  1. I think that "he gets" is optional and his to refuse, its a contractual obligation on the clubs part, not his. So its his right to say no and I doubt it would even go to CAS. Bad luck, its not FM its reality. At the end of the day he's an employee with contractual rights on his part as well.
  2. Yes, absolutely, the game is made so we can live the dream. I think in your case though the stars relate to club reputation so to be a 5 star "team" you would need to be an elite club as it'd be relative to other clubs at minumum. The stars relating to players is different and as has been said, are relative to your own squad. So there is a difference.
  3. 1984-85 season, Norwich City and Sunderland contested the League Cup final. Norwich won 1-0, but that season both teams were relegated from the old First Division (Premiership in modern-speak).
  4. Just on the IRL average positions above, a few things. - When is this taken from(?) as those squad numbers don't correlate to Man City's present squad numbers https://www.mancity.com/players/mens - 7 and 15 very narrow, probably in-game Pep switched them. So if you play LHS first half, RHS 2nd half it'll calculate a central average position - If Ake was no. 6 as he is this season, he's likely played LB/WB and CB at different periods, again distorting the average position Average positions in a single match need to be interpreted in context, especially with a tinkerer like Guardiola.
  5. Why would SI willingingly create a piece of code that works against human players to annoy them, upset them / us? This would of course discourage them / us from buying the game in the future, and be negative word of mouth. Please people, think about this
  6. I had a player in FM17, his Determination for same reason shot up by about 10 points. Be warned, can go opposite way. I had a wonderkid I signed for Barcelona, FM21 I think, for lots of money. Determination dropped from 18 to 8! Doesn't happen often though. Enjoy it when its in your favour, scream when its against you - its life
  7. Also could do with seeing his personality type (can't see it here unless I'm missing it?) as that makes a difference to development.
  8. Tactics: FM19 introduced "defensive lines" and "lines of engagement", also I think "counter press" and "regroup" as options. FM23 made some important tweaks as well - so a LOT on the tactics board Data analysis: Is a big thing now. Your scouts reports on player data performance. Your data analysts give you specific info in simple to understand charts, on team and players. Match Engine: With changes from FM19 and FM20 in tactics has been a bit of a rollercoaster and its took time, but at current state of play certainly at high levels its good. More scrappy / realistic midfield, players behave more in line with their roles and duties, feels more intuitive. Those are the main 3 ones that spring to mind. No doubt I've missed something, and many other more subtle changes. On the whole, it will feel very different and up to date compared to FM18 so I'd say go for it.
  9. I've seen it once or twice over the years - as aforementioned only for newgens for obvious reasons.
  10. I would imagine so, IIRC they did the updated points deduction for Derby County last season.
  11. Had no response to the save file I uploaded on Monday 9th Jan 2023, there was no response to the original report in Nov 2022. I've posted again in a different part of the bugs forum, linking to the original report, and to this thread.
  12. This was also raised in the main "General Discussion" forum (link below) where there's more confirmation of this error - which was what actually brought it to my attention (I rarely look at attendances!)
  13. I'm going to link to a thread in the data section about this created by someone else but then followed up by me inc. a save-file. In short, when Barcelona move back to Camp Nou, attendances are way below what they should be i.e. around 50K mark for most fixtures. I uploaded a save file "LR Barcelona 2024-25". No response to the report has been made - original post was Nov 2022, I added info on Monday 9th Jan 2023. So I'm posting again, here. Link to original thread below. I will add another post after this one.
  14. I bought the in-game editor and in S4 (2025-26) this is what it shows for attendance i.e. way below what it should be. So obviously when there's the temp. stadium and then move back to Camp Nou there's been a weird, permanent re-set. I've fixed it with the IGE but really shouldn't have to have bought it to fix such an obvious bug that has such high impact on finances over several seasons.
  15. Save file is now uploaded Seems less affected by Champions League games - big ones e.g. Chelsea which is visible, also Liverpool, in the 90K + range as they should be. More of a domestic issue.

  17. This is really more feedback about the bug reporting system - specifically uploading. Appreciate its really important when reporting bugs that we upload .pkms , savefiles etc. But when I'm currently trying to upload a savefile, its saying "an hour" and the bar is barely moving (its only 127 Mb) - has to be accepted this will discourage people. I have other things to do with my bandwidth tonight... Btw before anyone asks, my connection is absolutely fine
  18. I've logged this on the thread above under data issues (Spain) with a save-file "LR Barcelona 2024-25" which is uploading... slowly. The original report was made back in November.
  19. I can confirm this. There's a thread about this in the General Discussion forum as well. I'm uploading my savefile now, timer says it'll be about 20 mins... its "LR Barcelona 2024-25" EDIT - its now uploaded after an hour.
  20. Shows how much attention I pay.... I'm also on S4 with Barca, just checked attendances and can confirm similar i.e. most at upper 40K, lower 50K. Valencia was 60k + (can't remember), El Classico only 80K of a 99K stadium! I did wonder why we were losing so much money each month, even with the debt repayments, given that I've managed the wages / finances really well. I'll see if this has been raised in bugs and will put a report in.
  21. I'm playing a save as Barcelona, into S4. They're dominant because they have more money than everyone else. Their wage budget is £6m+. My wage budget has been as low as £3.5m due to the financial difficulties Barcelona face. We're stable thanks to my management and our wage budget is £4m now but way behind Real Madrid's. When you then consider that Barca are Real's closest rivals, you understand why they are dominant, adding to that they have a gifted generation of midfielders coming through e.g. Camavinga, Tchouameni and the best keeper in the world in Courtois - the bane of my life in El Classico derbies! I did win La Liga in S3, but 6 pts behind at halfway point of S4 so I think the title will be going back to Madrid this season. But that's the reason why, there's no conspiracy, its how it is.
  22. I don't think we're allowed to link fansites here... but such updates exist. Will inbox you.
  23. I don't really see why a moderator felt the need to criticise the survery or its motivations in the first place. There is, as has been mentioned oft times, toxicity on these forums and there has been now for a long time. It cuts both ways when there is ill-informed critique like this and a defensiveness across the board. You don't have to explain those here and you shouldn't feel the need to or feel pressured into doing so. Your motivations I've no doubt are sound and FWIW I thought the survey was fine. Anyone can pick holes in the methodology, sample representation / size etc. Tbh I think its academic bullying. I am very glad that your direct communications with SI are positive though. I do very much believe SI's hearts are in the right places, its just a shame about the defensiveness here and there's no excuse for it.
  24. General Football Management game = the original "Football Manager" (Addictive Games) by Kevin J. Toms for the ZX Spectrum 48k. I think SI / SEGA later bought the naming rights when they switched brand name from Championship Manager? Btw as well as on emulators, the author has re-released this for mobiles and PCs under the brand name "Football Star Manager" for anyone who wants a trip down memory lane! First CM / FM game by the current crew was, I think, CM 96/97 - it was the one with the commentary on the CD. Edit: Forgot to say. I did play his updated version a few years ago and its still installed on my PC. I never play CM 96/97.
  25. With the egos of modern sports professionals these days, and add to that the increased expectation of people to get "exactly" what they want, it would not surprise me at all if this is reality. Personally, when I enter a negotiation with a player, I almost never agree to a role / position / duty. At the end of the day I'm the manager and they have to adapt according to what's best for the team, especially if I need to change systems. Its about setting down the terms of the manager / player relationship from the start.
