  1. So we received some job offers and declined them because of the wages on offer. USA won the Gold Cup. And a player called Juan Carlos Aguirre has made a nationality switch from Spain to Ecuador and will represent their national team.
  2. The one thing I really love about your save that you are writing about here, is the variety in the type of signings you're making. It's good and refreshing that you're not only sticking to young players and potential wonderkids but you're building the squad based off how players can contribute regardless of age. So I really like that, keep going.
  3. It is that time of the year again, it is the 1st of July and we are going to talk about the managerial rich list. It is the same three people even now, Antonio Conte, Jurgen Klopp and Brendan Rodgers. An interesting fact is that Marcelino who was earning the same amount as Brendan Rodgers has retired from football after managing Atletico Madrid for about 7 years. And Jurgen Klopp is now 70 years old on the save so maybe he could quit the Real Madrid job too. So under Conte last season, Inter finished 2nd in Serie A, got knocked out in the Italian Cup semi final against Juventus and got knocked out by Benfica in the quarter final of the Champions League. Under Klopp, last season, Real Madrid finished 3rd in La Liga, lost to Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup final, lost to Levante in the fifth round of the Spanish Cup and got knocked out by Liverpool in the first knockout round in the Champions League. Under Rodgers, last season, Liverpool finished 2nd in the Premier League, lost to Tottenham in the Community Shield, got knocked out by Bournemouth in the Carabao Cup third round, got knocked out by Manchester City in the FA Cup quarter final and got knocked out by Manchester United in the Champions League semi final.
  4. Yes it is, thanks. My managerial reputation also increased first by getting the Spain job and then getting wins as Spain manager, let's hope it translates into something successful. I seem like a Maurizio Sarri/Graham Potter style of manager, working my way from the Vanarama National League South to the Spain job in a very obscure way, for those who have read the entire thing so far, you will know.
  5. More job offers, more rejections from my side. It could be possible that we stay on as Spain manager for a while.
  6. Also we applied for a lot of jobs and got quite a considerable number of job offers but I declined it because of the wages.
  7. So we played games against Israel and Cyprus in the World Cup qualifiers and we won both of them. And also England won the 2037 Nations League.
  8. We played our first couple of World Cup qualifying games with Spain against Malta and Albania, we won both games but the performances have not been convincing enough, either way I will take the wins and 3 points is 3 points.
  9. Hey man, really good story so far, keep going.
  10. So I have been offered a few jobs but declined it because of wages, also a player called Carlos Atilano has chosen to represent Spain over Mexico so I am delighted about that.
  11. I have received a number of job offers and I have declined them all because of the wages on offer. So let's see whether we stay on as Spain manager or if we get a better offer.
  12. Thank you very much for 10K+ views on my content. I really appreciate everyone who has been reading about my save and it has been quite a journey, both in terms of the save and my own journey as a writer.
  13. It is that time of the year again, it is the January transfer window and I have been looking for new jobs. Also there has been a case where a player has reaffirmed his commitment to represent Spain on the national stage, also the Ivory Coast Under 20's job was offered to me but I have declined it. Also the World Cup qualifying group stage has been drawn, it is a good group that we hope to progress from.
  14. Here is how the games went in the Nations League group stages, we came in 2nd place in the group and Belgium qualified for the latter stages. But we did our best so I can't complain.
  15. Thank you very much. It has to work out, you're right. You know there is no point in thinking what would happen next, whatever will happen, will happen. But yes it would be nice to win a major trophy. The Qatar job catapulted me up to the Spain job, as apart from Hartlepool where I won the FA trophy about 13 years back within the save, the Qatar job was the best job I personally feel I have done, when it comes to getting players to perform as well as they can. Especially considering I did such a messed up job with UAE, a 9% win rate in 17 months, this was worse than the Cambridge job about 14 years back within the save. From the disaster as UAE manager that left me in the lurch to becoming the Spain manager, it is a comeback. Not exactly failing upwards but the Qatar job had a huge influence on me getting the Spain job.
  16. Nice story so far. What made you take the Colchester job even though you were flying high with Kidderminster Harriers?
  17. We have played our first few games as Spain manager and it has been a bright start. Managing a team of this quality is both a blessing and a curse as I am on a knife edge when it comes to management. If it goes well and if I win a major trophy for example then my managerial reputation will increase and on the other hand if it goes badly then I don't know what next.
  18. If you have any other suggestions regarding the current job I have, which is managing Spain, please let me know. I am currently in the year 2036 on my save.
  19. Also another thing to consider is that, the reason I have got the Spain job is because maybe the AI sort of figured out that I am an experienced international manager. Usually I don't get offered jobs like that. But in my current save I have managed a lot of international teams. El Salvador, Morocco, Nigeria, Cameroon, Montenegro, Colombia, UAE, Qatar and now Spain. That is a total of 9 international teams so far.
  20. Thanks a lot, I don't want to do that though. The whole purpose is rising to become the richest manager in world football by any means. Now I have come a long way after nearly 16 seasons. So Spain are currently my biggest payday.
  21. Yes I was earning 19.5k pounds as Qatar manager, I pretty much tripled my wages. And I have a squad as the Spain manager which can challenge and possibly win major trophies.
  22. So @phnompenhandy said Qatar is a lower status job with high wages so it could be a trap. Anyway after 17 months as Qatar manager and a 57% win rate as the Qatar manager, Spain have hired me as their manager. I am now earning 58k pounds per week. My first truly big job at any level, unless Colombia and Nigeria also count. But Spain is a whole different level. Here is what the squad looks like.
  23. Watch what's coming next. It is going to be a surprise.
