.

Portugal seem more interested in scoring than France which is surprising. Wouldn't want to be anywhere near a penalty shoot out against Portugal.

Second half was alright, was a good 10 minutes where I thought it was breaking out into a good game. First half was dire though, and still big chunks of the second half was meh. Hopefully we at least get some entertainment in this half hour. Portugal got to fancy themselves with Costa though, even just psychologically with France knowing how he did last time. You'd think France might want to show some level of urgency over extra time.

While I don't think that one should have been a booking, a) he should have been booked before and b) "how can you be booked for winning the ball?" is an incredibly stupid thing for Murphy to say. Winning the ball hasn't been enough for years, decades at this point.
