  1. EURO 2040 Preview Squad It's quite a strong squad, dominated by Croatia Zmijvaci players, and a pretty young squad with an average age of 26. It should come as no shock that the best producer of talent for the national team is Dinamo Zagreb, with nearly half of the squad coming from there. Ideal XI Our Best XI is pretty strong, but there are some glaring weaknesses, namely our fullbacks and Segundo Volante. Sweeper Keeper Ball Playing Defender Central Defender Full-Back Wing-Back Defensive Midfielder Segundo Volante Winger Wide Playmaker False Nine Advanced Forward
  2. April 2040 We go 3 for 3 in the league, but it's all for pride as Hajduk coast to the title. We get an absolutely brutal group. Hopefully we can get 3rd with enough points to progress, but I have my doubts.
  3. March 2040 I'm conceding prematurely to Hajduk, they just had consistent results where we couldn't. National Team Two close results against two elite teams.
  4. 2040 Youth Intake Vlad Norac-Kevo 8A - Stipislav Butorović 8B* - Mazen Rosanda 8C A pretty good intake, with 2 promising players. We even get a Brazilian!
  5. January 2040 We've had quite a busy January when it comes to selling players, as Sosa, Wanner and Elogo all leave having been pushed out of the side. Sosa leaves as the most capped Croatia Zmijavci player at 192, but we leave with 2m profit. Wanner, who we signed for free back in 2035, made 130 appearances and we make everything off him in profit, while Elogo made 182 appearances in his 6.5 seasons here, and we only bought him for 43.5k! Two players in my matchday squad also leave, but we get both of them back on loan for the rest of the season. Jelic-Balta is off to City after only half a season with us but we sell him for basically double what we got him for. Meanwhile, the big sale is Pericic to Bayern for a massive 30m. We bought him for 16.5m from Dinamo, and now he's already gone after 1.5 seasons. But the money we've made from this is going to strengthen the squad massively next season. Out of the Champions League, and surely out of league title contention too. At least Croatia get 2 automatic CL spots next season.
  6. November 2039 The pursuit of Hajduk begins, and the fight to stay in the Champions League playoff positions begins. National Team A boring end to the qualifying campaign, but qualification was already secured.
  7. October 2039 We drop a couple of important games and Hajduk takes the lead with a 3 point buffer. National Team A disappointing loss to Morocco, but we've qualified for the Euros with 2 games to spare
  8. September 2039 We're not even a third of the way through the season and it's already turned into a clear three horse race. We also get off to a good start in the Champions League, but it was against teams I expected results from. National Team We're still top of the group on the basis of Germany's game in hand, but it looks like 2nd is there for the taking.
  9. August 2039 We aren't just signing Croatians for the bench, as Hasicic slots into the central defender role. A great month, getting revenge on Hajduk and even a win away against Osijek. Well, we should have 5 definite losses, but we'll see what we can do against PAOK, Ried and Bodo/Glimt.
  10. July 2039 A nothing academy player leaves. An away loss to Hajduk dampens a great start.
  11. 2039 Preseason Everybody we have signed is Croatian, as we are bolstering our bench depth as well as satisfying our home grown quota. I like to think I'm boosting the quality of the national team as well, because most of these guys are current internationals. So far the only one who will be starting is our keeper from two seasons ago, brought back for slightly more than we got the first time we bought him. In terms of the departures, Figbe didn't grow as much as I'd hoped (he didn't grow at all) and Ribic wanted to leave, Cukaricki met his asking price which was double what we paid for, so off he goes. Sweeper Keeper Wing-Back Defensive Midfielder Segundo Volante Winger Wide Playmaker Advanced Forward An excellent preseason, especially the big win over Monaco, and we have pretty good odds of winning the league again. National Team We go top of the group but I fully expect Germany to beat us.
  12. We just scraped through and retained our title. Props to Hajduk for choking slightly harder than we did! Best XI Mario Gamarra - Peter Ilić - Josip Peričić Record Breakers Award Winners Progress
  13. April 2039 We've stumbled, but so have Hajduk, and it's set up an exciting finale with the two of us and Osijek.
  14. March 2039 We slip up at home against Istra, and things are tied again. Osijek have also thrown their hat in the ring to be a contender, and now it's looking even closer. National Team We get off to a great start in the Euro qualifiers, but it's a pretty tough group.
  15. 2039 Youth Intake Svetko Sarić 7A - Paulo Grbesic 7B - Rade Jereb 7C At first glance, this intake is pretty terrible. But there are a lot of good personalities in there even if their ability isn't up to standard, so they'll be signed. Also, our 7D prospect is good enough to make the bench for the first team, even though he's not quite old enough yet.
  16. February 2039 And just like that, we're back on top! This league is ridiculous, but not more so than Dinamo all but doomed to finish 6th at best!
  17. January 2039 Vrbanac leaves for 2.2m to Hungary, netting us a profit of about 1.3m. No more Champions League, and Osijek took great joy in that as they smashed us for the second time this season. 40% of our conceded goals have come at the hands of them. That'll probably spell the end of our chances for the title unless Hajduk slip up, something I don't see them doing.
  18. December 2038 A good month in the league, but with games against Inter and Porto left I think we're done in the Champions League for this year.
  19. November 2038 Rijeka flogged us, but we're still just a point behind Hajduk as we slip down the table in the Champions League. National Team I can't believe we've been relegated
  20. October 2038 We've had a whole bunch of injuries and suspensions this month, so the fact that we navigated the domestic side of things unbeaten is excellent, especially against Hajduk where we had 2 players sent off before the end of the first half. We'll ignore the game against Hertha though National Team From two wins to two losses, but we're still top on goal difference as everyone is on 6
  21. September 2038 Osijek once again rain on our parade, thrashing us at around the same time they did last year. National Team A great start to life as Croatia manager, as we go 2 for 2 in the Nations League including a win over England!
  22. August 2038 Two more reserve players leave. How is it that we can lose to Vrazdin and then flog both Rijeka and Hajduk? Baffling. Another tough run of fixtures in the Champions League, but we can probably get something from Austrian champs St Polten and Norwegian champs Strommen, who won the league in their 3rd season in the Eliteserien. Maybe we can get something from Porto or Brest.
  23. July 2038 We've already dropped points to Varazdin which is annoying, as Rijeka and Hajduk get off to flyers.
